The stump was mostly dead and didn't take any time to grind the stump. In fact he ran to the store to get me a drink and I was almost done by the time he got back. Thanks for watching the video
@@ChrissStumpGrinding I get it entirely, I'm just starting out. All I have is a little RG13 handlebar. I have a SG40 being built for me in late July. I always try to give a good deal when people cold approach me like that as well. I figure I can knock off the cost of driving since usually they are close by and you're already in the grinding mode mood. Plus it makes the customer really happy to get same day service like that, has to be good for future call backs I figure.

I do a lot of jobs that same way people walk up to me or drive by and ask how much to do a stump and if I'm there I give them a good price because I don't have to drive back.
Me too, Dana. The gas has gotten so bad that it's not worth driving or coming back for a small job if they don't want to do it right now.
@@ChrissStumpGrinding I always give them the price of what it is for me to do right now and then and then if I Have to come back to do it if they decide to do it later. I always tell them I have a $250 minimum or a mom or a $400 minimum depending on what it is if I have to come back. You have to calculate in what it costs you to drive there to come back
I have an old Vermeer 630 b. I get a lot of work like that also. I have a tree business and grind a lot of my own stumps. I’ve always said there more money ( per hour ) in grinding than cutting. I’m in Ga do get a lot of pines.
Sammy Stephens, my dad started with a 630 b. I guess i got started first watching him grind and he found me a 252 Vermeer. Keep grinding sir!!!

No, I just charge forty-five for the small one. I just made $500 on doing several small stumps. So, I cut this guy a deal of the day thinking it was all rotten.
