Hi, since I changed the seats, the headlights of my car no longer adjust automatically, any solution?

What ballast did you have? Mine looks exactly like yours but all of the ones I look up for e46 are totally different.

@@TheJGJR9 at this point there is no point to change anything in that head unit. Just get aftermarket ones and install LED bulbs

So was it the ballast or the broken wires? I also have broken wires and they are very hard to replace - it would have been interesting to film your process. Either way - Kudos to you for putting this up! Highly valuable material - I hit a high curb and my lights went out trying to diagnose now has been no joke. Thanks again!

This was a bad ballast. The wires were found bad during replacement so they could well be the cause for ballast to go bad. I soldered new wiring on passenger side and now the driver side went bad, its next to be redone, I will try to film it when I get to it but it might be a long video because the process took me 2 hrs on the other light. A very tedious process almost a surgery but it's better than buying another used light that might be not in much better shape inside and better than buying Chinese knockoffs that I still sometimes consider but always stop myself from buying them.

@@Kobe29261 for the wires, i used liquid electrical tape on the E60. I would rather have soldered new wires but the damage was too severe i had no room for soldering.

My headlight bolts are rounded off and I can't get the cluster out. Csn the ballast be removed from underneath the car with the headlight assembly in situ?

S SINGH What bolts are rounded off exactly?
It's not worth even thinking about changing a ballast while the headlight assembly is still in the vehicle because of the lack of clearance and access inside the headlight.
Drill the bolts heads out with a good drill and good bit and replace with similar, that's hours worth easier than any alternative option.

Alex K thanks for the reply alex. I am trying to remove headlight as the xenons are not firing up on one side of the car. I've swapped over bulbs but the same side stays out indicating bulbs are fine. Would i be right in thinking the problem is with the ballast/ignitor, or is there a fuse for each side that may have blown? Thanks.
