That’s extremely interesting. Was there a specific part that influenced you?
I ask because there was a Tan book about Catholic exorcism that influenced my decision. Right after the thought ‘this is real!’ hit me, I thought that if this is real, perhaps the things they’re saying are real, too.
It helped that I was in a haunted house seeing and experiencing things I hadn’t believed existed. I had seen a full body apparition of a ghost and seen more than one demon, and was terrified... which is why I was reading the book in the first place.

@@dasan9178 Dealing with demonic things is a huge priority for me. I noticed this seemed like a scientific and methodical approach to expelling demons from your life. My hope is to stay in a state of grace, but I'm fairly terrible at that. I just don't feel inspired often enough to keep myself going every single week. Please pray for me. Thank you.

@@effiewilson8164 I can’t seem to stay in a state of Grace lately for even a day. No idea how our Blessed Mother managed it for a lifetime!
I noticed early on that science fails when you enter the realm of the supernatural. It’s what drew me to the Church. No one else can adequately explain the supernatural or how to protect yourself from demonic forces.
With the world falling apart, it’s clear we can’t succeed without God’s help. At least half the battle is just understanding this one thing. The rest is surrendering our will to God, and accepting his control over our destinies.
So, I’ll pray for you. Please remember me as well. God knows I need it.

      Father John Hollowell
Do you agree with the vatican 2 church that we don't have to convert non catholics to the Catholic Church?

    • @FatherJohnHollowell
      @FatherJohnHollowell  10 ปีที่แล้ว

where did Vatican II say that?

    • @davidemtl
      @davidemtl 10 ปีที่แล้ว

Father John Hollowell Vatican II document, Lumen Gentium # 15: “For several reasons the Church
recognizes that it is joined to those who, though baptized and so honoured
with the Christian name, do not profess the faith in its entirety or do not
preserve communion under the successor of St. Peter.”56
Vatican II says that the Church is united with those who don’t accept the Faith and
the Papacy. This is totally heretical. It’s the opposite of the teaching of the Church. As
we see below, it’s a dogma that those who reject the Papacy, or any portion of the
Faith, are not joined to the Catholic Church.
Pope Pius IX, Amantissimus (# 3), April 8, 1862: “ There are other, almost
countless, proofs drawn from the most trustworthy witnesses which clearly and
openly testify with great faith, exactitude, respect and obedience that all who
want to belong to the true and only Church of Christ must honor and
obey this Apostolic See and the Roman Pontiff.”57
Pope Pius VI, Charitas (# 32), April 13, 1791: “ Finally, in one word, stay close
to Us. For no one can be in the Church of Christ without being in unity
with its visible head and founded on the See of Peter.”58
I have asked many novus order priests if they should ctry and convert eastern orthodox to catholicism and they said no.
      Do you believe in ecumenism?
how about this stament do you agree with it?
Vatican II document, Lumen Gentium # 16: “ But the plan of salvation also
embraces those who acknowledge the Creator, and among these the
MOSLEMS are first; they profess to hold the faith of Abraham AND ALONG
WITH US THEY WORSHIP THE ONE MERCIFUL GOD WHO WILL JUDGE
      HUMANITY ON THE LAST DAY.”49

    • @FatherJohnHollowell
      @FatherJohnHollowell  10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Vatican II notes the ways that people can have some attachment to the Church.
There is no salvation outside the Church, and so only through the Church does Salvation come. The elements of Salvation come to us through the Sacraments, but if someone believes and receives some of the sacraments, can they possibly attain salvation?
When you ask if I believe in ecumenism, I would say it depends on what you mean by ecumenism. If you mean "do you talk to other people who don't believe in the Church" I would say I do that based on the command of Christ to bring the Good News to all people.
If you mean by ecumenism a sort of indifference and a relativistic approach such that I say "I don't care what Faith you are, there is no reason for me to try to bring you along to a place where you join the one holy Catholic apostolic Church that Christ has set up and sustained, I would say of course not. All of our relationships should be geared toward bringing people into Communion with the Roman Catholic Church.

Always good to listen to and ponder.
There remains on this one though a few extras not mentioned. In the History of the Church, the receipt regular and even frequently by the laity is a comparatively recent phenomenon. Certainly in the Medieval Church even upto the 19th century regular communion was not considered either a priority or desirable. It is properly only as we turn into the 20th century and from Leo and Pius that these gates were opened. It is the start of the century that regular and even weekly receipt of Communion was advanced by the Hierarchy. It is not until the Second Vatican Council that daily receipt is tolerated and pushed for.
The receipt of the Blessed Sacrament is today more than desirable, it remains a grace: but it is not properly correct to advance it as always being the case in History.
Whilst the Church advances at least a yearly receipt of Confession, this is only a requirement in the case of Mortal sin. It does not advance the case that Confession MUST be actioned if only venial sin remains. Of course the reason for Confession is not just to get some spiritual inoculation against sin. The sacrament is for our good and thereby its receipt is to be desired. It remains a point that every communicate before receiving the Blessed Sacrament should make an act of contrition. The Church in its prayers asks for Forgiveness before distribution but properly every person should confirm a private contrition before approaching the altar.
The fact that some people may receive Holy Communion as if they were receiving a pound of sausages at the super market is a disgrace! As St John Vianney noted IF YOU KNEW WHOM WAS ON THE ALTAR WHEN YOU COME TO CHURCH YOU WOULD CRAWL . . .
All Catholics or anybody else should be in respect of the place and stop to recall what they are doing in any Church . .as they should in any religious building. . .belief not withstanding, respect should always be shown and for Catholics at mass this is a grace that should not be treated lightly.
Lastly the case of Mortal sin is an on going debate? There are many things in the past which were denounced as Mortal sin and breaking Gods friendship by will. As the Century moved forward and with great wars etc and social movements occuring the Church was forced to confront these beliefs as incomplete. For example whilst it does not deny the possibility of grave sin it has tampered these condemnations with mercy that recognises influences such as social, environmental and habitual may effect the rational of traditional mortal sin. It should not be a surprise that in a century of war that saw more dead than all previous centuries combined, where absolute truths were swallowed in killing fields of mechanical death and where social consciences were directed to secular economies, that the Church was forced to update its vision of Christian thinking. In effect the God of the Catholic Church is becoming more gentle and merciful than in past reasonings. We shall not recon on crime and punishment inducing bewilderment and poverty and fear in religion. No that is not acceptable any longer, no more than the acceptance if not full agreement with slavery. Historically the Church has much to ponder and do penance for, because its role has not always been worthy of the Gospels.
Nonetheless, the Church remains and continues to grow towards the Light of Truth. This means of course that canon law sometimes reflects an attitude that holds little weight if we are to stress mercy and encourage Hope. Hence the CCC is updated to weigh more towards Gods paternal care and his involvement in human suffering.

    Hi all,
In 1946 Pope Pius XII said these prophetic words:
*"The sin of the century is the loss of the sense of sin."*
Did he have a glimpse into the future? Did he see a vision of the Internet and all that goes on via social media?
Brothers and Sisters: We live in this fallen world. What does Jesus say about this?
John 17 …15 I am not asking that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth.…
If we continue to do those things that we know by nature to be sinful, to be evil, we will become consumed by it.
Every temptation that you successfully fought against is a glory to God. Be glorified in Him.
If you do not Turn Away and go to Confession, you will end up needing an exorcism.
Break those chains and focus on Christ. Its the only way.
    Blessings,
    R. Zell

In Britain we are told that we need to go Confession as-soon-as-possible if we have committed mortal sin. Although equally to commit mortal sin is not as clear cut as it was once thought as the CCC confirms. On the other hand when we do go to communion we should make a personal Act of Contrition - as well as the one the Liturgy asks of us in the Mass and a sign of reconciliation. The Church asks of us that we should hopefully get to Confession a few times a year but in the case of venial sins as may be committed by many practising Catholics it does not make a definitive declaration or binding condition. Of course it is best that we try to get to Confession but the Church in its wisdom has also allowed for general reconciliation services, especially near Easter. It is important that all people make use of the Sacraments of course and the Church in its kindly compassionate understanding and wisdom of its age today confers the Sacrament of Reconciliation as one of that . . to be reconciled rather than legalistic dogma which can scare away the timid souls that it is designed to welcome. Some thought? Discuss.

Father, this was a great homily! Thank you for your faithful service to the church. But I think your use of the language "out of bounds" could have been expanded upon. Because "souls perish for lack of knowledge". It think one needs to rather clearly tell people (And it MUST be in a kind, gentle and loving way) that if they die in a state of mortal sin they will be condemned to Hell. Just like St. John Paul II's Catechism clearly tell us. There needs to be a sense of urgency. The Saints did this and it worked!

It sounds strange to hear being in the state of grace or in the state of Mortal Sin as being "in bounds or "out of bounds." So are you afraid to tell it to your audience straight? You didn't mention that receiving Holy Communion in the state of Mortal Sin is a most grievous sacrilege. You didn't warn people that even one Mortal Sin will be enough to damn a person to Hell should they die without having repented of and confessed all Mortal Sins in the sacrament of Confession. Are people too delicate to hear that? Or too vengeful?

(1Peter) We can nevr wth effort make ourselves HOLY, only e PRESENCE OF GRACE N E INDWELLING HOLY SPIRIT CAN MAKE THT HAPPEN! Our efforts n performance r fleshly to God n abhorrent to Him. He HAS to trigger n start e work of sanctifi cstion unto Holiness tht is effective n long lasting!!! I partake of e Holy Communi on in church n @ home or @ work; breaking bread n drinking His blood (wine) any day n frequently whn sick, cos e healing IS IN e Eucharist WTH e Blood (LIFE of Jesus) No blood; No Life! I now confess my sins directly to Jesus (mercifully sparing e human priest frm e contamin ation of my sins via transfrance of spirit n cause e priest to manif est MY sins) as I can now feel Him (JESUS) cos He has made me come alive to Him n re-ntroduced me to His Father, Who is now truly my most beloved Abba, Father God; affable n warm:- indeed God is LOVE in Himself. So nice n approach able any time n in whatrvr state or condition I'm in!!! He keeps on loving me.!!! Such assuarnce n stabolity tht I am irreversibly accepted in e Beloved!!! See!! How I was robbed of ALL these TRUTHS if Jesus Himslf had not reached out to me n filled me wth His Holy Spirit Who led n taught me by revelation wht TRUTH really IS The bible became alive to me only after e Baptism of e Holy Spirit on e same day He set me FREE FROM E LAW OF SIN N DEATH (Hey! Whn Jesus forgves:- can feel lightness. But no diffrance whn e R/C ptiest pronnces his absolutions) n M now AWARE tht e Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus is fully operative in me! Rom8:1-5 No wonder Pope John recently said to e Catholics tht it is dangerous to hv a personal relationship, directly wth Christ:- I can understand why a pope of e Catholic church said that!!! Cos if all Catholics obtain, recve tht addictive taste of e reality n tangible Presence of Christ, e R/C Church will instantly be emptied n Popes will become obsolete n unnecessary; especially so when such a one (pope) does NOT even know e bible or e Writer of e bible n has NOT even known or tasted e enjoyment of personally interacting wth God as Abba wth great FREEDOM n JOY!!! Obviously they DON'T!!! Hence e dour homilies, penance, n repetitive formulated prayers nothing is fresh or spontaneously frm e heart ignited by e H.Spirit ( thr's not evn a proper sermon cos they really hv nothing to say; as they r not yet alive Spirit ually; empty xessels, empty talk!!) No matter e cover ups n deceptns, Jesus will still rescue HIS lost sheep steeped in idolatry n sorrow WTHIN a church setting!!! N give thm... "Beauty for ashes! The oil of joy for mourning; a garment of PRAISE for e spirit of heavi ness; tht we might be..... TREES OF RIGHTEOUS NESS, e planting of e Lord tht HE,..HE ALONE.... (NOT e church nor e Pope) MIGHT BE GLORIFIED! I'm now living under joyous, glorious, life- enlivening GRACE n constantly in touch (can feel) GOD, my warm, loving, ever approachable Abba, Daddy God, knowing now tht Jesus has not come to give us rules n more rules but He came to set us free n give us freshness n abundant life..... tht he/she whom e Son sets free, is free indeed! Freed by e Blood of e Lamb!!! Btw, tht prostitute in e X'tian bkshop accepted e Lord, we had lunch together after tht ordeal n glorious resurrectn of her soul n spirit n she attends our bible study group e nxt day onwards! O TASTE n SEE THT E LORD IS GOOD!!! LIKE HONEY IN E ROCK"!!!....man! AMEN!!!

"Confess yr Sins one to another...."(James 5:16). Do think about this, from The Holy Bible WORD of GOD🤔
