Love your channel Tom. I never comment though. My bad. I was looking at these at Home Depot a couple of days ago. They had them for 199.00 already assembled. Of course I had to look to you for information. I’m not sold on it. Thank you sir.
Thanks for Watching and Supporting! I not sold on it either
Thank you for the review and being letting us know your thoughts and showing it in action. Appreciated.
Thanks for Watching!
Thanks for sharing, Tom 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you. I was tempted by this grill but I'm so glad I went with the SnS Kettle and Billows fan now.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review
Thanks for Watching Chad!
Thanks for being honest Tom,, witch you always are.. great information..
Thanks for watching Tom!
Good review, Tom. Glad a got the Venom and installed it on my old Weber 22 in. kettle.
Thanks for Watching Phillip!
I clicked like because of the shout out to the Auto Kamado, I love that grill!
Thanks for watching and liking!
Very helpful and honest review.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for buying and reviewing these new grills, Tom, i greatly appreciate it! Any griddles in the future? Maybe the Weber 36"? Thanks for your content and take care!
Thanks for Watching! Time will tell…..
Thanks for the great review, Tom! This needs to be about half that price and it needs to work as advertised.
I agree! Thanks for Watching!
I just saw it at Buc-Ees for $250 and came here to see how the review was. That's about the price of a decent Weber kettle, and this might have a little better features. Doesn't look worth $400 though.
@mrupright Thanks for watching! Agreed
Lucky for you it’s $200 at bass pro
Not sure how I missed this video a month ago Tom, but great review! I did just pickup the auto Kamado during a Labor Day sale at HD for $330! I love it! Sure, it’s not perfect compared to a $1000+ Kamado, but it works great! Haven’t even used lump charcoal yet. Been using B&B briquettes and I recently also tried the Jealous Devil briquettes as well. Love them both. Flavor MAYBE a little better with the Jealous Devil. But anyway, I can go 5 cooks in between emptying the ash. Thing is so darn efficient. Don’t mind paying for the better charcoal when you use so little!
Thanks for Watching! Appreciate the feedback!
Good review as usual and good recommendation on the auto kamado thats why i got one.. i even did some modifications on it to improve my low n slow cooks but honestly its a GR8 cooker out th gate.. thaks again for your honest review
Thanks Pete! Appreciate the feedback and support
Thanks for the review I sure hope Weber will come out with this
Thanks for Watching Joe! I agree
Thank you Tom, straight forward candid evaluation done professionally. Ralph Nader and Consumer Reports would haven't done better. Please, continue to look out for our interests!
Thanks for watching! Appreciate the feedback
Ralph Nater would be too scared of a bbq pit to touch one
No way , thanks for the honest review Tom
Thanks for Watching!
Thanks Tom for the review, SnS kettle for that money is hard to match
Thanks for Watching!
Nice review Tom. I saw one of these used near me and was curious. I'll stick with my Weber and will probably buy a billows since I can use it with just about any cooker.
Thanks for Watching Jim!
I own one and does a great job smoking! I agree get it installed at store. I bought mine out of curiosity ! I buy and sale smokers after using them and was somewhat happy with it while I had it. It did not go thru charcoal quick like it did for you. I have done couple butts on it 8 hours on one basket. Curious if you have cooked on it or have done a review after using it. I actually ended up giving mine to my son in law to teach him how to smoke meat. I think that’s where it shines. If your new to smoking give it a try.
Thanks for Watching! Appreciate the feedback
I wouldn't worry about side gaps. Even webers need a burn in to get a tight seal or strip of lavaseal. But I agree with your other concerns. They make a griddle which I'm also Leary of.
Thanks for Watching! Agreed!
Thanks Tom. I would go for the Auto Kamado first ( I had the standard Chargriller Kamado, just not enough real estate for me). I would skip the Loco and the Spider Venom. I had the Spider Venom which was sub par so I had to return it. I have the 26" Kettle with one mod which is a great setup for me. I would like to see the Hunsaker air direct review from you for the Weber Kettle. It is sort of a slow and sear with the griddle thrown in at a much cheaper price. That is my only mod. You have to use a disposible water pan under the meat if you want moisture.
Thanks for watching! I’ll check it out, Thanks
I agree with you, Tom. Not worth it. I love my Auto Kamado. I just wish they had done a better job with the temp probe. Great video, as always, my friend 😎
Thanks for watching Mike! Agreed
Great review Tom. I agree with all others in the comments, way too expensive for what it can & can't do well. A standard Weber kettle online runs anywhere from $89 - $130, and then add the Spider Venom for $199, and you've got a great setup that works, and costs less overall. I have a standard Weber Performer with the Spider Venom, and it runs as good as a pellet grill, and holds temps consistently. I guess that's the setup LoCo Grills was trying to copy, but it looks like they didn't execute it well enough. I like the diffuser plate design, but that's about all.
Thanks for Watching! Appreciate the feedback!
Home Depot has a special buy on it right now for $199. Personally, I'll stick with my Weber Performer with the drop table cart.
Thanks for Watching John! Good to know
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I tried looking on their Website to see where it is made. No information. I see the ashes must drop through to the ash pan but apparently you need to pull the starter tray. Like I said I'll keep my Performer that has the drop down side table cart. I have yet to use it as a grill. I've done a lot of indirect smoking on it.
Good initial review but why not review it again after cooking on it a little bit? How does it do with smoking?
Weber+Venom>Loco POS........I've been wondering how this grill would perform thanks for the video Tom! I couldn't believe it ran through the charcoal that fast!
Thanks for Watching Mike!
Great video as always. I have a side question. What stand/holder are you using for your tablet?
Thanks for watching Mark! It’s an old one that I got on Amazon years ago. The new iPad doesn’t even fit on it
Nice review Tom! Not worth the money and a 3 hour assembly….that’s crazy. Thanks for sharing Tom, very much appreciated. Cheers!
Thanks for Watching Jay!
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQdoes the 3 hour assembly include power tools?
@whatfreedom7 yes
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ dang that does take some time. I’m sure with a few beers and leaving some unnecessary hardware out I could cut that time down.
🤩🤩🤩
Wish I had watched your review before buying. Gaskets failed the first use, fan won't kick in. Got mine for $299 new at Home Depot, but waiting on a response from the company and may return mine and get something better
Thanks for watching!
Could you possibly place a thicker sealant Gasket on that "leaky" ash draw and retest to see if that cures that issue ? and more "constant" Temperatures are maintained ???
Thanks for watching! Curvature of the metal of the door doesn’t even come close to where it seats on the grill
So then it's simply a "design flaw"....that no amount of quality gasket replacement would correct that issue ?
Correct, it would also need latches on both ends to hold it tight, or just eliminate it altogether
👍👍👍👍
Just saw today at my local home depot for $200. Looks like they are trying to get rid of them. Cool idea though
Thanks for Watching! Agreed, good idea, poor execution….
Hey Tom, when you gonna get a Weber Smokey mountain???
Thanks for watching Jason! It’s on the list
Interesting grill but the Auto Komado offers much more for a similar price. On sale for $255 its a no brainer. I still love my Weber and SNS kettles. This guy seems like a red headed step child.
Thanks for Watching! Ok…
Where is the auto kamado on sale for $255 at?
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ the grill, not you Tom! 🙂
Just saw these at my Home Depot for $299. Not a bad price.
Thanks for Watching!
$249 bassPro..bought it yesterday
@@TheSaborines sweet deal.
No cooking video on this grill?
Thanks for Watching! Sorry, no
What do you think about the Vision Komodos that Home Depot sells?
Thanks for watching! Had one, worked well
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ why'd you get rid of it?
Replaced with the Chargriller auto Kamado
Wow! Seems like they didn’t do quite enough R&D.
Agreed! Thanks for Watching!
I'll Stick to a weber and a spyder grill attachment
Thanks for Watching! Me too!
Where are these manufactured?
Thanks for Watching Michael! China
Well not for my money…..spider grills blower is far superior……it looks nice but a long way to go to make it worth $400!!!
Thanks for Watching Robert! I agree
In case you haven't bought a grill yet, this grill is on sale for half off at Cabela's. I got it today for $200. I'd say it should definitely be worth the money now
Looks cool but for the money, i feel like i would buy an auto kamabo first.
As would I! Thanks for Watching
That’s one fancy pants grill. Sorry it’s not working properly.
Thanks for watching Bug Lew!
$199 at bass pro today . Worth it at that price?
Thanks for Watching! I think it is…
I was thinking, wait until the end of the season and get one dirt cheap, but when Tom can't find one positive thing about it, I'm a hard pass at any price.
Thanks for watching Ted! 3 hrs of assembly…. That’s crazy!
You gotta be a little Loco to buy this LoCo.
Thanks for watching! Lol
From what I saw in your review, I wouldn’t buy it. Seems like LOCO had a good CONCEPT, but tried to pack too much into a brand new grill and they had to cut a lot of corners to keep it at a reasonable price point (although I do think $400 is too high). I think that in the process, they missed the mark by trying to outdo Weber with gimmicks that they didn’t test long enough before bringing it to market
Thanks for watching Jack! I agree!
If it took you three hours I'd likely take five. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching! Incredible amount of assembly……
Como
Thanks for Watching!
مذهل
Interesting but probably not $400 worth of interesting. Thanks!
Thanks for Watching Rob! I agree!
Thanks for the review i'm not buying that thing!
Thanks for Watching Rob! Agreed!
Great review Tom, this is a pass imo as well.
Thanks for watching Eric! Agreed
What do you care? You didn't have to pay for it
Thanks for Watching! Lol, if you watched you saw that I did pay full price
