I have been with a 2003 Vitz (Japan variant) pair style for around a year and a half. It has a 1.0litre engine, air conditioning, full wide attached seats with middle arm rest, all electric windows, electrical folding side mirrors and electric mirrors, and my automatic gear knob is attached to the side of the steering. Very comfortable. Found it at only just 96,000km for €1700. No complains so far and for a small car, I find it very comfortable especially since I’m 6’1 tall.
To be fair, it's truly a Yaris with the standard 4-speed automatic and the l4 engine. Drove one from the same model year and the ride did not feel disappointing. May be a little heavy on the gas than the successors, which is concerning these days given the global situation these months, but it's worth driving regardless and can easily be the second car.
Had the manual version in 2002, was very impressive performance/ fuel consumption for the time, also bulletproof reliability, kind of fancy one now for the nostalgia!!!
Very good review. Nice job. I am in Canada. I have an Echo RS 4-door. This is the same at the mark 1 Yaris. I love this little car. It is my daily runabout and I'm surprised at how much I've grown to love the car. It's a 5 speed manual. So reliable and great on gas. I just wish we got as many amenities in Canada for this car. It's hard to find parts for this car. I need to discover a resource for buying parts in Europe or Japan. I'm excited to see how your project goes. Good luck.
I imported a 2004 ncp15 (4 dr AT 4wd) into Canada in 2019 it’s been great and so much fun to drive in the winter. I’ve got great winter tires and the 4wd gives me confidence driving in the heavy snow. Wish it was manual but oh well. Have fun!
@@gryphon123456 I've never driven a Matrix but my Vitz aint that fast at all lol She reliable though. Some model from like 2002 to 2011 came with 4Wd in JDM only. Don't know why they never brought that to the Canada market, these cars are cheap and reliable AF. Win-win.

From the UK here, owned a 2002 1.3L 4sp for 14yrs, stunningly brilliant car if looked after. I got 49mpg best on motorway & roughly 34mpg town.

Manual transmission used to do about 3-4 liters per 100 if driven carefully

Congratz! The MT is not so good... makes problems.. how long do you have your Echo now?

In my 2004 toyata Yaris t2 1.0litre , I can’t find my central locking button in my car , some help please :(

I think the more important its the info....
