We did the mountainside when we did our Camino and it was truly gorgeous and not as bad as people had told us it would be. :) Maybe a goal for next time...
You might want to give the other route, the one that goes up to Pradela, a go next time. It’s really beautiful and peaceful and it’s not that tough. Granted, the climb out of Villafranca seems a bit intimidating but it flattens out up there pretty quickly. Or maybe it’s just that I was enjoying it so much that I didn’t pay attention to my legs screaming. I will admit that the descent is a bit rough but that is mitigated by the gorgeous views. In any event thanks for your videos. I really enjoy them and I’ve learned a lot from watching them, something that made my Camino this past May a lot more rewarding. Buen Camino!
Goood video! Suggestion for the next videos. Although it is not close to the ancient spirit of Camino it is definitively part of the experience so, I would suggest to analyze the beers of Camino. I've seen many Estrella Galicia, some Mahou, few Damm. What's your ranking?
Ahhh…I may need to give this a full video at some point! My short answer is simple. Estrella is the hands down winner. Mahou is easily the worst. I think there are least 2 others that are in the middle. There are a few “select” beers and occasionally there will be a draft of Heineken or Guinness. The “select” brews are almost always genuinely better. But honestly I have been known to choose my restaurant based on the Estrella sign since it is clearly better than the others.
@@CaminoGuide I agree with you about Estrella Galicia. Heineken is more "soft" and comercial, something like budweiser. I don't like it very much. Guinness is for pure irish souls - not for me - Mahou has two types of beer. The normal one and Mahou cinco estrellas. The first one is not good but the other one is quite similar to Estrella. Recommendation: 1906 is other different beer from the same Estrella Galicia producer. It has a little bit more alcohol but more flavour.
