Skateshops are the backbone of the skate community, and provide a place for skateboarders to meet, a place for artists, musicians, and pro skateboarders to have their start, and so much more. Probably the most important skate industry video ever made!! Levi is the one who originally got me thinking about where I spend my money. I used to pick up skate gear wherever was convenient. I had no idea how the industry worked. It’s so important to support local, it keeps the essence of skateboarding alive. Thanks Levi and Shredz for spreading the knowledge!

Local skateshops also support local board companies (Null for Colorado) that big box stores will not. Local skateshops will also hold a product for you when you ask for it. You also get to meet the sales rep and possibility of seeing your favorite pro skater swinging by. Shout out to Emage Denver and 303 Boards in both Denver and Boulder, Colorado.

Blue Title Lounge is my local skate shop kind of they use to have a shop in Newmarket Ontario Canada but ended up closing just kept the Toronto location I still support them but I wish they stayed open in my town everyone use to rep the merch around.

When you live a couple hours away though, it’s still really worth to physically go their shop. Just make a day out of it, closeby we have the 3rd largest outdoor skatepark of Europe - 4000 sq metres 👍🏻
And it’s a beautiful city with great food 😊

I grew up in a small suburb in Canada so all i had was west 49 that turned into a zumiez in the mall in my city; now i go to sohip in Toronto or use paradeworld to support Canadian skateboard shops 🇨🇦🛹

Shout-out to Yuck Skateshop in Orlando and Minneola FL, they give free skate lessons at the skatepark around the corner every Tuesday and Thursday and has got to be one of the coolest veteran owned businesses in Florida

BTL had a great indoor park/shop in aurora when I first started skating(like 97 I think). Lost track of them when they moved to Newmarket, thought they’d closed. Last year I moved to Toronto and started skating again after 13 years, wound up stumbling across their current location by chance. Was sooooo hyped to see them still going strong, now it’s once again my go to local

Also shout out to So Hot Right Now (SHRN) in Munich, Germany! Went back into skateboarding this year and bought a local brand deck; the guys gave me a free Thrasher issue of Mason Silva SOTY plus spent around an hour nerding with me about shoes, wheels, and board shapes that I ended up buying some new Formula Fours and their advice on it was on point!

Shout out Farrs (Manchester),Sartorius (Avon) and The Cutting Edge (Berlin) here in lil ole Connecticut!!!
Farrs is a little ma and pop store in Manchester that deals with a variety of goods from biking, fishing and skateboarding! They are small, but the selection is nice! I even hear at one point, they were the only place to get World Industries decks.
Sartorius had a location in Glastonbury but they moved to their other location in Avon, tons of cruiser boards that I thought I'd never see IRL!
Cutting Edge, carries a wide variety, has more graphic grip tape than Zumiez and has an impressive vintage skateboard collection on wall to boot!
Overall, really good stores, they just don't have convenient opening and closing times and they don't have an effective order online system.

I use to manage the Pharmacy Boardshop Hollywood. I keep the shop open during the pandemic, riots, and shutdowns, I would ask questions and interact with customers through Instagram. I had an amazing time running the shop, ordering products, and seeing customers being excited to buy the product. I will never forget the kid's faces when I would give them good but old boards or any part for his or her skateboards. Working at the skate shop was The Best time of my life

Don't have a local skate shop, but keeping it in Finland!
I worked at a shop in high school and it was the most fun times off the board I can remember in that era of my life. The closest shop to me shut their doors during the pandemic, but LB Skate and Pharmacy LB (run by Boo of DGK) are still out there. I show 'em love even if I'm an old head.

Where I live I only have a zumiez and a vans about an hour away so I shop warehouse skateboards, ccs, and tactics. All great stores
The Board Store in Rickmansworth just north of London is a great skater owned and run shop.
My local Beyond Skate in Perth is the best in WA. And my new local Parliament Skate Shop in Brisbane, QLD are also fucking sick.
Only national franchise before their buy out with urban planet was west 49 but I always supported locals when ever possible even one deck I bought was boutique store of NHS branded products with extra 80's style boards i buy for my surf skate adapter cruiser set up

My local skate shop is 303 boards they have great service I got my first board there they helped me and my mom get the right sizes and the right hardness and when I was going to just get the parts for a board and they said that they can build it they were very nice and if you live by colfax In Colorado 20/10 would go too

Nah but fr. Our local shop which was actually Shred Shop, in Chicago. Was like 40 min away. Only one in my area. Used to go there always. Then they died. I did end up becoming a lil zumiez boi for a little because we didn’t have any shops in the area that my moms would drive me to, shit was just too far away. But now I try my best to support local.

I used to work at my local skate shop and I can confirm that people who work in the skate shop are skateboarders
Our local shop closed about 5 years ago. We don't really have a skate community. You see a lot of people barely skating longboards, but the streets and the skatepark are dead. It sucks. I order a lot of my stuff from Cal Surf in Minneapolis, a shop I went to all the time when I was a kid, if they don't have something I want I order from So Cal Skateshop.
My local skate shop is in a mall but it’s not a big box store. He is a local guy, RTX in Concord Mills. I make sure I support him because he is paying the crazy mall rent and he is a super nice guy.
