We can see the japanese are giving this their heart and soul. The fans of bluegrass aren't dumb we just know when someone outside our culture is doing right by our culture. It took people a while to appreciate Elvis Presley's rendition of Blue Moon of Kentucky and in some levels a lot of OG bluegrass purists went to their graves hating Elvis' version.
My youngest has been after me to get a TikTok. I haven't yet, I figured us geezers already took over Facebook and MySpace. But I can appreciate it. Who knows, maybe the traffic from TikTok will give these fine musicians a chance to get the stardom they deserve .
Well that's because a lot of Japanese music relies just as heavy on strings as bluegrass does. I think it's a natural progression in their musical tastes to appreciate all string band music.
We need to track down this band and get them back together for a some gigs here in the States. Hell, at the minimum at least making some more videos. I could listen to them all day.
Fox On The Run She walks through the corn leading down to the river Her hair shone like gold in the hot morning sun She took all the love that a poor boy could give her And left me to die like a fox on the run Like a fox, like a fox, like a fox, like a fox, on the run Everybody knows, the reason for the fall When woman tempted man down in paradise’s hall This woman tempted me, and took me for a ride Like the lonely fox, I need a place to hide We’ll pour a glass of wine, to fortify our soul We’ll talk about the world and friends we used to know I see a string of girls, who’ll put me on the floor The game is nearly over and the hounds are at my door
Simply beautiful! Thank you Folks! I’m in my 60’s and still consider Bluegrass the purest form of music. Invented in America but loved by the World. You Kids do a great job!
Such an excellent song, a person can’t even listen to it without having fun. I can’t play an instrument but know it must be a blast to play it with friends.
Very entertaining group of young Bluegrass musicians that sing and play in a very cheerful upbeat way. Quite a unique group for that part of the world.
I love bluegrass I have to thank mother for introducing me to bluegrass gospel and through it to the mountain music no matter who plays it these guys are great
Only thing wrong with this.....it could have been about another two minutes longer. lol LOVE IT!! Their passion for a it is contagious. ....and I'm an old Tennessee boy, for whatever that's worth. ...and now a fan of these folks. Can't wait to see anything else they do.
I remember visiting a random bluegrass live band bar in Yokohama with a friend, and had such an amazing time there. I wanted to tip the band for how great of a show they put, but they wouldn't allow me to. There were like 30-40 customers and we all had a great time.
I watched this about 15 times before I noticed the Rocky Top sign, lol, this is exactly the embodiment of why music and the internet are beautiful things. Imagine showing this to the first Portugese and Dutch to ever reach Japan and the old, old school bluegrass players.
I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH! YOU ARE AWSOME! LOVE YOUR SONGS AND YOUR TALENT AND MUSIC. PLEASE DONT STOP ! KEEP PLAYING AND COME TO THE APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS IN EAST TENNESSEE AND NORTH CAROLINA TO PERFORM. GOD BLESS YOU!!!
From Boston what do I know about Bluegrass other than I like it. I consider Bluegrass American culture that actually got created in the United States. I’m so happy to see these people enjoying themselves and making this lovely music.
From Kentucky and been studying Japanese for a few months now. today I remembered a bluegrass broadcast form a few years ago featuring a Japanese band and this has given me a new connection to japan I had forgot about. We may seem quite different but ever rural Ky and modern japan can have an appreciation for each others cultural.
They were going by the name Red Bull when I came across them.. not sure if they still do. But if you search that name and the Elvis Costello cover Everyday I write the book you will not be disappointed:)
Their English isnt the best, but I think that gives them their own unique sound. This is the most beautiful thing i have ever seen in my 32 years. I love bluegrass, but i become more in love with it when i see people with no Appalachian roots playing it. It basically says that our music is so profound it can even reach people on a south Pacific island on the other side of the world.
I love not only how much Bluegrass caught on in Japan, but how genuine it is. Even original bluegrass songs written in Japan sound like they could be american. It's really beautiful how a style of music can be kept so perfectly traditional on the other side of the planet.
It's very genuine and they're definitely enjoying themselves. American Bluegrass has been gotten to the point where it's just a competition to see who can outplay the other.
As a genuine Swampbilly (from the swamps of Florida and the foothills of Appalachia), who grew up on Bluegrass I absolutely love this!
as a dude who had this music playing at every family reunion in saskatewan, i looove it
brought to you by the culture of people being absolute mad perfectionists at everything they touch
undeniably true, I love Japan for that reason
Would have made Bill Monroe happy, then.
We can see the japanese are giving this their heart and soul. The fans of bluegrass aren't dumb we just know when someone outside our culture is doing right by our culture. I've never seen a bluegrass band work a single mic as good as this band. Excellent version. One of my favorites.
As a Kentuckian banjo player, this makes my heart smile. Excellently done.
As a hillbilly it brings tears to my eyes that parts of our culture is happily shared with world.

The two people who gave this a thumbs down, apparently don't know what traditional bluegrass is, because this is IT. Great job.
As Tennessean that grew up, "pickin' and a grinnin"", to bluegrass on the front porch of my home , this makes me so happy.

Well that's because a lot of Japanese music relies just as heavy on strings as bluegrass does. I think it's a natural progression in their musical tastes to appreciate all string band music.

Fox On The Run
She walks through the corn leading down to the river
Her hair shone like gold in the hot morning sun

Like a fox, like a fox, like a fox, like a fox, on the run

A true bluegrass band! A group of family and friends making life better with a little music.

How nice to not see anyone bitching about cultural appropriation in this comment section
