Richard, your two videos bought back so many memories of our trip there back in September 21. Just a truly amazing place! We did exactly the same as you looking for the otter but thankfully got lucky in the end. Just want to return after seeing your two videos. 👍😀
Hi Ian, So glad you enjoyed the videos and thanks for watching them. It’s an incredible place isn’t it and I look forward to return myself in a few months 😊
Another stunning video. Photographers such as yourself, Dan Willis & Dani Connor Wild have inspired me to travel to the Forest How guest house & to Paul's reflection pool hide near Hawes too (Red Squirrels are a huge favourite of mine). Towards the end of May i'm travelling to Mull & am booked on 2 trips with Mull Charters in the hope of watching & photographing the Eagles. I'm not a professional photographer, but am really keen to see an otter in the wild with my own eyes & wondered if you could advise me where to look. If i get a decent image, then i will be chuffed. Keep up the great work & i look forward to more video's in the future.
I really enjoyed your videos. Looking forward to watching your adventures as they unfold. Chance encounters with locals rock. Don't be afraid to ask people while your out and about as often they turn into gold for us wildlife photographers.
Nice film Richard, reminded me of every time I go to Mull. Patience and good eyesight is whats needed in abundance!! Chuffed you got the experience you were after. Well done👌🎥📷
Finally found the time to watch the whole video after catching the last part of the live showing. This was absolutely amazing. The love and respect you have for wildlife transcend all your videos and we are privileged to share in your journey 🙏
A great vlog and lovely footage of the Otter 👍 It's a place I hold close to my heart and had around fifteen trips to the island over as many years. Looks like you was on Loch Scridain which as you found out is a great area for otters. Also a great area for golden Eagle and hen harrier! When you have another trip give Loch Na Keal a try too. For me personally I think that Loch is much better for Otter. The south Bank being the best anywhere from the jetty going west. You need to scan the kelp when the water is going down or is already low. Many times you will find them on there and not in open water which most people think. Keep up the great work 👍👍
Ive gotten hundreds of shots of North American River Otters here at my local Park Huntely Meadows Park in Virginia. it was an amazing experience when they were here for the few months they visited the park.last year and early in 2021 january.
Truly blessed 🙏 I’m so grateful that you shared this with us. I might have just caught the last bit of the live but it was amazing. Will watch the full video for sure. Thanks again 👏👏
Absolutely amazing! Beautiful footage, and so pleased the perseverance paid off in the end! We’ve seen otters on Skye and NW Sutherland, but have yet to make it to Mull. Hopefully soon! Sam
Thanks Sam. Honestly Mull is incredible, since this video I’ve been back a few times and I’ve fallen in love with the place. Thanks for watching the videos too, I really appreciate it 👍
Awesome video. Well made and well edited. Your channel deserves way more attension. We have Otters in my country as well. Mostly along the coastline. I have never seen one before though. Thumbs up and greetings from one of your subscribers in Norway 🇧🇻
Happy for you that you're efforts where rewarded. I can absolutely understand the excitement that you felt. I think I had my barnowl/otter moment the first time I got clos enough to get some good photos of seals. And yes every time since that I feel the same excitement when ever I managed to get close to them seals. Greetings from a fellow nature photographer on the Åland Islands in Finland.
Hi there - terrific video. I'm taking a trip to Shetland soon and need a good jacket for the trip - would you recommend the one you use and what is it - thanks in advance - Dave
Thank you, I really appreciate you watching the video. Since filming these, I have been back to Mull many times and have seen otters in many places, and all over loch scridain. If you send me an email I can be a bit more specific 😊
Coming back to watch this video again before heading to Mull in a few weeks! How close were you able to get? And I'm assuming no issues going down to the shore on the loch? Thanks!
Awesome footage Richard. I have been on wildlife holiday, saw osprey, pine marten, minke whale but no otters. Many thanks for sharing from a new subscriber. 🙂
@@mywildlifeimages we had good luck and had a very,( 2 to 3 feet away), encounter with an otter before we even got to our accomodation on the first day. Saw otters 3 times in all, once in the sea hunting and twice on land. Lovely island and we were lucky to get great weather too.
This comment is amazing! I'm heading over to mull in the next few days to photograph some of the wildlife, I've been before but I only managed to see a mink because I went to all of the wrong spots so I was worried I was going to have to turn on full detective mode to find out where you were :'D bloody love these videos :)

Hi Jack,
Send me an email richard@richardcampionphotography.com and I can help - I’ll be there for 3 weeks in two weeks time 👍
We are going to Mull in around 10 days time. Hoping to find some otters while we are there. Where on the island did you get to see the Otters?
Thats awesome. Loch Scridain was where I had most luck :)

@@vamboroolz1612 that sounds wonderful and I’m so glad you found some otters 😀
Your audio is fine & I often have trouble hearing things.
Thank you!
Where about's on Mull did you see the Otter looks like the north side of Loch na Keal ?
Hi Russ,
This wasn’t on Loch Na Keal, it was further south on Scridain 👍 thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 😊
