*Ehem*... Sleep paralysis is a state of REM as he explained. Believe it or not, this happens to you every night... But when you get sleep paralysis you still are in REM. If you were in sleep paralysis and focused on that darkness for a bit... You will start to see colors... This is called the hallucinogenic state. However since your in REM... There is a way to get out and turn it into a Lucid Dream (a dream where you are conscious and aware that you're in a dream and can basically do anything you want and control the world around you) all you have to do is chill ... You might see things or feel things but be as calm as possible while closing your eyes you will reach the hallucinogenic state... Wait until those colors begin to be more 3d than before... Then, make something like a white canvas that you can paint and really make sure you're seeing that... Then paint where you want to be... Picture the sounds you hear, what you feel and really focus on that world you made... Soon you will fall asleep while still into the dream and you can do and go wherever you want... Thanks for letting me explain and thank you for taking your time to read this! (If you want to go try this method then you need to do an induction called WILD... Look it up because I'm not explaining that)

This happend to me too, and it was on Christmas, this is why elves scare me. I woke up on my floor (at the time I slept on a bunkbed) I woke up on the floor, and I tried to get up, I was so confused how it happend, I tried to get up but then I could not move. Then I looked and I saw my door open, "that's weird, I always sleep with my door closed," then an elf ran through my door, I tried to yell for help, but I could not move. It's hand was up, looking at me, AND IT WAS FAST. In a second, it was at me. Then, BOOM, I was back in my bed, and I didn't sleep walk, so there was no way I walked down and then back, so when I woke up, I thought it had to be a dream. But here's the scary thing. My brother was walking to my room to get some water bottles bc the bottles were next to my room, he went to get water for him and his girlfriend, but he saw me on the floor, shaking. When he told me in the morning, and he said that my eyes where open, and I was mumbling, he said he could not understand me. He said he tried to help me, but I was pushing him away from me, we had cameras, but when we looked in them, THEY DIED. They almost never died. We had an elf at the time, Then when I went and looked for him, there was a note on my desk, in messy handwriting, "your welcome" and at that moment. I was SCARED.

When I was younger, I was obsessed with FNAF. One night, after what was probably hours of binging FNAF Game Theory's and Markiplier let's plays, I had gone to bed and was just trying to fall asleep. Suddenly, dozens of characters from FNAF just appeared in front of my bed, slowly approaching, and I was completely powerless. After a few seconds they just disappeared, and I promptly ran to my parents. Even though this was years ago, it still is just such a horrifying memory, probably one of the scariest moments of my life because of how real it felt.
When I was little and slender man was scary to everyone I was sleeping and I was on a top bunk of a bunkbed the all is saw was a very tall figure that was all black next to my was and I tried to look away but I couldn’t it was just standing there and I was so scared as soon as it went away I put my cover over my head and did get up for a few more hours

I've experienced many sleep paralysisis in my life. And in every single time I had it I couldn't move, couldn't scream, heard the voices of people talking, could only move my pupils, and strange figures. It's not that common for me but it happens when you sleep on your back ( mostly happens to me when I do that so I just lay on my side ) or when you're really stressed. ( Does not happen to me ) :D.

BTW sleep paralysis has a scientific meaning, it usually happens if the person is sleeping or resting in a place with low air pressure or little to no air at all, this is due to the fact that the muscles aren't oxygenated enough to move also including the brain which explains why we see these strange dark creatures and figures. They're basically hallucinations because of low air, now this might be wrong so correct me if i am

I think i had it before or atleast something simular, i remember it vividly, i remember waking going to sleep in the dream and waking up on the floor with my blanket, i couldn't move or anything but i saw something come out of the end of my blanket and i tried screeming and looking to my side seeing my brother, we both were screeming but no sound, and then the "demon" rushed at me and i woke up, my heart pounding and me not being able to go back to sleep

This happened to me when I was seven. Didnt see anything like a monster but I'd just woken up form one of the weirdest dystopian nightmares. Was stuck in bed for a good 10 minutes which at the time felt like hours...worst part was that I tried calling out for someone but I couldn't speak... one of the most vivid memories I have from my childhood

Stuff like this is actually happened to me too, but on those cases, I were not able to open up my eyes, but I could feel someone breathing down my neck and I was like fully unable to move at all, no matter how hard I tried
Ngl in my tests like the important one after I’m done I sleep (I’m allowed to) and all the time I sleep I couldn’t move and that happens all the time to me and I’m traumatized bc of this and it never stops and when I wake up I jump like someone jump scared me..

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS SLEEP PARALYSIS
I do but scarier.
Because I was 11 years old on 2014 October, I had sleep paralysis but it was actually different, I can move my head even my own body but I couldn't get up to my bed and once I pulled the comfy cover... I saw a creature with a female body but it has no eyes and I was so scared that I pulled down my cover but when I pulled it back up it moved closer but still no eyes same creature but horrific and I pulled it down again in fear and up, but it isn't there... so I got up and walking to get a cup of water but suddenly... 2 babies in a casket was outside on the 2nd balcony but small and I threw them out of the balcony, no I mean THROW THEM OUT OF THE BALCONY so once I did that I saw 2 more kids but they were like 6 years old and I yelled at these kids and they got scared from my yell but then my mother came back from work and she saw them and said " why is there kids there?" I told her why but then my mother strangly was happy? them again were scared and I thrown them off of the balcony but then...
I woke up in fear, breathing fast, I grabbed my phone and it was 9:23 a.m and I today I still remember that.

@jojogacha974 lethal company. It's a small game that blew up. You go through different buildings trying to pick up enough worth of items to not get killed by the company. There are different monsters in the buildings.

@joshc7931 A few audio only ones I had were Pikachu making motorcycle sounds, hearing some sort of alien talking or computer binary sound, normal sounds sounding distorted, and me aggressively hissing at whatever visual hallucination I would have that one particular night if I opened my eyes.

Depending on the type of sleep paralysis you can also hear voices, it can also be painful trying to move and you can’t say a word no matter how hard you try
That's kind of real though, morbid curiosity. I have had sleep paralysis a few times in my life and honestly I could see why people would be curious about how it feels. Nothing in the world feels remotely the same to sleep paralysis lol
Btw if you listen to music you will hear a annoying and scary music at background of sleep paralysis and u see nightmares of things you already saw or as a theory or the thing that you would scare the most during that time btw I had sleep paralysis 12 times but only 3 of them was eyes open and in one of them I was able to open and close my eyes and dont if you feel like ur unable to move while waking up stop thinking if you figure out you are in sleep paralysis it starts making nightmares cuz your brain tought about what could happen if u are in sleep paralysis and does the most annoying sound u can hear in life and scary figures if you focus on your eyes than annoying sound that u rage over and sleep paralysis lasts about 30 seconds to 30 minutes and since u are in waking up and dreaming state you might time skip without realizing in it and if you have sleep paralysis when you have gone to bed you wont be able to sleep that time because your body will broke and your body will think itself is sleeping while ur awake and you will have no sleep while feeling like ur in bed sleeping out at night and pretty annoying if you have school or job tomorrow and thanks for reading my reply that long
To get sleep paralysis you have to be unhealthy sleep anytime also sleep in a weird or uncomfortable way or sleep on something slighty hard and there you go!
Also sleep when ur very tired and dont drink water before (to prevent slee paralysis when ur going to bed super tired drink water works for me)@NotYshowa3021
