  • In this video I am sharing with you the best recipe to make perfect Parsi Mawa Cake right at home... Mawa Cake or Khoya Cake is a Parsi dessert which is available mostly in Parsi or Irani Bakeries... But with this recipe you can easily make them at home and they come out really rich and tasty... Do try it out... I am sure everyone will love it!
    Ingredients:
    ------------------
    Plain Flour - 250 grams
    Powdered Sugar - 250 grams
    Mawa (Khoya) - 250 grams
    Butter - 250 grams
    Eggs - 6 large
    Cardamom Powder - 1 teaspoon
    Baking Powder - 1 teaspoon
    Vanilla Essence - 1 teaspoon

    I tried this cake
    To help all bakers -
    I did add 1/2 tsp baking soda
    Also 8 tbsp of fine Rava/ semolina soaked in 1/2 cup milk
    It came out extremely well
    Too good and delicious

    Hi Tulika.
    Tried your recipe today. It turned out very nice. Thank you for this awesome recipe. I did make a few changes. I added a 1/8 tsp of baking soda (soda-bi-carb) to the flour. I also used only four eggs as eggs at my place are big (I live abroad) so I weighed the eggs and took only 250gms. Also the cake was done in a little less than an hour (45-50 mins and the cake was done) with the wooden skewer coming out clean. Maybe it was because I did the cake in a Bundt pan. I made the khoya myself as again here in Malaysia we don’t get good quality khoya. Used full fat milk (1.5 lts would yield 250gms khoya) putting it out here so that it might be useful for someone else.

    Hey I tried your mawa cake recipe it was same like merwans cake shop from ages I am looking for this recipe it was super yummy...the one thing I want to share that I don't have measuring tools so,I took ingredients without any measurements...still it came out super....go for this recipe guys it was marvelous 😍

    i made this cake with 50gms less sugar bcoz i like my cakes a bit less sweet but texture wise it was soft and i kept it for 3 hrs cooling and ate it the next day making the taste come out better.. thank u for this recipe

    This is typical Parsi, only the best ingredients. Safran is missing though. I m glad I stopped by, as never heard of a Mawa Cake. Very nice made. Thanks a lot for sharing.

      Olga, you can make the khoya at home. It’s very easy. 1.5lts full fat milk has to be condensed. It took me an hour to dry out the milk.

      Make it on kadhai.place salt in kadhai then heat salt make cake battar then cook

      Khoya/Mawa important hai is cake mein... use aap condensed milk ke saath nahi replace kar sakte.

    Mane aaj ye recipe try kiya but isme bichme se cake paka hi nathi batter waste ka ease hi reh gaya 60min rakhne k bad bhi Mane 25min aur rakha what must be the reason can u please help

      Hum normally cake cook hua hai ya nahi dekhne ke liye beech me knife daal ke dekhte Hain.... But is cake me mawa hone ke karan aap agar garam cake me knife dalenge to melted mawa chipak ke niklega knife pe.... Aap cake ko poori tarah thanda karne ke baad dekhiye cake ekdum perfect cook hua hoga... Cake Thanda hone me 4-5 ghante lag jaayega... Mawa Thanda hone me time lagta hai... Hope it helps.
