❤️🔥loved this video and have added quite a few books to my TBR! Favorite Romantasy Reads so far have been Fourth Wing by: Rebecca Yarros & That time I got drunk and saved a Demon By: Kimberly Lemming! ❤️🔥
Thank you so much for recommending Melissa K. Roehrich. I am binge-reading The Lady of Darkness series. I especially don't want to read anything else except her books at the moment 😂
❤️🔥I recently became a fan of fantasy; and now, every video of yours brings me closer and closer to romantasy books. I'm already in love with all those book covers❤️🔥
I'm honestly not a huge romantasy fan, because they usually get spicy and as someone on the ace spectrum that doesn't interest me at all. However, I did read "Serpent and the Wings of Night" in January and fell in love with it. It wins simply for having a) one smut scene and b) the one smut scene not having any super cringe dialogue or descriptions. But also because it gives me my dark, gothic, early-2000s vampire vibes XD On the topic of marketing and romantasy, I feel your fear, and I'm also afraid that editors/publishers are going to be pushing for fantasy writers to include romance and/or smut as early in their stories as possible, whether it works with the story or not. ❤🔥
I’m glad you found one that worked for you! It’s definitely a hit or miss theme, even if it does interest you it’s such a delicate topic when it comes to spicy scenes that it’s hard to get right. Gotta admit, the vampire vibes help a lot though 😂
Romantasy was one of the genres I found in 2023. 2024 romantasy goals are to finish the Blood Grace series which I’m very much enjoying and to binge the Lady of Darkness series. Thanks for the intro to Melissa K. Roehrich
Just incase you haven't read The Ever King yet - it's way more pirates and fae than vikings! I didn't even know it was vikings or meant to be and I adored it!!! I clearly missed the Viking memo? 😂😂 x
Thank you for doing this video!! I’ve been in such a romantasy mood, and didn’t know what to pick up next. I have the Lady of Darkness series on my TBR, and I’m currently working my way through The Blood and Ash/Flesh and Fire series and it’s not the best I’ve read but entertaining! ❤️🔥
I do love Radiance. There are some dark plot points and political machinations that I think will keep you interested. I have the 2nd book and just started it and it's quite the dark opening...
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 Right now I’m re-reading HOEAB. I didn’t know how that would go … I’m annotating it as well. I’m actually enjoying it more the second time around!
I included it in a vlog last year but generally I rated it 4.5/5 stars! Very different vibe from the rest of the series but still enjoyed exploring a new aspect to this world
Apparently The Book of Azrael does a terrible job of using the Spanish language as an inspiration for the world-building. I'm intrigued to see what you think of the book as a whole though Ashleigh! 🖤

I’ve read a different LJ Andrews ( a curse of shadow and thorns) and really enjoyed it!
I'm going to hopefully become a romantasy girlie this year! The Ever King and A Court this Cruel and Lovely are both on my TBR. 😊
Oh my gosh, I remember reading the Wicked Lovely series in like, middle school and high school! Such a throwback 😂🖤
❤️🔥I recently became a fan of fantasy; and now, every video of yours brings me closer and closer to romantasy books. I'm already in love with all those book covers❤️🔥
I saw you at RARE but I was too shy to say hi lol 😂
Melissa Marr is my favorite author!! Wicked Lovely is definitely YA, but the best kind. She is adding more books to the series that are adult.
