Helpful video, thanks! I'm deciding between the 12" version of these and Yamaha DBR12 for live vocal/guitar FOH in small venues. I think they are both likely to meet my needs well. You mentioned the EQ settings - I think I could fix these with my offboard mixer by running the speaker-EQ on "Flat", right? My interpretation of "Flat" is all EQ settings at zero dB (no boosts or drops at any frequency)
I own both IRX10BTs and Eon 610s. IRXs have significant flaws: power button is not latching, which means that you need to press it to turn on (can't use a power strip for on/off) and if you lose power briefly, it will go off and not come back; and the EQ presets reset to flat when powered on. I use these for my (fairly quiet) rock band mains and/or monitors. Just for vocals primarily. IRX are way more portable. And way less bass response. For our lead vocalist who has a bassy voice (and maybe for another vocalist who wishes he had a bassy voice), the Eon is WAY better. IRX doesn't cut it. For the two singers in the band who want less bass and more clarity, the IRX is way better. Bummer, eh? We've been using one of each and attempting to pan appropriately. If your band once a thinner sound from the vocals, and doesn't need to reinforce the bass or bass drum very much, might work well. Haven't had luck yet using the bass boost button (which is latching) or EQ presets (which aren't), but will try a bit more. As for vocal floor monitors, IRX has much better physical properties (smaller, more stable), but the thin sound could discourage some vocalists, and that wouldn't be good.
I've been using 1 of the IRX12BT for a few gigs and they've been great. Feel like there's lots of power in it. That said I am having distortion issues. Not running the desk hot but struggling to get the balance right in the channel 1&2 and master. Any advice? Might keep it as a super monitor and then get something else like the EONS for FOH
Go with JBL you will be more satisfied, JBL is a better company with better product, pinch the pennies save up and pull the trigger on JBL's they are superior in my opinion.
Thanks for watching and your question. Depends on your wants and the crowd size . For friends and family.... I believe one is good. The speaker sounds great and is loud . Unfortunately it does not have a built in battery and needs to be plugged into a outlet. It is Bluetooth thou and portable as it’s smaller and lighter than most PA speakers . Thank you.
That’s a good question? I don’t have my IRX speakers anymore but according to specs the SPL is 127db which is the Same for both IRX and 700 series… Both are great but Clarity might edge out with the IRX . 700 series might edge out a little more low end .. My opinion.
My thoughts.. QSC speakers are a DJ standard of great! … (my opinion) but I have not heard the cp8 . And normally the price of QSC keeps me looking for good but value. I have heard the cp12s . Volume , low range , clarity , all QSC . But these JBL are great too in the clarity department. Best voice midrange I’ve heard …almost Monitor Speaker like. dj’s will mostly use the irx series as a monitor type speaker but I’d use them for small party gigs or at wedding head table. Final thoughts.. IRX might compare to the CP series in 2nd place but not to some other QSC speakers. Thanks for watching and your question.

Hey, thanks for the info - i've just brought 2 x IRX 112BT's and they are pretty good - I host free form dance sessions in 3 different venues, just wondering if you had any feedback on them at all. I know they are pretty similar but Im just wanting to make sure i get the best out of them. TIA
Thanks for watching and your feedback. I don’t have much extra they are similar in most ways except size/volume of coarse but I’m sure you will enjoy the music ducking feature and the feedback suppression feature. Both should help with hosting and music. I would mess with the EQ settings to see if you like any of them. (Everyone’s ear is different).. Although I mostly leave them off for a flat sound unless I’m talking a lot with them. Then I’ll use the speech EQ. Thanks.
