      @@brandenflasch thank you my dad sold it to me. Took a week because he was kinda up in the air about full self driving but Wednesday he said it's a little more money than I'd like but a better deal then not having self driving added. But my first full day of owning a tesla omg one foot driving is crazy but I'm getting used and comfortable with the speed now. Yesterday the car felt like it fast but today it doesn't feel fast it feels normal lol. How long did it take to get used to for you?

    I agree with you about disliking wireless charging pads. They don't efficiently charge the phone and heat up the battery, reducing phone battery life. Takes 2 secs to plug in a USB-C cable to my Galaxy S23.

    I went with the Lasfit mats for my Austin TX built '24 Model Y long range. Got the complete set with cargo mats and frunk and rear lower compartment mats for $179. The 3DMax mats have been crazy priced recently. I've found the cargo cover works quite well if you push up slightly on the rear of it to get it to slide down behind the rear seat backs.

    I don’t yet have a MY, but I appreciate your comments about the underdash lights and those for under the doors. How about an aftermarket display that can be mounted in front of the driver?
    I know I will be buying a used MY so I won’t be worried about voiding any warranty.

    Pucks.
    I got a set before my car arrived, and they sit in the frunk along with a 12v air compressor and tire gauge.
    I recently got a new set of tires (Nokia ONE) at America’s Tire. When I set up the appointment, I specifically asked if they had the pucks. “Yes,” was their reply.
    On the day of the appointment, I watched as they pulled my car in. They pulled over four floor jacks. Then the techs sort of looked lost. Someone brought over four large pieces of high density foam to my car. That is when I went in the service bay and asked, “Do you have the pucks you need for this car?”
    “No.”
    “I have them. You can use my set.”
    Crisis averted.
    The install went great. I’ve got about 500 miles in the tires (err, tyres) and they are great.
    And I’m really glad I had that set of pucks.

    Thanks for the tips, Branden. Note that the Tesla Mobile Charger now also comes with the NEMA 14-50 Adapter. Maybe your kit is older and did not included the 14-50 adapter. I also keep in my Model Y the Tesla Gen 2 NEMA Adapter set, a kit that I suspect you already know about. For those who don't know, this additional kit has 8 NEMA adapters, 2 of which duplicate the 5-15 and 14-50 adapters that are included with the mobile charger, and 6 additional NEMA adapters. All of the adapters in this kit work with the mobile charger kit. Are these additional adapters useful? Who can say. I just like having all of the options in that off chance that I'll need them.

    Here's a video idea: Assess the effect of a chin spoiler on range. ICE cars are so inefficient that the drag coefficient is not so critical, and adding spoilers, light bars, or a roof rack is not as noticeable. On FB pages, people marvel at the look of chin spoilers, but nobody has numbers on the impact on range. Knowing how much effort Tesla puts in to keep drag low, I think some folks are in for a surprise.

    • @brandenflasch
      @brandenflasch  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    • @lsauve
      @lsauve 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@brandenflasch Yes, if engineered properly. But some could be engineered to prioritize downforce. Some may not be engineered and tested at all (cosmetic only). Overall, I would expect Tesla to have already included features that can reduce drag. I realize Tesla is also focused on practicality, like clearing the curb.
