He went from nothing to a billionaire using his musical talent to create a solid foundation. That single fact alone makes him anything but overrated. He really is one of the greatest to ever step into the rap industry. I mean, Jay-Z is a great rapper, but let's look at it for what it is -- Jay-Z says rhymes over electronically made beats and samples, mostly rapping about the usual rap stuff.
      Lincoln Park is a group of guys who come together with musical instruments and actually produce music with lyrics that are incredibly meaningful to many people.
      Lincoln Park are huge, too.

      @@franka2743 this is literally a 14 year olds perspective of music, its immature and narrow minded, and frankly stupid. Jay-Z as most artists do, has a lot of variance in his music and a lot of talent in making said music. I don't even particularly like his music, but your breakdown of what Jay does shows you have no understanding of how music is made, what skills it takes to make it, and the dynamic of this room. Jay-Z at this point was already a bona-fide legend, and Linkin park respected him for his place in music and its history. Linkin Park became legends in and of themselves, but there's room for more than 1 legend.

    Seriously I have liked some of the stuff Jay Z has done but then this came out and it hit me like a ton of bricks! He doesn't act like a prima donna or anything, just acts like a true artist . There didn't seem to be any tension and the colab is perfect! I saw the tribute to Chester he did, It was one of the songs from Collision Course and you could see the deep pain he was in.

    • @bethm5791
      @bethm5791 3 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      “I might have to bring out the young Jay Z”
      I busted out laughing. Even how he didn’t want to brag when Mike asked how much time he has and he’s like ... uhh i do vocals kind of fast
      I truly thought Jay was crying at the end of the tribute. The respect he has/had for Chester was never more obvious than during that song.
