Not really, it's obviously intentional. I think the reason Nintendo made these songs so similar is because they're kinda meant to be the same song but with slight changes in some of the instruments and tune. But with the same overall melody. I'm guessing it's meant to be the theme for the secondary main character or characters

Thanks! When I originally had the idea for this mashup, I looked online to see if it already existed. But the only one I found went out of sync after 30 seconds and was off-key. So I decided to make my own version that's correctly pitch-shifted with the tempo altered to match the other song.

Interesting. Did you realize that the talking fish in WW greatly resembles Groose? Just look at the figurine in Carlov's studio. He's even got a red dorsal fin like Groose's pompadour!
