I swear, the art style, the music, and the cotdarn choreography in this movie was fire! One of the best adaptations I've ever seen. This anime/OVA is f*ckin' gorgeous! I wish there was a SFIII anime/OVA done like this, shame we never got one at all. The SFIV anime/OVA was poop, music poop, art style poop, fight choreography poop.

Probably because Ryu and Ken grew up together and were genuine friends from the beginning (not the very start but close enough) whereas Goku and Vegeta see each other as mostly rivals that tried to kill each other when they first meet and still hated each others guts until Vegeta was (temporarily) killed by Frieza. And even then, they only really became friends until the end of the Buu saga. Of course those two relationships would be different.
I had this movie on unofficial VHS in 90s... that boss fight when the jpop kicks in... and those connecting punches and pace 💯. This one is a classic that deserved a follow up

For years since this OVA came out I was wondering what Ken's flashback when he proposes to Eliza had to do with anything. Now I realize that it meant that continuing his obsession to go after Ryu could lead him to die and miss out on everything else and that he and Ryu will always be brothers, but the reality is that he won't be there forever. Very thoughtful story for these characters before the stories were basically implemented on the videogames the OVA was made from to begin with. Also...man the special effects on lighting were even better than ANYTHING today, and they were already using CGI animation for this OVA when it was made.
@@GKerim If you saw the movie in English they stupidly changed the original Japanese score, also the English version has 2 distinctive dubs, the 1st had the ignorant mispronunciation of the characters' names like Ryu pronounced Rah EE OOH, and made the dialogue cringy with the wrong tones, with stupid heavy metal music that does not fit the moments. Then the 2nd redubbed pronounces the names properly and the Score is changed to be a bit more resembling the Japanese one, plus it got the digital clean up for the most resent players.
the friendship that was made through hardship and training bonded with trust has more depth of meaning to Ken then the time he proposed to his woman. That is the scene's meanig. some folks just not mature enough to get it.

One of the best anime adaptations of Street Fighter! together SF Alpha animated and movie and SF2 Anime movie the story in general of the video game has a spectacular Lore with Ryu and Ken Without a doubt, if Capcom adapted an anime from the beginning of Street Fighter 1 and Sf Alpha, the faithful story of the video game would be a success, at the level of the greats like Kimetsu no Yaiba, Naruto or DbSuper.

happy 35th anniversary street fighter!!! :3 love how the final battle's lyrics fit with the 2 fighting for their live but finally meeting again and stopping the big threat to their world that nearly corrupted them combining their strength defeating him together.(do wish chun li got involved in the final battle with how an instrumental verson of it plays earlier when she starts to defeat vega.)

OP enough to create force fields, teleportation, projectiles, mind control at will, he has The Force but no red lightsaber, and his body looks to be the same size as Balrog's. M. Bison doesn't even need the Psycho Crusher and Knee Press Nightmare in his fight scenes because his powers made him invincible. M. Bison from the Street Fighter II game (and four editions) however, his body is normally the same size as Guile, and can only fly and manifest strange flames, Akuma would easily end him. But the movie version is where Akuma would meet his match.

I like to think the japanese soundtrack embodies the spiritual side of Martial Arts , while the American soundtrack projects the adrenaline fueled brutality of a Street Brawl , it's like watching two different movies.
