The Last crooked mile is not a English film. It was made in Hollywood in 1946 by Republic film studios. It stars Don (Red) Barry and Ann Savage, who the year before had a big success in Detour. It was a attempt to change Barry's image from that of a cowboy to a urban fast talking tough guy
Cop: "Highly polished nails eh? Crook: "Don't ask- don't tell." Red Barry is way more entertaining here than he was as "Red Ryder". @40:33, the fan clerk, Tom Dugan, always struck me as a perfect 'Stooges' member.
Rather amazing how Tom can add 2 or 3 inches of height between scenes depending on the women he's hitting on and her height. Dude couldn't have been more than 5" 6".
Stay Home if bad smells trigger you. Dog owners turn our neighborhoods into Toilets everyday. Canine Cologne is everywhere. Is that a concern ? The filth & potential disease ?
Predictable, but when watching an old-time b/w classic movie, you can hardly ever go wrong. 🎦
“What’s your rush? Stick around. I’m just beginning to dislike you.”😊
A very exciting and roll coaster of a movie
except for the phony roller coaster scene!
ROLLER
A great story agood mix of action and humour thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Enjoyed. Thank you for posting this movie. Appreciated.
John Dehner was a very good actor in leads and support.
But, in this movie, he didn't last very long, did he? 🔫
I enjoyed the flick
Good movie certainly held my initerest throughout
A great film
Thank you 🥰 Good movie 👍 Good cast 😃
Thanks for this. Ann Savage looks a bit like a younger Christine Lahti, much better looking here than in the movie "Detour".

Refers to English language in my experience.
@@kathypetricca3572 , he just doesn't get it.
English as opposed to British.
Yes , English refers to the language of the film and not the Country. @kathypetricca3572
@@alanrappaport9937 English refers to the film language not Country of Origin. It is confusing at first...
I think John Miljan is the
Police detective with the mustache.
I’m glad Tom didn’t drink that mug of soap suds at the sideshow.

Yes, he even looks like Shemp.
@@stevemartin6144No he doesn't.🙄
Red Barry was no James Cagney, but Ann Savage was very hot. I wonder if she did her own singing in this film?
Missing the opening credits.👎
I wish theyd just show credits and not the movie
@@mhart8310 somehow it's a way of dodging the YT copyright/IP police. Several 'classic movie' channels pull the same stunt to avoid detection.

With credits
What is the obsession with opening credits ! Can be googled if list of cast is that important.
...10 cent hot dogs, wow!!...
in 1946, that wasn't cheap.
That would be $1.61 as of 15OCT2024.
"Jarvis wouldn't trust his own mother with more than 10 cents"😅
I knew this was going to be a good movie when I saw that it was approved with certificate #11338.🙄
No opening credits. No closing credits. No interest from the viewer. 💣
Yep - always earns MY dislike!
Other channels have the credits.
Back then everyone smoked 🚬..even doctors 😊
Notice all the smokers today ? Vaping ? Pot ? Just as popular. Look at all the tobacco products behind the counter.
@@joelonzello4189 Vaping products are supposed to be for people who are quitting smoking. We need to get this back on track.

The smart talk in these old gangster movies make me laugh.
Ghetto Culture excuse for language today makes me cry...
What year movie?

Maybe.
I didn't find it all that nightmarish. A bad idea, but hardly nightmarish.

Highly polished nails ayy?
Don was about 2-3 inches too short for leading man….
