    I`d rather grind the smaller stumps too. It`s easier on the machine and usually good money.
    I have a $150 min just to show up with my machine that will cover up to about a 12" - 14" stump any thing bigger goes up depending how long I think I will be there.

    Your RAYCO does fast work on those stumps with less stress on your body. It helps to have the right equipment for the job. What does a rig like that cost with a trailer? Do you ever have trouble getting paid after the job is done? Thanks.

      @starman6092, I bought my setup in 2011 with the trailer for around $22,000 with 700 hrs on it. The right equipment does make the difference in a job. Thanks for watching!!

    That grinder, looks like best beast for a buck. I see they’re going for around 20k for a good condition used, which blows away the less powerful newer models.

      I've seen situations where the wife wants the husband to rent a machine and grind the stump. After he finds the cost and estimates the work it will take to pick it up, transport it to the work site, do the work which he is not familiar with, clean the machine, fill it with fuel and transport it back to the rental place, he sees that it's a bargain to have someone show up, disappear the stump while he drinks a few beers.

    looks like you are going pretty deep. Are you getting the whole root ball out? Or do you have to leave some wood in the ground with that grinder?

    • @ChrissStumpGrinding
      @ChrissStumpGrinding  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I am grinding small stumps like two foot or less, I grind the whole stump out. I try to go four to six inches deep for grass to grow. Thanks for watching!

    Is that a Deutz diesel? I'm looking at a 2003 super 50 66hp. They are asking $30k for it. Right now I own a Vermeer Sc30tx. Just wondered if you have had many engine issues or problems getting parts. Thanks for the great videos.

      Jeremie, I have had no problems at all out of the motor. I have changed belts, batteries, and Hydraulic hoses the most. I would buy another in a heartbeat at a good price. Yes, It's a 2004 Rayco rg50 super 50 66hp. It will make you money. Thanks for watching!!!

    I'm renting 1 for the first time to do a bunch of jobs from trees I cut for people. How deep should I go below ground level?

    • @ChrissStumpGrinding
      @ChrissStumpGrinding  ปีที่แล้ว

      Justin Sigmon, it depends on if planting a tree or just growing grass. If its grass I would say 4 to 6 inches is good. Thanks for watching!!!

      unless you have a huge demand in your area.

    I recently sold my stump grinding
    business here in Brisbane Australia, and I had the same problem that you are having, so many times I would go to a job and after doing quoted amount of stumps the customer would miraculously find another one or two for me to do for free of course never fell for that trap. I had a minimum charge of $100 and sometimes it was a real battle people on the stand that you give them a quote and want to have given them that quote they would want to be

    • @ChrissStumpGrinding
      @ChrissStumpGrinding  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Peter, when you start out, I think everyone goes through the same thing with customers. I think everybody is charging a hundred-dollar minimum. Thanks for watching!

      @@ChrissStumpGrinding I got a $500 minimum on bigger ones and $250 on the small ones but I also clean and fill standard. If someone wants to clean up on their own then I come down some.
