      Did you buy your new lenses online? If so, what site? Thanks!

    Thank you so much just replaced the covers on my 2005 325xi and your guide helped so much. Didn't have to remove the headlights, just loosen the turn light

    Thank you. Used this video as a guide for replacing mine. I also found (after doing the first lense) that the headlight did not have to be removed. And a trip to the hardware store to purchase a magnetic screw retriever to recover the lost torx bit and adapter. The blinker light came off without removing the headlight.

    You did not need to take the headlight off. Only the blinker. Regards

    Thank you so much for the video! $30 or $40 for a new lens online? That is great to hear! Recently a BMW dealer told me a lens replacement would cost $600 each! Glad I didn't have the lens replacement done there. My 2003 325i badly needs headlight lens replacement. I tried a cleaning product that was supposed to clear the lens, but it didn't do any good and I got the run around when I asked a repair shop to clean the lenses. Ordering them online is definitely the way to go. Thank you!

    Very helpful. One important addition....on my 2003 e46 the two top screws have DIFFERENT threads than the two lower screws. Put all 4 screws in a cup and first screw I grabbed for the top would not go in as it was one of the bottom screws.

    I'm sure you heard of using heat to soften the butyl sealant between the headlight and the lens. I'm sure it would help removing the lens/prevent breaking any parts. The units used in this video didn't seem to have any, strangely, just some gasket. Not sure if all e46s are like that. I wonder if the lack of sealant may be causing issues with condensation or premature yellowing of the lens.

      Sealant is on e46 coupe and convertibles. Sedan headlights are different and the cover is removable.

    Thanks heaps for the vid!! Just wanted to add, probably the best time to chuck on a clear film wrap to protect from fogging or polish protector

    I have an 03 325xi wagon, I'm getting condensation inside the lenses and there doesn't appear to be s reason for this that conforms with logic, any ideas?

      I should say it is just my turn signal lights, not my headlights.

    What about the moisture in the turn signal housing? That seems to be a common issue. I replaced them and they still do it.

      I believe I ordered them from a bmw supplier but not a dealer. As far as I know, they are still working fine.

    You did not seem to have any fitment issue with these. Would you share a link to the actual product or site?

    No NEED to remove the headlights!!!!! Just remove the trim piece and the turn lights that will give u the room you need to do the job ... the video creates unnecessary work!!!!!!!!!!

    • @okcvet1st
      @okcvet1st  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's much easier to pull the headlight out. Everyone's will be different. Yours might come right off, but like these lenses, I had to tug on them several times all the way around to get them out. The extra 5 mins to remove it keeps you from breaking the tabs when the lense won't just come right off. I've done many lenses, with both headlight in and removed. Overall, I'd still say it's better to remove the light to give full access around the light.

      @@okcvet1st thank you i see so many times people on TH-cam don't bother taking of the headlight but people don't realize how much harder it is to do things when you don't have the right space for it
