Very nice! Great video and tutorial. I literally just bought a HRV today and want to upgrade to bigger wheels and tires, do you think they sell lift kits for a 2024?
Thanks for the compliment! No, probably not for the 2024 yet. But if you contact HRG they'll be able to answer that. Here's a link to their website. hrgoffroad.com Thanks for watching and comenting!
I installed the HRG 1.5" lift kit a week after I bought my CRV so I can't say that it hurt my mileage. I'm getting 16 mpg HWY so I'm ok with that. The only thing that changed about the ride, is mud tires sing a little going down the road but not bad at all. Also you can tell that it handels differently (not bad different). Just alittle smoother, I think, from just the size of the tires, adds more to the dampening feel of the vehical. Hope this helps, thanks for watching and commenting!
I'm seeing a lot of posts with people also dropping the subframe/axles to make up for the stretch to the axles. A 1.5 inch lift with a 1 inch subframe drop still stretches the axles .5 inch. I'm curious how your rig is holding up after this lift and if your cv axles are holding up?
I paid close attention to my research before buying the 1.5" lift. I did not want to deal with axle bind! HRG told me that anything over a 1.5" lift will need a subframe drop. I only have the 1.5" lift installed and with no negative issues to date. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching! Also, be sure and have your front end aligned after the install.
What tire size would you recommend? I have a 2006 crv and going to install the same lift kit. But I don’t know what size tires to run. It is a 16 inch rim. I was thinking 225/75/16?
Mine are 235/75-R15. It took me a good bit of research before I settled on this tire size. Best thing to do is contact the techs at HRG, they will be able to tell you what's the best/biggest size of tire for your 2006. Here's a link to their main page. www.hrgoffroad.com/
just an fyi the 06 crv has a larger diameter front brake package than the older years. they will not fit any 15" wheel without large spacers. i would stick with 16". i have an 06 and bought 15" cragar soft 8 15x8 wheels with a 0 offset and they still wouldnt clear the brakes without a spacer. hope this helps.
If you have an issue with your springs then that will need to be addressed another way. A lift kit isn't the answer. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi,i,can You please tell me what is the maximum wheelsize without any lift, and after the 1,5" lift? I've got 215/65/16 atm and i'm willing to put on a 225/70/16 KO2's or 225/75/16 BFG trail terrain(they haven't got them in 225/70...). I would be very greatfull for any info...
235/75-R15 is the largest that you can use with out a lift, BUT! they do rub a small bit. This is on the 2nd Gen CRV, I'm not sure about other generations of this model.
@@CycleFab Thank You a lot...i just bought 225/70R16 KO2's now i''ll have to wait for a better weather and lift that CRV up! I'm also looking for some information about lifting spacers thickness, front and rear. It's hard to buy HRG or Aerogenics in my country, but there is a kit which comes with 24mm spacers(0,95") . And that's why i'm asking...will it lift to 1.5"
If you go above 1.5" there are other things that become involved as far as the drivetrain (axle binding) and that can get expensive. The 1.5" lift is suitable for my needs such as simple trailing/off roading. Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope this helped.
@@CycleFab Thank you so much for the response. Then i will go for the 1.5 inch so i can also run bigger tires! Im going trailing this fall so building up the car! You're videos have been really helpfull

@Cycle Fab Thanks for the help. 235 70 r16. (29" tall) are about the same size as a 235 75 r15. (28.9) tall. Width is the same (9.3") My 06 came with 16" wheels. I did the same 1.5" lift. Thanks for the help on the tires. Just didn't know whether I would need the wheel spacers.

That lift and those tires really improved the look of the CR-V! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you very much!
Installing lift kit next weekend, pretty cool video and awesome job explaining step by step.
Thank you very much! And good luck with your install!

Any problems after installing the lift? Was it simple as putting in the lift kit and not worrying about anything else? Been thinking of buying one
No problems whatsoever. You will need to have the front end alined after you install the HRG 1.5" lift kit. good luck with your project.
Subframe drop not needed im thinking of doing this job thank you

How much was alignment off
I don't remember exactly but it was definitely off. You'll need to get it aligned or do it yourself.
Do your 235 75 R16 tires rub after the lift install? With or without the Spacers?

so they do not rub with the lift...are you using the spacers still
