Milburn Stone, "Doc" from Gunsmoke, big Mike Mazurki and a great movie plot made this old black and white movie a lot of fun to watch. Love these old movies, better than what's out there today. Joe S

Stone played both criminal and lawman early in his career. I can't remember the name, but there is a serial here on TH-cam where he plays a detective, somewhat like an FBI agent who solves the case after 12 episodes. So he did have starring roles early in his career, too, but mostly co-starred.

This proves my idea that British comedy is Light-Years ahead of American comedy. Hollywood seems to thrive on the Simple-Mindedness of the people. And from the looks of the Mental State of Americans, it is easy to see how that works quiet well. But British comedy reaches deep into their culture and blends their comedy (and drama as well) without having to incorporate just one group. For an Underwear Salesman of 1947 to have $40 in his Wallet is unthinkable. That would be a months salary.

You are digging at David Govett---check your own comment. Your spelling isn't so hot. (Because) is a whole word. (Didn't) doesn't have a (m) in it. You also used a (period) with a (question mark). I thought you Yankees, knew everything. Poking fun of southerns, is one thing you Yankees do. Oh well.

I love wearing t-shirts to bed. Lingerie is not my thing. Lace makes me itch. It scratches the skin. And nylon is ok. Silk is ok but you can ruin it in a washing machine. Yes lingerie looks more glamourous but it’s not comfortable.

This is a good channel, so nothing against them, but personally, I can't stand plots where the scum bag always wins while the decent guy always loses. Couldn't get past the first three minutes or so..

This is suppose to be a comedy?!? They must have a different kind of humor back in 1947.
