I saw the foot and thought, "Well, surely this will be the most unexpected thing in the video."
But then he made a square from 2 circles.

+Gustav Einarsson Yes, he has a lecture series on introductory Topology, I highly recommend it. He does a few more examples of this kind in the first lecture, what I will say is that an introductory course in Linear Algebra will give you a bit more insight into some of his examples and exercises but other than that it's pretty self contained given that you have at least gone through introductory undergrad Calculus, that is what I would say is the minimum amount of mathematical rigor that you should be exposed to before taking this course, at least if you want to go through the whole thing. But if you'd just like to hear him talk you could watch the introduction lecture to that course, it's pretty damn entertaining.

Hopefully this guy is a teacher somewhere and there are either young kids, learning teenagers or interested adults who are taking what has got to be an incredibly interesting class.
It was presentation like this and teachers who took the time to put enough 'fun' into what could otherwise be very dull and lifeless material that really left an impression on me, made me wanting to learn and so on.
If only every child could grow up with teachers with this level of skill, care and enthusiasm about whatever they were teaching, I'd think the world would be a better place overall.
So er, if you grew up with such be grateful, if you did not please don't let it ruin your desire to learn. It can, in fact, be genuinely fun, not just boring busy work you'll never have any use for.

I was messing around with these, and cut a strip off of each side simultaneously, with pretty neat results.
If you take a Mobious strip and fold it in half all the way around, you run into a problem that seems to say the shape is not really "one sided." I mean, aside from the fact that you can see both sides of it.

This precise paper trick helped me get through a hospital stay. when you only have paper and tape, this is how I sculpt.

So, if you take a couple of straight loopers that ultimately would end up square in a flat existence, but instead you make them twisted, - they ultimately become a pair of entwined hearts. Magical mathematics!

I made a mobius loop (kind of) that has NO chirality!
Step one: make the mobius loop like usual,
Step two: make a cut half way into the loop, not down the center, but from the edge TO the center.
Step three: make a cut down the center, but not all the way (like 2 inches.)
Step four: turn the strip so it has opposite chirality to the other, and tape it back together like that, and you will have a 3 edged, 1 sided object. (WHEW!)
