I MESSED UP, But My Client Still PAID Me Extra

- SHE PAID ME EXTRA BECAUSE THE GRASS WAS LONG!
This client is a regular client of mine and I service a few of her properties. This is one of her investment properties, which she currently has a tenant living in there and the lawn maintenance is included in their rent.
I was supposed to return in 2wks from when I had last mowed their lawn. However, what had happened was it started raining and it went on for WEEKS and WEEKS! So much so, that I messed up by forgetting to schedule her lawn by the time it had stopped, so it was left unattended for awhile.
As you can see, the current state of this
lawn is the result of the weeks of rain and flooding we have had lately and also me unfortunately forgetting to schedule her in 🤦🏼♂️
The day I recorded this was the ONLY day that it wasn’t raining rain so I made sure I got in there to trim it down. It was not as good as what I wanted it to be as it started sprinkling and was soon to start raining AGAIN!
Can’t wait for some decent weather, once we get a good solid few days of good weather I will definitely be back here to clean it up nicely.

That was a great cleanup, considering how wet everything was! My lawn looks like that right now, and I need to get out and cut it. But it is the start of our rainy season here in the Pacific NW of the US and I may have waited to long.

Know all about the rain you have received on East Coast. Now we are getting it in Victoria, whole towns flooded. Good luck with getting better weather, it’s supposed to be a wet summer (El Nina). It's not surprising the ground is so wet, when next doors roof discharges on to it, that can't be right.
I was a bit surprised to see the down pipe from the huge shed next door - all that water will be going through the fence into the yard you were mowing - there is a lot of roof area on that huge shed. I bet that brings a mass off water into their yard when it rains heavily. That's not legal.... May also explain why the back yard was a bit swampy.
Actually it is good to leave the waste grass cutting to cover the damp soil because it will rot and become part of soil latter when rain still pouring for days. I myself do that and it helps to nourished the soil.

I would never have done it because of the condition it was in.. the owner doesn’t have any right to complain. He should do it himself if he thinks he could do better. Bravo for you.

The absurd amount of rain in recent months has allowed a lot of lawns to grow like that. Difficult jobs to do when they're all wet and overgrown and it's a struggle to keep up. You did great!
They are lucky, if we leave anything on the lawn, like chairs of toys the lawn guys around here either go around it or over it. I know that Australia is known as the "land down under" but I didn't realize it meant under water.

I remember one year where that happened to me at my house. We had so much rain. The back yard has a lot of shade and grows really long. Wow! This is a LOT of hard work. I am feeling this one!

It needed to be cut in order to dry out. A lot of yards got neglected because of all the rain. Then lawn workers had to scramble to catch up. Under the circumstances, you did a great job.

Ok Ok..I believe the answer is to get online order a 4 blade drone drop the blades underneath the machine then sharpening the blades and program the unit for the appropriate yard get under an awning with your coffee or tea even while its raining, made in the shade, if there is any!
Grass does grow back but I would of used the weed eater first then your push mower.

I'm surprised you got paid period..for messing up their yard ...alot of owners would take too kindly for people doing so ... Next time i suggest just using the trimmer if the yard is saggerated with water ..

I wonder if that Auscat mini loader still works. It would be nice to have a working mini loader.
If it did I would suggest that they bring in some fill dirt and level the ground. That would make things easier.

Seeing the mess you were making and then keep driving over the same spot over and over again was not very smart. Should have been weed whipped all over until dryer weather.
