  • This tutorial shows how to use the "Falling Leaves" template to create custom, 3D leaf animations in Adobe After Effects. Learn more at creationeffect....
    "Falling Leaves" lets users create 3D leaf animations in Adobe After Effects. Leaves can follow a 3D motion path - making it easy to animate leaves blowing in swirls, or around 3D titles. Just drop in a leaf image into the comp, then choose from 10 finished leaf animation presets. The presets can be customized with easy-to-use controls. Included is a library of over 40 images, featuring a variety of leaves, flower petals, or dandelion seeds. Or, you can use your own leaf image.
    The leaves will sway, fold, and spin in 3D as they fall or blow in the wind. Use them as transitions, in motion design, or composite them with footage. Compatible After Effects CC 2019 and up. No plugins required.
    Watch the Falling Leaves demo video here: • Make Falling Leaves Bl...
    Template Features:
    Image Library- 41 high-res images of leaves and petals of various shapes and colors. You can insert your own image of a leaf, or use an image of anything that you need to fall or float like a leaf, such as sheets of paper, confetti, or dollar bills.
    Finished presets - 10 customizable leaf animation presets to get you started, including all the animations seen in the demo video above.
    Total customization - Using convenient slider controls, you can control every stage of the animation, including their variation, the way they fold, rotate, spin on their axis, or sway back and forth.
    3D - Not only do leaves fold and spin in three dimensions, but you can move groups of leaves along 3D motion paths, like leaves blowing in the wind.
    Works with 3D lights & cameras - The leaves are 3D layers, allowing them to cast and receive shadows. Adjust the light layers to match the lighting in your footage.
    HD or 4K - The effect works the same in any resolution.

    Hello, I'm new to this After Effect and wonder if there is any way I can make this a perfect loop for a gif? Thank you so much!

    • @creationeffects
      @creationeffects  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. There's no way to make it loop using the controls in the template. However, there are ways to make animations loop in After Effects. I explain one way in this video: th-cam.com/video/uI5mbXnuzq4/w-d-xo.html. There are other ways you could do it to a falling leaves comp - probably the easiest would be to make it so that the first frame and last frame don't have any leaves falling, then you'll be able to loop it seamlessly.

    A little unrelated man but I just finished a project with the 3d story book template that is 5 mins long.
    The template is really cool!
    Now that I start rendering it is taking 30 hours to render from after effects and media encoder has an approximate of 68 hours.
    Do you have any tip to speed up the rendering time?

      Hi Ariel. Here's a list of things you can do to speed up the storybook... creationeffects.com/custom-3d-book-tips.html

    Hi, not sure if you will see this in time for when I need the info but I was just wondering if I could put in a graphic of a sheet of paper and use the same effects on it? I paid the $25 dollars for the pack on your website as I know it will be useful to me anyway. I am new to AE so it is all a bit overwhelming. I am a keen learner though :-)

      Hi Heather. Yes, you can replace the leaf images with images of anything. Just drag your image into one of those "Put Leaf Here" comps, and scale your image layer so it fits in the comp.

      @@creationeffects thanks a million. I managed to do it but I think it's time to get a better spec machine 😆

    How can I export this with a clear background so I can put it in another video?

    • @creationeffects
      @creationeffects  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I recommend just Googling "exporting with transparent background in After Effects" so you can see the settings they use.

    is there any tutorial about 0:39?
    the transition effect when change video

    • @creationeffects
      @creationeffects  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Idra. No tutorial, but the comp for the transition effect is included in the template, and it's easy to customize it with different leaves, or change the direction.

    What is the best way to change the timing/duration?

    • @creationeffects
      @creationeffects  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're referring to the duration of the comp, open the Composition Settings panel (go to "Composition" menu at the top, then "Composition Settings"). To extend or shorten the render area, drag the left or right side of the bar right above the timeline.

    • @pinknoisetv
      @pinknoisetv ปีที่แล้ว

      @@creationeffects When I am in the follow-the-leader comps, I am having a hard time adjusting the timing of the leaves falling. No matter what I do, it only really looks right at the current duration set around 10-15 seconds. I know how to adjust the duration in general (comp settings, etc.), but I'm having a hard time making it repeat over a longer timeline.

    • @pinknoisetv
      @pinknoisetv ปีที่แล้ว

      @@creationeffects However the particle playground comps translate well when I adjust the duration. If that makes sense...But I would love to use the leaves or blossoms falling toward the screen but make them float slower and for a longer time instead of one burst.

    • @creationeffects
      @creationeffects  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pinknoisetv To make the leaves fall for a longer period, you can add more leaves by duplicating the blue layers. You can add as many as you want, but it will get slower the more you add. You can also extend the duration of the animation (without adding leaves) by adjusting the "Position Delay in Followers" control on the Control Layer. Or, if you just want to loop the default animation, you can drag that comp into a new comp, duplicate the layer as many times as you want, and arrange them to play in sequence. Hope that helps.

    • @pinknoisetv
      @pinknoisetv ปีที่แล้ว

      @@creationeffects Oh, ok. I tried starting the position further back to stagger them but it didn't work. I will give what you said a shot and see if that helps! Thank you for the quick responses. Really appreciate it.

    How did you do the leaves transition at 0:58

    • @creationeffects

      Hi Victor. It's already done for you. You should see a folder named "Leaves Falling Transition Effect" in the "Leaf Animation Presets" folder.
