Milburn Stone, "Doc" from Gunsmoke, big Mike Mazurki and a great movie plot made this old black and white movie a lot of fun to watch. Love these old movies, better than what's out there today. Joe S

I'm a big Mike Mazurki fan. He played both comedic and dramatic goons his whole career. He was on everything from Gilligan's Island, the Beverly Hillbillies, Perry Mason, I Love Lucy, The Munsters, etc.
And the wonderfully awful "Its About Time".

This was delightfully funny, I enjoyed it so much. What a charmer, and so many funny lines. This is my style of movie, they just don't make them like this anymore. I will try to find more films by this directer, Lewis Collins, anybody else know more of his films?

I love when they use a double in the fight scenes of a movie. Who isn't as big as the actor, doesn't look like him, and is wearing a different color suit.

Lol. Good one. My late, ex father-in-law and brother-in-law, were lawyers. Needless to say, brother-in-law lost his license. Crooked they were. I imagine the brother, still is. Can't trust any of that family. Glad I'm out of that sick mess. You've no idea. Sinister family. It took me 5 years to see what kind of family they were. Love "LAWYER" jokes.

Stone played both criminal and lawman early in his career. I can't remember the name, but there is a serial here on TH-cam where he plays a detective, somewhat like an FBI agent who solves the case after 12 episodes. So he did have starring roles early in his career, too, but mostly co-starred.

A very well put together comedy about hoodlums, joke after joke.
Took me a minute to figure out Dill....He was the drunk that ran away from his wife on Andy Griffith....the episode when Opie only wants to donate 3 cents to charity.
One of my favorite Andy Griffith shows. "Opie's Charity" is the name of that episode.
He also had his own sit com in the '50' s.

The Grapefruit scene in " public enemy #21" is making fun of the famous James Cagney scene.
Haha, great old movie, no continuity what-so-ever. In the fight scene it was clearly different people at different heights wearing different suits, but still great.
Well it was a classic brawl.

A great fun movie even if the plot line above is misleading.
Best watched for Ben Weldon (ex-Adventures of Superman hoodlum) and 6'5" Mike Mazurki (Little Joe NOT to be confused with Michael Landon) the heavy in Dick Powell's 'Murder My Sweet." Also, watch for the most bizarre over-the-top Irish undertaker scene at 24:08. #aye
I wonder if they were supposed to be Scottish, not Irish? I heard the name "Angus" tossed around, and I'm basing it on the accent too.
Harvey Dude ....it was a Scottish accent that they were trying to do, so my guess is they were Scottish and not Irish......it also played into the American stereotype of the Scottish.
Mike Mazurki also was in John Ford Movies and in some John Wayne Movies.

Satin and lace nightgowns are timeless and durable. Avoid silk; not machine washable, and require pressing/ironing. Antique shops may have nightgowns, petticoats (full and 1/2 slips), ... pretty and use able loungerie. In French they are (were?) known as peignoires.

I ve been called KD, never knew what that really meant---I will watch the movie.
This proves my idea that British comedy is Light-Years ahead of American comedy. Hollywood seems to thrive on the Simple-Mindedness of the people. And from the looks of the Mental State of Americans, it is easy to see how that works quiet well. But British comedy reaches deep into their culture and blends their comedy (and drama as well) without having to incorporate just one group. For an Underwear Salesman of 1947 to have $40 in his Wallet is unthinkable.That would be a months salary.
Well, they're much more sinister. I do know that. Dark Sinister comedy. They intertwine their humor with real feelings, with their dry humor.. They can cuss you out and make a joke at the same time.

It seems he had a scientific hypothesis and this film suggested he was correct.. Random capitalizations were required. Something was quiet. At other times some cohort wasn't necessary in order to delve into societal norms. Then something about money. My grandma was English so maybe that's why I speak this person's "language."

I love wearing t-shirts to bed. Lingerie is not my thing. Lace makes me itch. It scratches the skin. And nylon is ok. Silk is ok but you can ruin it in a washing machine. Yes lingerie looks more glamourous but it’s not comfortable.
