I hope that you didn't buy the Megido publication. I ordered mine from Flute World many years ago and the person that I spoke to recommended it. It's awful with lots of wrong notes and articulations.

長笛 （FLUTE ）:世界上最早產生的木管樂器之一,起源可以追溯到深遠的古代，它的音色甜美、細膩，中低音區朦朧純厚；中音區清澈圓潤；高音區光輝明亮，穿透力強；超高音區尖銳刺激，穿透力極強。長笛音色由於缺乏泛音，顯得不如其他木管樂器丰滿，因此不適合模仿人聲。但正由於這樣的特點，常常用來表現自然界，如田野、森林、湖畔、春天、小鳥及回聲等。演奏技法方便、靈活, 屬於管樂中的高音樂器，在管樂器中占有極重要的地位。
在管弦樂中經常演奏音樂主題、美妙的經過句及模仿一些輕巧、柔美、歡快的聲音（如風聲、鳥鳴、波浪等）。與其它的管樂器相比較長笛更擅長於演奏各種吐音,它的發音原理是利用氣息撞擊長笛吹口的邊稜產生振動而發音,再由按笛身的按鍵控制管體內音波長短來決定音高的變化。因此長笛是管樂器中發音最靈敏、吹奏吐音最輕快、簡單的樂器之一。
正如上面那句話所說，由於長笛優美動聽的樂聲，它出現在神話傳說中，絕不是偶然。公元前5～前4世紀，是民主政治獲得鞏固和發展的時期，也是希臘古典文化高度繁榮的時期，音樂美學和音樂理論獲得了很大發展。首先就是希臘悲劇。它由祭祀酒神儀式中的酒神頌歌演變而來，通常取材於神話傳說和荷馬史詩，以人和無法抗拒的「命運」之間的沖突，曲折地反映了當時的社會矛盾。
悲劇（tragedy）一詞希臘文是「羊」（tragos）與「歌」（ode）的結合。可能和悲劇的演出常常附加一出《羊人劇》（satyras）有關。古希臘神話中上身為人、下身為羊的的山林和畜牧神潘（pan）--希臘最古老的神之一，使用的樂器就是長笛。其中歌隊裝扮成希臘神話里的「羊人」潘，表演輕松的短劇，以調劑劇場氣氛。悲劇的形成和它的演出都和音樂有密切的關系。在許多傳奇的神話中（例如關於奧爾甫斯、阿波羅的故事），人們就在思索音樂的神奇力量。而長笛，就正是這半人半羊的「羊人」的標志性樂器。

十九世紀意大利作曲家梅爾卡丹特（Saverio Mercadante, 1795-1870）的音樂資料大約只有20張左右的唱片傳世。三首長笛協奏曲是他早期的作品，抒情、具有親和力的旋律和演奏者精湛技巧展示上（几乎所有的長笛大師都必錄），而且每部作品都有一個富於光彩的末樂章。其中尤以這首《E小調長笛協奏曲》的第三樂章《俄羅斯回旋曲》最為著名：活潑美妙的旋律，揚揚自得的節奏，精巧無比的吹奏技巧運用，使其成為長笛學習者必修的曲目。
