I always appreciate uncle Luke’s perspective, and honesty. Not many people will tell you that they’re keeping a card and then follow that up with explaining why it probably doesn’t make sense for the rest of us.
Always like the keep or cancel series. I hope everyone is always evaluating their spending and their cards. Thanks for the video Luke!!! My fav Hyatt stay was Zilara in Montego Bay Jamaica.
My favorite stay with "Hyatt" was actually an SLH property and Hyatt just lost that partnership... my second favorite stay was Park Hyatt New York we got a pretty nice Suite for only $100 upgrade. Well worth it for the look on my wife's face. But the Ambassador Zurich was my favorite. Great breakfast, the MOST comfortable bed ever. Champagne at welcome. Great service. It was a top notch experience.
I love studying credit cards. My take on Hyatt card: Unless you work for like McKinsey or something AND want the elite status, which means you get to travel all the time, then this card is the best because Hyatt is definitely the best (versus Marriott and Hilton). However, if you travel only few times a year, then Marriott Boundless/Ritz Carlton or Hilton Aspire might make more sense and yes Ritz and Apsire have a higher annual fee but also wayyyy higher elite status than Hyatt, and they also rack up points faster (we can talk about points value all you want but these cards actually have better multiplier that nets out) and offer better free nights than Hyatt personal/business card. I do find the current Hyatt personal card SUB to be pretty average, like you have to spend $15,000 to actually get the full 65,000 points, that is a big no no for me.
Before I even knew about credit cards or the World of Hyatt program, the best property I’ve stayed at was probably the Hyatt Regency in San Antonio. Loved the lobby and it has direct access to the riverwalk.
Super helpful as always Luke! I was planning to get this card next and cancel after a year, but your very last point is making me reconsider the latter.
I stay at Hyatt a lot. Sometimes you just need a nice, clean, quiet place to stay and Hyatt will hook you up for 5,000 points. I've also stayed at the Andaz in Maui which is a great property that I would recommend if headed that way. That being said, I never saw the appeal of the Hyatt business card. I have the personal version as a keeper card for the FNC. I appreciate your honest review of the card. Good stuff
I understand the allure of some of the easiest cpp value in the game. But people give hyatt the biggest free pass when it comes to having THE worst cards lol. The hyatt hype machine has somehow concinced people PAYING to stay at some hotel you dont want to stay at is value. Even ihg and mariott let you top certs. Great vid luke, and yes I too love the Chase Hyatt Ink cards. Excited for ur aa video.
This card, I could only think about getting it for the SUB but this would be a surefire cancel for me after 1 year, which in that case, I'm not the one to apply for a card only to cancel it after a year. The personal WOH credit card is of course the far better deal long term with the free annual night which depending on where you stay and when you book, a category 4 hotel can be worth well over $300.00 a night. It's an example of a card that you wouldn't mind being a sock drawer card with an annual fee and know that you're always going to get value out of it with no effort. Where as with the WOH business as you laid out, there's a quite amount of substantial work involved to justify the annual fee and if you're already doing enough work with other cards, it can get pretty exhausting lol. Great content as always! Sidenote: I also funded a U.S. Bank Business checking account in order to hit the SUB for the 90,000 Chase Ink Unlimited.
Love the Hyatt Regency architecture and landscaping, as well as customer service. The rooms are ok. Being loyal to Hilton and IHG, phasing out of Wyndham, there's just no space. It is the next hotel in line should we ever want to move on from one of the other two, or get into the Chase ecosystem.
The card is epic. If you get Globalist. It’s easily overpowered. The room upgrades and 4:00 pm checkout is incredible. I also think Hyatt point value is really solid.
My Hyatt set up is as follows: Hyatt Personal CSP CFU CFF BILIT Chase will not let me get any Inks at the moment. Im not interested in the Hyatt Business card at the moment.
Thanks for the great video! I wanted to clarify one of your tips. I am currently working on a sign on bonus for the chase ink unlimited and need about $ 2,500 to get the bonus , and I don’t think I will make it on my normal spend. So do you think I can use your tip of opening a business account with another bank , and charge it to my ink unlimited? Not sure if I understood that correctly?
Just transferred Chase to book 4 days for Spring Training in Tampa in a couple of weeks. 4 cents per point on the Grand Hyatt hotel stay was pretty good I thought. First Spring Training and getting to see the Yankees and Blue Jays...priceless! 3 Hyatt nights for June California trip too. Likely will get some Hyatt card in 2025 when I am out of 5/24

I'm shocked but it makes sense. If you ever do want to try for Globalist it can also help to spend $30-40k on the card... as a Discoverist I have been told I've been upgraded to a "preferred room" higher floor? Idk. Like you said not much.
@@LukesPointsandMilesif you do need 5 nights towards the end of the year then the $10k on the card could make sense to get to Globalist. I wouldn’t pass it up when you’re that close and you plan on staying at hyatts going forward.
Uncle Luke! could you elaborate on using the Chase card to fund a checking account? Perhaps make a video about it? Wouldn't it be considered a cash advance, and therefore not qualify as a purchase that counts towards a SUB spend requirement?
Some banks allow credit card funding. Us bank is one. I have used Chase credit cards to fund us bank checking account. In this example, it’s not a cash advance and it counted towards spend.
