@@2b_hopeful We did. We reported to them over a week ago. We have exchanged a few emails. Marriott has not refunded us for the unused nights and have not compensated us for our extra costs.
First, many folks say "They go to the Marriott" LOL...not knowing it's all about location, for that rustic look; design gone bad. You cannot MOLD, broken smoke dectators. However $400 to $1000 per night 🌙 at the Marriott in Tulum... My expectations imagined would be better.

It was a nightmare. We contacted Corporate Marriott and have not received a refund for the room and our additional costs.

This makes me sad, I had a life changing experience here but that was 10 years ago. I recorded a video that go back and dream. To know that is now a part of Marriott, is even more disappointing.
Hopefully they will renovate the interior of the villas and pool areas soon. Service levels were extremely poor as well. Maybe one day they will return to the experiences of 10 years ago.

I guess they were going for a rustic look but the place look rusty and pop down. 😂😂😂 Uncle Marvin why did you go and disturb the raccoons. 😂😂😂 No more screaming 😂😂😂😂.

I had a really terrifying experience with Marriot a few years back. I avoid staying at the Marriot because my personal safety is priority while traveling.

The hotel is a disaster because the employees are not paid correctly, the owner does not care about the people and treats his staff badly, in high season they did not pay those who worked at the parties. So sorry for the bad experience

After what--two years?--of watching your videos, this one was so different! Almost painful to watch. Holy Moly! and a Marriott? the raccoon part, not having to live it--was funny.
This is one of our worst experiences in the last 10+ years. We rarely encounter issues like these. Would not have expected this at a Marriott hotel. We are still waiting for Corporate Marriott to resolve.

I haven’t been to Tulum yet but noticed new flights from AA so thanks for this info. Definitely wont stay there.
New direct flights to Tulum makes it more convenient to visit. This hotel is one to avoid.

Its one thing to rough it out when you expect it... when the marketing and pricing is luxurious...then not good to get Catfish
