- What is a Möbius strip? If you’ve never heard of it, that’s alright. Neil deGrasse Tyson and comic co-host Chuck Nice are here to explain what exactly is going on with a Möbius strip.
Neil gets crafty to show us how a Möbius strip only has one side. What would a Möbius strip look like in higher dimensions? You’ll learn about a Klein bottle. All that, plus, Neil tells us about tesseracts and why he’ll stick to calling them 4D cubes.

@jesusbermudez6775what did Columbus discover? I've only heard of the story of him 'discovering' the Americas, of which people had been visiting for centuries prior and inhabiting for quite a while as well. I didn't know he had any actual discoveries other than that illegitimate one

I don't know if there is going to be a better time or place to ask this; I LOVE the idea of mathematical short stories. They combine two of my favourite things! Can Startalk or anyone out there recommend a book for me? I had no idea this sort of thing even existed and it has me very excited. Please respond to this if you have any ideas, I am highly interested.

The coolest thing about Mobius strips: If you take two Mobius strips that have opposite chirality (ie one is twisted to the left and one to the right) and tape them together, and then cut them in half, you end up with two interlocking hearts.
If you take two möbius strips with the same chirality you end up with a boat and a thing...
My mind was blown and I got to laugh and smile during this! Gotta love StarTalk!

Man I love learning
Many years ago, when my kids were young, we were very broke. So broke that a friend lent us a pre-lit fake Christmas tree. We had no decorations at all. (The tree had only clear lights.) My kids were sad that we didn't have decorations. What I did have was a metric F ton of printer paper. We sat at the table and made Mobius strips of many, many sizes to decorate the tree. It was magnificent! One of our favorite trees! (Dad taught me about Mobius strips when I was very young, so I handed down the magic.)

This is the first time in all of my 24 years and seven months where I truly don't understand something, even after it was explained in a simple way, and I'm a bonafide nerd/geek. I saw how it happened but still cannot understand why.

Theres an infinity line running through any cube which means you can scale an image of a cube so it goes small to infinity or large to infinity. When you draw a cube there are bisecting lines you can use to draw a cube within a cube. Its similar to holding a mirror in front of a mirror, A, B, AB, O
