I can't believe the beauty of what I'm listening to. It wakes up so many feelings inside me. Feelings I didn't knew I had. Thank you Zola Jesus for your magnificent music.
Nika living on the hunt in the country made you strong. Don't forget your roots. Very powerful. Keep rocking ;) !!! Don't stop creating and don't get caught up in what isn't real! Love
It's not a song about love and romance for another.... It's a song about yourself. She's singing about comforting yourself in the end. Notice no one else is in the song but her... And the mirror sequence at the start.
As a fan of old school Goth punk, Post Punk, and "Industrial" rock, I have to say this is better than 90% percent of what passes for 'Goth" these days, both musically and as a music video.
It's getting late It's getting dark In the end of the night I can feel your warmth Come up close Close to me Coz In the end of the night I can feel you breathe Don't be afraid Don't be alarmed In the end of the night you're in my arms I'm on my bed My bed of stones But in the end of the night we'll rest our bones So don't you worry Just rest your head Coz in the end of the night we'll be together again You don't need to worry I'll make your bed And in the end of the night I can hold your hand So come close, close to me And I'll come closer to you Coz in the end of the night when all we have is gone Yes in the end of the night when I can be with you
@Elfi2007 Totally agree: the ghost of Siouxsie And The Banshees is looming over this beautiful song. For the video itself Zola Jesus seems to be a big David Lynch fan !
@MrRjmac agreed. Goth was always about creativity, not endless operatic metal stuff. (I would say that's not even goth, but whatever). This is MUCH more like it. More please.
this is so cool, its the atmos of apocoltyptic love . its so emotionally intense and dark but theres the knowing youll die victorious in your lovers arms.
The beginning scared the crap out of me for a second, cause I hit play on the video but I was looking at another page I had opened when all of a sudden I hear heels walking closer towards me without a clue where it was coming from.
I saw Zola Jesus live at the Bottle in Chicago last year. I did find the show pretty nice. I am a big 80's goth fan, though... I guess it explains it all. The video does not capture the scenic presence of this woman, nor does it do justice to the dark (and slightly kinky) atmosphere she generates. You need to see her live. Seriously.
This reminds me of late 90s Creatures when Siouxsie and Budgie went quite techno. Check out the track "2nd Floor" and you will see what I mean. This is derivative but it is done very well and that is a big part of making great records as after all this time nothing is truly original.
it's the whole genre,I like Walking Dead,VD,True Blood and although Teen Wolf to me isn't quite as awesome, werewolves are still cool enough I can watch it lol..ooh,Supernatural too, great show.
que canción más hermosa, me provocó tantas emociones que me agotó emocionalmente hablando, gracias por subirla

100% agree. Whoever does the music for this show is an absolute genius.

80s are back! I'm big fan of 80s so I'm happy to hear this!!
Just heard this familiar song again on the new ABC show: 'Emergence' ... Still love it!
It's getting late
It's getting dark
In the end of the night I can feel your warmth
Come up close
Close to me
Coz In the end of the night I can feel you breathe
Don't be afraid
Don't be alarmed
In the end of the night you're in my arms
I'm on my bed
My bed of stones
But in the end of the night we'll rest our bones
So don't you worry
Just rest your head
Coz in the end of the night we'll be together again
You don't need to worry
I'll make your bed
And in the end of the night I can hold your hand
So come close, close to me
And I'll come closer to you
Coz in the end of the night when all we have is gone
Yes in the end of the night when I can be with you
my fav song for this period

GREAT !! tres belle voix et une vraie ressamblance avec Siouxie and the benshees
Fantastic. She's paying tribute to the previous generation, and doing her own thing. I'm in love.
I love it. The voice, the dan flavian illumination, the gothci athmosphere, the Caravagggio apropriation
Definitely! I LOVE Teen Wolf. It's one of the many reasons why I look forward for the summer!
Beautiful voice and a beautiful song with a touch of Siouxsie Sioux
OMG i'm obsessed with this song
too short, so terribly too short, want more and more and more and more and more and more ... HYPNOTIC !!!!
omg ! its awesome ! why i didnt know this yet ?
I believe in Jesus, Zola Jesus.
Back to the (good bits) 80's!
I can't wait to see Zola Jesus in DC in April....
I CANT WAIT TO SEE THEM TONIGHT
Such sweet lyrics. The video is like a horror movie in a good way.
The first part of this video is the most esoteric reference I've ever scene, It's from a silent film from the 20's!!!!! AhhhHhh!!!!!
Magnifique! Accro à ce titre!!!
Beautiful!
I like it... It's very dark, mysterious and melancholic music..
I lovet it ! Great sound !
It's sounds like Siouxsie and the Banshees and goth bands from 80's.
This is great.
This song has so much emotion, good to see music with some soul in it now days
this is so cool, its the atmos of apocoltyptic love . its so emotionally intense and dark but theres the knowing youll die victorious in your lovers arms.
that opening is awesome...
Got to love this, reminiscent of Bat For Lashes but more openly goth, fantastic voice! Happy to have stumbled upon this, made my week for sure!
Love the song!!! video has a lot of infuence from peaches and fever ray... really amazing
was für Tolle Stimme... das Lied gibt Kraft.....
I arrived here due to an interview with Orbital posted on youtube. Her vocals feature on their new album. This tune was enjoyed!
Teen wolf introduces me to so much awesome music I might not have heard otherwise.
awesome song...
So so good. Glad it got into the top 10 on the nme 2010 song of the year!
Beautiful woman, beautiful voice
I Love it ! Great sound !
Great !
Video's awesome, pretty cool shift from the Clay Bodies vid. Hell of a team these two!
Teen Wolf brought me here. Love this song!
The Widow of the Badlands has arrived.
MasterM0K hell yeah
Yup
love the beat, the voice and video ! awsome! cant stop listening to that song :)
This is a cool song.
it's so wunderful slow.. :)
The Widow from "Into the Badlands" brought me here. ^_^
niiiice!
The 80s never died, they just need MOAR Goth bodies!!!...
This song is quite dark. It is the song that your grave sings to you. End of the night is death.
I admit that I love this song because of Teen Wolf...
The beginning scared the crap out of me for a second, cause I hit play on the video but I was looking at another page I had opened when all of a sudden I hear heels walking closer towards me without a clue where it was coming from.
Ok, listen to this at night at max sound....creepy but I enjoy it!
The internet is a lot more stimulating than TV because you have some autonomy. Watching TV is like being fed something with no interaction.
THE LAST BEAT OF MY HEART,
Please.
the voice, the woman ; AMAZING
Mirror scene = Le sang d'un poete
great Zola & beautiful video!!
Amo a esta mujer !!!!
oh my god i love Klaus, thats crazy because Klaus is also my favorite character on that show aha
What's the issue? She's a good artist that is being promoted through MTV, good for her she needs to get her name out.
The skins that anyone cares about is the UK one, which lasted six seasons until they decided to end it. it's really a fucking rad show.

She sounds a lot like Florence... I like her!
Great Song!
Zola Jesus is God!
Reminds me a lot of 'Meshes of the Afternoon'.
hey if I hadn't suffered through 2+seasons of Teen Wolf I never would have heard this..it's awesome
Muy en la onda de Cocteau !
thats fucking art
sooo good:)
. . . *Yes, in the end of the night, when I can be with you.* . . .
0:36 is a reference to The Blood of a Poet (1932) for those interested.
great stuff adding new things to the "goth" thing.
yeah, great vocal.
Esta canción, mi trauma personal!!
Awesome!! The type of music that should be on the radio, not some talentless girl on a wrecking ball

Even something with the depth of a pie tin can be dark with the lights out.
Fan since it was releaed. Still gives me David Lynch and Siouxsie vibes.
dobrej song
is this on itunes i want it
Pas mal, mais au final, c'est quoi le projet?! Un album comme ça, pas possible!
she will be featuring heavily in M83's new album... cant wait
it's the whole genre,I like Walking Dead,VD,True Blood and although Teen Wolf to me isn't quite as awesome, werewolves are still cool enough I can watch it lol..ooh,Supernatural too, great show.
Good morning from Singapore! Wish you'd have a nice evening =)
She needs definitely to collaborate with Katie Stelmanis from Austra, they are both amazing and their voices would match perfectly together
Wow, she sounds kind of like Fiona Apple. Love this song!
Wow, I almost thought this was Marina from Marina and the Diamonds when I heard it on the radio. She also reminds me of Bat for Lashes.
Haunting tone and a masterful sound
Skins has good taste in music!
P.s. Alison doesn't even know she tried to kill Scott, that's why she died D:
my good music taste brought me here.
@dfstarborn Six is an amazing album. The last album that came close was Mars Volta - Deloused in the Comatarium.
