Delicious banana fritters
Brings back precious childhood memories
Thank you so much Leander 🙂
My grandchildren love banana fritters. I use milk, eggs, baking powder, vanilla, flour and sugar, salt. Never water. I have not tried it with coconut. When they were very young, they would sit around the island, and tell me the ingredients. Now they are 12 & 10. My son and his wife enjoy them as well. I use unsalted butter for frying. Because of the quantity, it takes time to fry, using the largest pan. I enjoy making them. Thank you for sharing your recipes. God Bless.
Dee Dee Lawrence, thank you for sharing your wonderful thoughts and memories with us. We have used equal quantities of water & milk. In Mumbai we never used Coconut in the Filos but here in Goa It's a common practice. That's why I asked viewers to tell us which they prefer. It will give us an idea about their taste preference. Do take care & have a nice day!
My grandchildren are bilingual, and refer to them as 'crepe de banan'. Thank you and God Bless.
Wow, that's so cute Dee Dee Lawrence 😃 Nice to connect with you. Have a great day🌞

👍
Nice recipe.yes baking powder is required.
Anil, we don't use baking powder in the traditional Goan Banana Filos recipe. Some people started adding it now taking cues from the pan cake recipe.
Plz make pomfret rasiyado thanks
Jacqueline, will definitely do that soon 🙂
Very good recipe 😋 stay connected always 💖 you are the best 💖
Thank you so much for your lovely wishes 🙂
I've not yet prepared them but I prefer with coconut, if coconut available, awesome it would be if it was tender. Moreover, I prefer to mix vanilla essence with a smattering of cardamom powder
Thank you Orville for your valuable feedback and also for sharing your recipe tip! God Bless 🙏
Thank you @@GetCookingNow
You're welcome Orville 🙂
This is how unni appam is made in kerala. Ofc without egg!
Snowberrymuffin, Thank you so much for sharing this insight.

Recipe is very nice and easy. 👌🏼👌🏼
Can l skip egg ?
I am Non Vegetarian person, but if any Veg person will come at my home. That time l can not put egg in it. So asking.
Thanks for Sharing Nice Recipe with Tips. You explained it in details. I liked it because l like to make Recipe with exact Ration 😊
Sushmita, Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback. Yes, you can skip the egg no problem. Just add quarter cup more milk to make up for the egg. 🙂
@@GetCookingNow Thank you. May l know your name and location ?
I am from Mumbai 😊
If you will write Ratio in Description, it will easy to all.
Sushmita, my name is Ladislaw but you can call me Ladi. I'm currently based in Goa but I'm born and brought up in Mumbai 🙂
@@GetCookingNow Good. I am from Goregaon. 😊
Sushmita, I lived in Fort, Mumbai 🙂
With coconut is more tasty ❤
Lifa, Thank you so much for your valuable feedback 🙂
Maam please show us how to do Goan fish sambaracho powder fish sambar powder Goan .
Jean, we will definitely look into this recipe 🙂
I make these quite often, avoid sugar or jaggery, I use a little baking powder, they turn fluffy,no water,a little milk Coconut and jaggery with wheat flour are another way of making filhos,no bananas
Thank you so much Greta for sharing your feedback. Yes there are so many variations to make Filos but I specially like the recipe we shared because we added more Bananas & lesser flour. I've got childhood memories associated with this taste. The only difference is that we used All purpose flour instead of Wheat Flour. But you have the option of using Wheat flour with this recipe too. Thanks once again for sharing your thoughts 🙂
You can use oats flour instead of Maida for a healthier pancake.
Uma, I've never tried it with oats flour, but It should be fine. Do try it out and let me know how it turns out. 🙂
I like this way with coconut n without
Thank you so much Lubina for your feedback 🙂
Try it out with Kerala banana cut into small pieces
Corita, okay will definitely give it a try. It also tastes good with Elachi Banana! The small ones with a nice sweet taste.🙂
It is simply banana pan cake
Kiran, generally in pancakes you add baking powder which makes it fluffy. Also you add more quantity of dough vis a vis banana. But in the Goan version we add more banana less flour and no baking powder. Do try this recipe and give me your feedback.🙂
@@GetCookingNow ok
👍
Good one, can you mention the quantity of the flour and jaggery in grams
Anthony, It's better to have the measurements in cups. If we give in grams the weight differs from person to person & is not consistent. 🙂
Sir I am vegetarian so without egg is it possible or otherwise use breaking powder/ pinch of soda
Shraddha, you can make it without adding egg. Just add an extra quarter cup of milk. No need to add baking powder or soda.
Looks good - can you avoid egg? Coconut for me pls! 😊
Yes Hardip, you can easily skip egg but there will be a slight difference in taste. Also egg helps in binding & holding everything together 🙂
Do u take orders also
Black panther, We do not take orders as we want people to cook wholesome food at home 🙂
Can you put in the mixer
Yes Peter, You can use the mixer, but please ensure to maintain proper consistency of the batter, don't make it watery.
Hi thanks for the recipe, the Cup you used is 200 or 250 ml. Thanks
You're welcome Sneha 🙂
The cup we used is 250ml.
Any substitute for egg .what can I add instead of egg?
Uma, You can skip the egg & add a little extra milk to compensate for the quantity of liquid lost due to the omission of the egg. 🙂
Goan curry
Luisa, could you please explain what you mean by Goan Curry?
Do you not use baking powder
Thomas, We didn't use Baking powder for this recipe 🙂
Substitute for egg?
Sujabiji, just add 1/4 cup of extra milk to compensate for the lack of egg.
With coconut
Thank you so much Marie for sharing your valuable feedback.
God Bless 🙏
Can we skip eggs?
Bharati, Yes you can skip the egg. To make up for the loss of liquid from the egg, add around 1/4 cup of milk to compensate. 🙂
Can I avoid egg?
You can avoid eggs but the texture will not be the same! The egg works as a binding agent.🙂
Without coconut
Thank you so much Annita for your valuable feedback 🙂
How much flour
Steve, All the details are mentioned in the video & also in the description box. 🙂
Without coconut.
Stephen, Thanks for your response🙂
W/o coconut
Thank you so much for your feedback Ryan 🙂
I watched it but not tasted., therefore can't comment.
Gmichael, Do try it out soon, I'm sure you'll love it 🙂
Show borose recepee
Meena, What is borose recipe?
This is same as pancake
Shravya, It's the Goan version of the pancake. It doesn't contain baking powder. Also the quantity of Banana to Flour is also different. Do try the recipe and give me your feedback 🙂
Ther r 3 Sant in Goa konkani uloin world famous vodlei Sant jalei people stayig in foreign countries like konkani in Goa it is opposite from day 1 konkani is crying for help Goan behave like 3 monkeys konkani is a holy povitr language not kriadachim bhass must learn from other states countries n our own 3 Sant never had problem with konkani ganti speak konkani better than Goan will start giving konkani tuition for Goans
Ida, I'm sure you have a point, but you yourself have written in English. Ideally your comment should have been in Konkani then what you're saying would have made more sense. Anyways I wish & Pray that Konkani language is spoken freely between Goans and hope someday we Goans don't have to learn Konkani from outsiders in Goa.
God Bless 🙏
