Curry Paste:
Fresh Granted Coconut- 1cup (1/2 coconut)
Onion - 1 medium size roughly chopped
Dry red chillies - 8 to 9
Kashmiri chillies - 4
Coriander seeds - ½ tsp.
Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp.
Tamarind -1 small lemon size ball
Water as required
Final fish curry:
Oil -2 tsp
Onion -1 medium size finely chopped
Tomato -1 small size roughly chopped
Fresh Coriander Leaves
Green chili - 1
dry Prawns - 1 cup
finely chopped fresh coriander leaves
Coconut curry paste
METHOD
Step 1:
Remove head of dry prawns and discard it. Thoroughly wash dry prawns 4 to 5 times in clean water. Once dry prawns washed water comes clean without any dirt then soak dry prawns in clean water and meanwhile prepare for curry.
Step 2:
Add all ingredients mentioned above in a mixer grinder jar and grind to a fine paste.
Step 3:
In a kadai or pan, add oil once oil heats. Add chopped onion and saute till its translucent. Add green chili, chopped coriander leaves and chopped tomato. Saute till tomato become soft. Now add ground curry paste, add water and adjust its consistency. Curry gravy should be in medium consistency neither too thin or thick. Cook for 5 minutes on medium to high flame. After 5 minutes add soaked dry prawns (squeeze-soaked water). Cook for another 5 minutes on medium to high flame. Keep stirring in between. Now add salt to taste and cook for 2 more minutes. Finely add chopped coriander leaves. Switch off the gas. Delicious goan dry prawns curry is ready to serve.
Serve dry prawns curry with hot steamed rice and fish fry. Enjoy it with lunch or dinner.
