Hey! I just bought the same AKD lights for my 7.5 R, but I can’t run the dynamic turn signals. I have a Canadian spec one, do you know how I can fix it?
Did they give you a harness with coding instructions? I think NAR spec 7.5Rs still share the same channel for brake and turn so you'll need harness and coding that puts the turn signal on its own channel.
@@Nihalum they gave me a adaptor to connect to the taillights and 2 yellow wires on each side to connect inner and outer tails. They did not give me any coding instructions, my current signals are same as my brakes. I don’t know how to code for dynamic indicators to work.
@@Tiger_Leung Hmm, maybe you can ask the seller for instructions? Hard to tell what channels you'll need to change without actually seeing how the harness is pinned out.

@@soobs8 When you select what current tail lights you have, if you select the halogen they include a harness for you. Personally i'd suggest you order a harness from ZERO815 from the golfmk7 forums, cheap and very high quality, and it's documented with coding instructions. My car has the full ROW wiring to the BCM so I did not use a harness for this set. I'm going OEMs now though so I got myself a harness from ZERO815, can't recommend him enough
@@soobs8 Fitment isn't perfect on these, and at the start of the video you can see the brake lights are delayed when the running lights aren't on, since it takes time for the lights to power up. There's another video on youtube of the smoked AKD lights that showcase the same issue
The delay is because the lights need to power up first then turn on. If you have running lights on all the time then there is no delay (I ran it like that until my OEM set arrived). The OEM lights have a dedicated pin that gives it constant power, which is one of the reasons why you need a specific wiring harness for it. I wanted them for the animation as well, and I swapped to OEM a week after. Not because these are worse than other reps, just because the OEMs are noticeably better than reps.
@@Nihalum i was looking at oem ones, quite expensive in uk, plus i need appropriate harness and coding. As my car is mk7 2014 model. I was also looking at vland ones. But akd animation is something else. So you are saying if have running lights on there wont be any delay?
Does it work with original facelift tail lights ?
