    Great video, brought back memories of my mum's X-reg 1.3 SR which looked great in black, as well as my grandma's 03-reg 1.0 T3. I drove both occasionally and they were pretty nice little things to drive - the 1.0 wasn't actually too slow in reality. Had forgotten all about the sliding rear seat! They'd be a cracking first car for sure.

    • @DanielDrives
      @DanielDrives  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 1.0 engines are actually pretty zippy, definitely a surprise. There’s quite a few tricks with the Yaris, like the seatbelt holders that somehow I never noticed. It’s the Japanese being very Japanese!

    I have to say. I just passed my driving test. Got myself a 2004 automatic Toyota Yaris. It has been absolutely fantastic the past few weeks. I gave a watch just to see if I missed anything. I got a fm Bluetooth transmitter that seems to make up for the lack of an aux jack. Little fact mines name is Stacey.

    • @DanielDrives
      @DanielDrives  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s great. Stacey sounds like a keeper. An FM transmitter is a good solution to the problem, although I imagine there’s a way to wire in an aux cable (not neatly though :D)
      I wish you many happy miles with Stacey.

    And it's actually quite easy once you know how to do it. 😀
    And it's quite amazing, how much more space you've got in the boot afterwards. 😊

    If any of you ever have a problem with tail light fuse 7.5amp blowing continuously. Fuse is located drivers side under the steering wheel. Its most likely rear corroded light bulb socket. Water is known to get past the seal sits in the light casing over time & rots the plug causing a mysterious problem. Remove the light 10mm nut & reseal it. Hope my experience helps somebody! Last month i bough yaris tsport 106 hp 2001 ( prefacelift) and apart from small things needs to be changed there is zero problem so far.The catalytic converter is removed ( i guess the seller sell it for profit :( the good thing is for now in our country nobody is forcing yoo to have one ) The throttle response is very good ,gears short shift switching is pleasant.The car is easy to park , always will find a place to park it . I really like the high driving position and the big door , its easy to get in and out.Coming from e36 tds touring and i dont want to ride so low to the ground ( my racers days are gone i guess, almost 30 years old :D ) For 20 years old car there are plenty of cheap parts new and second hand.

    That creaky clutch pedal noise is the ratchet? Put some grease on the cable in the engine bay,that may help. The 1.0L is heard as the best engine ever produced,with the bhp & reliability it's no wonder. Had a 2002 1.3L for 14yrs, best car i ever had. I looked after it well with no issues whatsoever. Never failed an MOT nor any advisory on rust,my rear beam was in great cond, you gotta look after it. I used a can of WD40 or GT88 everywhere, 3x a year under the back,front,engine bay.rear beam,brake calipers,pipes the whole nine years. Sold it 2 yrs ago & still speak to the new owner,still not failed/any advisory on the MOT. Only slight rust on rear wheel arches which i places these edge protectors,inside these edge protectors i put in grease.

      P.S. I'd trade 50 Fiats for one Toyota.
      Here in Straya Fiat has a terrible reputation for reliability, second hand one's are practically worthless while Toyota San cars hold their value like houses.

      @@MrWilliam.Stewart thank you, William! Insurance is a lot more here in England, sadly, and rust can be an issue with the salt that is spread on our roads.
      Fiat don’t have a very bad reputation here, you get the odd person against them but overall they are pretty good and ours has been great so far (putting aside some minor electronic issues which are now sorted)...
      I’m loving the Fiat life, although I’d be lying to say I didn’t miss the Toyota.

    How much would you pay for this car. The ideal price?

    • @DanielDrives

      The prices range quite a lot. For a higher mileage older Yaris, expect to pay from £400-£800, but for a clean low mileage example, expect to pay £800-£1200 ish...

      Just because the car is built in France doesn't mean that it will fall into pieces, he said multiple times that they had no problems with it, also the diesel engines for both the Yaris and the other Toyota models are built and developed in the same factory. Even the north American models starting with the 3rd generation model are built in France since 2012.

      Valeo is for headlights. Denso doesn't make headlights. The Japanese made Yaris has headlights from another brand but it's not Denso. Sensors, filters and ignition coils are Denso for the French made Yaris as well.
