Really language is not a barrier. Because of original song was sung by SPB. He is a telungu native speaker. And most of tamil singers are malayalam origins. Also shreya ghosal is bengali speaker and she sung several songs in other languages. So raini argument is totally wrong.Anyway we should celebrate both talents.
These are up and coming Sri Lankan talent. You cannot compare them with professional singers from India. Once they get the right training and necessary exposure, they too will come up to that level. At this level, what Raini said was correct but that's only one small part of the judging criteria.

As coach Raini said Yugendran sang the song freely because of his mother tongue whareas sasindu sang the song quite beautifully even some of his variation also quite good compared to yugendran. Its actually dumals fault no point of blaming those teenagers any way hope for the best ❤

I didn’t watch it, but listen... honestly, I didn’t hear two voices, only heard one voice singing the song in two languages... it’s sad one had to go home
Yugendran is extremely talented, he is singing effortlessly and with so much clarity, he was the clear winner to go forward, but it was nice that Sasindu also gave a very good competition. Again its sad to see Sasindu dropping out too early but its the nature of the competition, seems most of the droppers will do comeback in season 2.
This is why early round matches should be selected wisely. Otherwise talented singers like Sasindu will get eliminated because of a minor flaw in just one song.
yugendran sang very well it's not about Tamil speaking or Hindi speaking...iam a Sinhalese ...but Raini has given a stupid explanation coz she is crazy..Hats of to Dumal for the correct decision...
Very well said Dhananjaya..... they should be judged on musical capabilities and not on what mother tongue they speak. Yugendran had pitch problems but his rendition was very neat and complete than Sasindhu.... you can improvise a song but shouldn't kill its essence. The best example is Erandhi who sang "Egoda ha yanno" she improvised it with out killing its original essence and was much better than Adhithya....
I wouldn't call her explanation stupid. It's very difficult to bring out the emotions of a song when you are singing in a foreign tongue. Sasindu did that well more than Yugendran. But his technical proficiency was lacking and he tried to do too much improvisations which did not work out for him.

I have listened to this song a million times. The most beautiful aspect is the aalap in this song. Thsts where yugendran scored more than sasindhu.... in other words both of them are good singers. Also yugendran has superb breath control. Hats off to Dumal... perfect judgement

Not agreed with the decision at all. As coach Raini said Yugendran sang the song freely because of his mother tongue whareas sasindu sang the song quite beautifully even some of his variation also quite good compared to yugendran. Its actually dumals fault no point of blaming those teenagers any way hope for the best ❤
Correct....dumal made a right decision...we cant choose both. Must choose one. If i asked to pick one. I would rather choose Yugendran over Sasindu. Both boys are talented...but Yugendran nailed it perfectly! its not about their language. Its called talent and practice. Dont forget! Both boys are SRI LANKANS!

Yugendran is extremely talented, he is singing effortlessly and with so much clarity, he was the clear winner to go forward, but it was nice that Sasindu also gave a very good competition. Again its sad to see Sasindu dropping out too early but its the nature of the competition, seems most of the droppers will do comeback in season 2.
This is why early round matches should be selected wisely. Otherwise talented singers like Sasindu will get eliminated because of a minor flaw in just one song.

Very well said Dhananjaya..... they should be judged on musical capabilities and not on what mother tongue they speak. Yugendran had pitch problems but his rendition was very neat and complete than Sasindhu.... you can improvise a song but shouldn't kill its essence. The best example is Erandhi who sang "Egoda ha yanno" she improvised it with out killing its original essence and was much better than Adhithya....
I wouldn't call her explanation stupid. It's very difficult to bring out the emotions of a song when you are singing in a foreign tongue. Sasindu did that well more than Yugendran. But his technical proficiency was lacking and he tried to do too much improvisations which did not work out for him.
@@mangopickle2259 totally agree with you.... he did try to improvise it from the beginning and it took hom away from the main flow of the song. Yugendran's aalap was really good. I have listened to this song a million times. The most beautiful aspect is the aalap in this song. Thsts where yugendran scored more than sasindhu.... in other words both of them are good singers. Also yugendran has superb breath control. Hats off to Dumal... perfect judgement
