Hey Danny. How do you record the sound of the headset? I noticed another behaviour in recording when its done through Audacity (Windows MME or DirecSound recording devices) instead in a certified application like Skype or Teams. Just curious as I am doing side by side tests for myself to analyze recording quality.
Hi Flexigum! For recording this video, I used Windows 10 Camera App on my laptop and when I was out by pool, I used Voice Recorder App on my mobile phone. I sometimes use OBS Studio and select the device I'm testing as Audio Input source. Beyond the video, I do test across Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, 8x8, Google Meet, and other collaboration platforms. I also record and playback. Beyond audio, I also test for call control (ability to answer/end calls from the headset). I also test volume control, mute and what happens if I am in a Zoom call and I get a mobile call and vice versa. I may start adding those clips, mention it, or create videos focused specifically on those topics.
That's pretty impressive ambient cancellation, but it did kind of reinforce the problem I've been having with a pair of Jabra in-ear bluetooth monitors. Namely, when I'm in a really noisy environment, like a coffee shop, with blenders and grinders and steam wands going off every ten seconds, people on the receiving end of my calls tell me my voice cuts in and out and gets garbled. Obviously, a roaring vitamix and blaring TV are the extreme example, but it does go to show that even when optimized to actually work with Teams & UC, Jabra's enterprise-class hardware has the same problem stepping noticeably on the voice frequencies they are trying to put center-stage. In nearly every video mic test review I've watched/heard, the boom-up position is orders of magnitude worse than down, and most closely mimics their non UC-optimized mobile performance. I have a pair inbound from Amazon, and I' m hoping the extra focus of the boom mic and improved ambient noise rejection (combined with the beefier, dedicated Bluetooth "dongle") finally puts an end to the complaints about my mic quality on WebEx calls.

Hi Edmund, I wrote a blog explaining the difference between NC (Noise canceling) mics and ANC (Active Noise Canceling) speakers: www.calloneinc.com/whats-the-difference-between-anc-and-nc/ In addition to having a strong performing NC mic, the Evolve2 75 has ANC speakers. The ANC is good however, it's not as strong at the Evovle2 85 or Bose QuietComfort 45 or Sony WH-1000XM4.

@@CallOneInc I use mac mini hooked up to the Link 380 USB dongle. My Jabra Direct software both headset and dongle firmware was updated. I also selected the Link 380 dongle via sound preferences for audio output and input. I used sound from a youtube video to mimic office sound and I did not get the same results you did. I clearly heard the office sound and I placed my cell phone behind me and still the mic was picking up the office noise. I used the voice memo app from my mac mini to record the audio to test and was very disappointed.
