Reminds me of the Holiday Inn Holidome. Brings back childhood memories from the 90’s ☺️the last one I remember visiting as a kid was Decatur, IL, summer of 1998. This video is a nice stroll down memory lane.
Those motion detectors were all wired together where the ends were and one of those wires probably went off to a panel or siren somewhere. It looks to me like they were wired in series (except for red & black which would be power) so that missing detector is probably why the system wasn't working. BTW, most such detectors can be set to operate without flashing the "activated" light so you never really know...
@@UnchartedTravel OH Good NEWS!!...the tiny room was nightmare fuel tho...at first it was just creepy but after thinking about it for months I ended up totally freaked by it. The coyotes I watched about 6 times...Jesus
1:43 Those sensors may be a deterrent, but judging by the facts that a) you guys got in no problem/notice and b) there was no electricity running in the building, it's only a matter of when (not if) people are going to break in to damage the building even further and/or steal stuff. It's truly a sad fate, especially for those pianos. I'd hate to think they'll get damaged or stolen as the building continues to fester.
This is a very good point, I am very worried about those pianos - hopefully the owners do something with the property and salvage them! Thanks for watching!
Brennen, the way you navigate, and speak on your videos, makes me feel like I'm there as well. I sometimes catch myself responding to something you said.😂 Like "please don't be smelly", I responded with, "I bet it's gonna be smelly". Lol. Great video as always man! Keep them coming.👍
When you have a large building and you shut the A/C off, the humidity will return which results in many areas to start to grow mold and mildew. Paint will peel and and ceilings will deteriorate, the dust is another telltale sign of humidity.
My husband worked at a Holiday Inn and that looks exactly the same. I would wonder if it was but the one he worked at is still open just not a holiday inn anymore.
@@UnchartedTravel your explores are great as you are so respectful of the places. Your overnight stay with the coyotes still freaks me out what could have happened to you 😳 glad u exploring with others now so keep safe and looking forward to seeing the next one 😎

HI! BRENNEN, I loved your new video. The restaurant was very interesting to see and the stuff that was left there was unreal. YOU are an epic TH-camr I always like looking at your videos keep up the good work,
Super late to the party, but I just thought I'd add that the phone headset with keyboard was most likely one of the original dial-up modems, like was featured in the movie War Games. Pretty odd that it would still be there, and in amazing condition, but super cool.
Imagine how much you could make on Ebay with all the stuff left behind. We are such a wasteful society. Disgusting. Sell everything to feed the homeless or something.
@@UnchartedTravel Actually it's a "TTY" used by people who are deaf to send/receive text messages via telephone lines. Kind of like a telex machine, but not quite the same thing. Telex machines also known as teleprinters or more commonly teletype machines were usually the input/output device for early computers.
I work in security and if that sensor runs to a pannel box they can be tired into either a silant alarm or a siren taking them off the wall woth set an alarm off as well.
Wasn’t Dan with you? I could have swore I watched Dan livestream this place with all of you and the cops were patrolling outside? Maybe I’m going crazy 😂
Any info on why this place shut down? Was it maybe because of Covid they were mandated to shut down or something? I just think of all the people who lost their jobs and it makes me sad seeing all these once nice places being left to just decay and rot.
Looks like Covid which is why everything was left behind. Ownership prob assumed they can re-open in a few weeks, which turned to months until they said f it and sold it. Not sure what takes the new owners so long to bring it back. They’ll prob re-sell it.
The building was incredible what a shame and waste to see it fall into decay and vandalism like it has looks like it could be repurposed for something else
I thought this place looked familiar- in fall of 2019 I was a vendor at a convention at this hotel and spent a night there. It was gross and overpriced. The bed in my room had wet urine soaking the sheets and mattress, but not the blankets, so housekeeping made a bed that had been urinated in and left it like that. When I let the front desk know they tried to blame me. What I’m saying here is that it was a really classy establishment.
Hello. This message is for the creator of this video. Could you please let me know what city and state this hotel is in? I can't seem to get any info about that.
All those pots and pans in there they're not Chrome that stainless steel they don't make pots and pans out of Chrome those grand pianos are worth $2,000 if nt more depends on how old they are
I feel like that's such waste of good resources. Do you believe in haunted places? What happened in that room, that would have scare the shit out of me.
Thats a very good question, i can never understand why someone would make such a large investment and then not refurbish or secure the property unless they are trying to make an insurance claim or something
With the number of people without a roof over their heads, one would THINK 'they' could ensure these places serve a better purpose, as opposed to being left to rot - to vandals. Smh.

I fully expect teens to make "playing the piano in abandoned hotel" videos
So strange that the rooms would have a window right out into the lobby. You'd think it would be pretty noisy and bright.

Covid.
