Nice upgrade. Never thought of that. Was thinking of doing an extra light in the hatch. Don't be scared to take panels off. I've taken off my door cards and hatch panels in the past. Go back on just as easy. No rattles 2 years since I did it.
I actually did try going through the panel, but realized it will be more work and part of the wire will be visible. I found my way of doing it easier and cleaner
Great clean OEM+ mod. I never liked how there are no ambient lighting at all in the rear seats. For front, we have lit - open latch, close handle, blue strip on upper trim, footwell, AND door sill... while for rear there's zero!
Great video, i have a mk6, i took a different approach i followed the airbag wires for my seats , so quite abit extra work, i also made my own wiring harness 😅 as i had all the parts laying around from another retro fit
Good sir, followed your guide and it worked like a charm!!! Thanks for this. Only problem I had was with the matte plastic housing that sits around the back black led cover, was too thick so I needed to cut it down to the right size so that it fit in the back seat hole. 👍🏾
Hi, I will follow these steps for my Arteon R definitely just waiting to receive the light. I see that you have illuminated door sill have you upgraded this to or is it stock on the Golf R? Would like to change this if its possible cause I have it just with the logo on the brushed metal part of the sill without light…
@Kenan Handzic thank for reaching out! I am sure you will like them rear footwell lights as well. The door sill lightings on the the Golf R do come standard. I am almost certain that someone have done such retrofit on others VW platform. Just search around or do some research for such interchangeable parts.

I see a problem. It's blocking the knee airbag. The correct place to run the cable would be the door pillar to access the seat. The centre part is not the right place even though it works properly.
www.vwgolf.org/images/books/1/B5K-0512.png here is a photo of where the airbag deployment zone is. The harness is way down below near the pedals and not at all in the way of the marked zone. Give it a closer look and let me know… Thanks for your concern.
Thanks for the video. I’ll do it in my Passat B8, already bought it from the link you describe.
You are welcome 👍🏻

Glad it worked out well! That is exactly the same issue on the rear right passenger lights. I had to do the same thing.
Mate can you do a installation video for oem ambient lightning
I do have this in mind. It is possible doable if I can source some parts.
Excelente!!! 💡
Thanks for shearing this.
You’re welcome bro!

@@kenanhandzic829Hello, were there any problems with the installation of the lamps in the Arteon
Ciao, ma le luci vano piedi posteriore vanno collegate con quelle anteriori senza apportare altre modifiche? Grazie

@@JNBTuning nice thanks
You’re welcome!
Did the front retain the brightness or got a bit dim?
I didn’t notice any difference, but I didn’t really do any before and after comparison. I can see that the rear is slightly brighter though.
hello where did you buy the cable please? thank you
Is the LED bulb the exact same as the front foot well lights? As in, if I have blue lights can they be swapped in
Yes they are the exact type of footwell bulb housing and connectors. You can definitely replace them
Have u had any issues with it since then or is it fine?
No issues at all! I don’t see how these OEM harnesses will fail, but the usual bulb replacement long term.
Can I ask where did buy your lights?
Please check under the description
Will it work the same on the base golfs ? TSI
Should work on the golf as well. Given the front footwell lights exist in the process
@@JNBTuning Thanks very much
