Got a 2002 1.3L Auto with 87k,had it 10 yrs with no issues at all. These cars are for the city so don't expect it to handle good at 80mph.Only spent £200 in 10 yrs...brake pads £27 (Brembo) Sale from euro car parts, mid & back exhaust £70 ish ebay and V-belts fitted at garage parts & labour £100.Still runs sweet and gets 47 MPG even from an auto! Best car i've ever owned, cheap, reliable, quick, parts cheap and so easy to maintain.I change the oil 3k as i do little miles.£41 Toyota genuine ATF,complete brake fluid change £8 ish...did myself.P/S change £9 ish did myself and be fine for 50.000 miles. Oil filter £5.25 yearlt & air filter £9 (3 yrs) both Blue Print.NGK Spark plugs x4 £8 every 3 yrs.

I just got a 2002 1.3 manual. It's a little rocket on my country roads. Just how you drive it

@@flynnferguson1120 Nice.....I still have my Yaris,13yrs now....realized i purchased in Dec 2009 lol Still no issues! Just fitted both Blue Print ADT38555 Stabiliser Links at £13.66 for both,my Mot had an advisory on it in Oct last year,2002,didn't fail but i replaced them anyway. My car feels much more better on the steering, wow! Get Blueprint oil & air filters, they're good & cheap.Rear shocks & coils are cheap and easy to replace yourself :) Look after it and it'll look after you. P.S My car now has just over 90,000 miiles, still sweet as a nut.Get a Blue Print ADT32109 Oil Filter,Blue Print ADT32262 Air Filter & BKR5EYA-11 spark plugs. My plugs were sort of fine at 4 yrs old in Dec 2020.....the tips were fine, but the ceramic had like brown marks and looked burnt....i replaced them just in time!

@@flynnferguson1120 Nice, rear springs are so easy, youtube videos on them, never dont front ones...so far. Give the throttle body a clean, remove and clean out the PCV (easy to do) Use carb cleaner,it's located here......mine was so dirty! th-cam.com/video/VikC_7NlIy8/w-d-xo.html

I hated when everybody was saying "you will get used with the cluster location". I never got used to it. And yes, the interior plastics were horrible but overall the car was the best engineered car in the past 20 years. The next Yaris generation was much less well done with very bad seats and poor suspension

I have one from the year 2000, and it is still strong... don't see why I would want to buy another car soon.

Whenever I see a video of one of these, all I get see is comment specifically praising its reliability, almost nothing else.

That oval segmented fuel gauge pictogram reminds me of the belly of a cockroach...just with the legs missing.
