Wow! This is one way in which the natural hair community is light years ahead of mainstream beauty. Thanks to all the naturalistas, I've been free from most of these chemicals for several years without even fully knowing about all the harmful impacts.

You could make your own skin care, I like using rice water, strawberries, parsley, flaxseed, honey, and various oils like avocado oil and coconut oil. Use cream too if you have dry skin, makes your skin smoother than a baby’s butt, I’m not even kidding! But if you don’t have time for that kind of thing, I also use clean and clear which didn’t have any of the ingredients he said to avoid Edit: by cream I mean milk or heavy whipping cream. After all Cleopatra took milk baths everyday, moreover the geisha bathed in rice water, both the Victorians and Marylin Monroe used strawberries, and the Victorians also used parsley.
@SnickeringSnake I love clean and clear too! But then I found that their were parabens in my favourite moisturiser :(. I already just bought like 3 more 😬😂
I’m so thankful you made this video. I try really hard to take care of my skin, but all of these dangerous substances scare me away. This guidance helps a ton.
I don’t wear any makeup and my skin looks so much better. My skin is smoother without any little bumps and no more weird discolorations. It does take a while for your skin to adjust to not having any make up at all including foundation or blush or anything but once all the toxins are out of your skin your skin will breathe and looks so much younger. I have not been wearing make up since 1986 and I’m now 60 years old and people think I’m at least 15 years younger. However I do take the time to use good skin care products. I don’t overdo it but what I use helps keep my skin moisturizedAnd I stay out of the sun whenever I can because I overdid it for many years.
Phenoxyethanol also. All these beauty companies claim to make products without parabens, but they replaced paraben with phenoxyethanol, which is just as bad.
I could listen him all day. I never get bored ,I love the way he explaining his Sweet smile . I really love this Dr Youn. Teach us what to use and what not to use.

I am currently using the Vit C serum and the eye retinol lotion. I Have being using it for around 3 months. My face looks much more healthy and less pigmented. This is a satisfied customer. I do recommend the products. I bit expensive, the packaging is not that luxurious but what is contained inside is really worthy. I have oily skin, acne scars, some dark stains, big pores. With Dr. Youn treatment the stains are fading, pores size decrease, less oily 👍💕💗👸👸👸
Hi! I don’t mind the price at all, because I know what I’m getting is some damn good product. Obviously not everyone can afford it, but his products take a lot of effort to make. I’m 17 and I plan to look 17 for as long as humanly possible. My mom used rubbing alcohol on her face, and now her moisture barrier is wrecked, she has a lot of hyperpigmentation, and it’s always either drier than the desert or super greasy. I finally got her to use some of my skincare products and while there is too much damage to really be repaired, there has been a noticeable difference. Good quality products will always come with a higher price tag.
Mahalo Dr Youn for your TruthBombs. You have a great Frequency of truth when talking making it easy to listen. You’re Kindness & Empathy towards people is Genuine which is very much Appreciated. It's only irritating for some people and it's also for different doses. If I use it, I only get irritated when it is in a too high dosage (which means, if it doesn't have any other preservatives). Oils don't need preservatives as microbiological growth does not occur in water-free environments.
When its at less that 1% im not sure its gonna do anything harmful, these studies dont take concentrations into consideration. We need preservatives to keep our products from bacterial growth which can be much more dangerous that what preservatives MAY cause at low concentrations:)
Sounds like the type of person I’d invite over for dinner with my husband and daughter and just have great, in depth conversations. And thank you so much for this video! I don’t buy skin products anymore because of these issues.
At this time your skin should be dry already.you need cream,an emulsion, for taking care of your skin.you can seal it with that oil,but you need to put an emulsion first.
I just so enjoy this doctor's videos, I have been watching his videos for couple hours already. How many videos out there..?? It's like 24 hours Dr. Youn marathon.
I would also add fragrance. I avoid it at all cost. Only use products that are fragrance free or scented with 100% pure essential oils. Love the advice!
I find that even mineral oils aren't completely safe for my skin. I had a sunscreen with lavender oil in it and my hyperpigmentation got worse the more I used it... :(
I have *very* reactive asthma and just about anything with a lot of scent triggers it. I have to use my setting powder outside. it’s Coty. I love it, but once I use all that I have now I’m never buying it again. It’s incredible and all, but it’s really hard on my lungs if I don’t put it on near a fan or outside.

Nice👍, as a chemist all your insights are true☺️.Thanks for this vlog, your content is a big help to raise awareness to people specifically your viewers, to have a deep understanding to each ingredients, that a skin care product may contain and it’s harmful effect to our body.

So I just checked everything I use and and ALL of them have one or more of these. Yikes! 😭 But I'm going to share your video because I'm so grateful that you are sharing this info for free! ❤️❤️❤️
Amazing that you make such a videos to teach all people about how to care about them and at the same time im really dissapointed that a huge of companies use harmful ingredients because of business
Hi Dr Anthony - just wanted to comment and say how much I’m loving your videos! Really helping me to do some learning on my skincare during lockdown! Also your ready videos are fab! All the best!
I need to write this down to remember. Very useful, it's great you went into more detail rather than the usual stuff everyone says like fragrance and mineral oils
This all sounds fine, and dandy, but one visit to beautycouter shows a $30 cleanser, and $80 serum. How can people possibly pay that realistically who are on a budget, or don't have the financial means to pay so much for skincare? I would love to know about more affordable clean beauty brands that are more on the drugstore-price level. That would probably be a popular video for many obvious reasons. During this quarantine, everyone is trying their best to invest and spend their money wisely due to financial uncertainty.
eagletmars you should watch dr dray’s channel! she exposes how you do NOT need to spend a lot of money on skincare and has tons of videos about CeraVe, which is the drugstore brand that she uses herself! :)
I've been using Eminence Organic Skin Care products for several years and very impressed with quality. FYI: Be sure to check the actual package label because ingredients listed on websites are not comprehensive.
This might have been a late comment because I just watched this video. But these compounds are *usually* harmful at high concentrations. Do you have the studies to prove that these raw materials are also toxic at low concentrations? I would always use the 1% phenoxyethanol to see if the ingredients formulated are at a reasonably dilute concentrations that wouldn’t harm my body.
I would love to see hyram review your brand. And for you to review his advice! It’s so tough now to be an informed consumer. Marketing makes it so tough no a days. Looking for less expensive products that are safe and beneficial.
They are safe, it's just that this video promotes some serious misinformations. It is quite disappointing to see that it is coming from Dr. Youn. I suggest you to take a look at people like Dr. Davin Lim, Dr. Dray, Dr. Shereene Idriss, Michelle from Lab Muffin Beauty Science and Caroline Hirons. They know their onions!
I am currently using the Vit C serum and the eye retinol lotion. I Have being using it for around 3 months. My face looks much more healthy and less pigmented. This is a satisfied customer. Downloaded the think dirty app! Amazing! Surprised at what’s contained in my current beauty products. Wont throw away but once finished definitely not re- purchasing. Thanks Dr Yoon!
@Scott Harry parabens are not harmful, there are used to preserve your skincare, and keep it from forming bacteria. It really grinds my gears that they are doing this to impressionable people who actually believe that these ingredients are harmful. Its the polar opposite.
Even if you wanna follow it is difficult . Even if can also it going to be costly . I managed to did it but price wise Fucking very Expensive . Even if in a drug store the texture is so sticky . If they inly add HA acid in it . LOL
I use the ordinary’s 7% glycolic acid toner a few times a week at the most and it keeps my skin exfoliated really well. I’m glad that brand is on your good list because that bottle is huge and would hate to waste it!
I make my own Vit C serum, Face Cream, and Face cleanser. I store mine in the Frig and make new supply every 7 days to prevent those nasty gram positive/negative bacteria and mold. I use distilled H2O . I would list the different oils here but I use a varied amount of many. The only product I buy is Retin A .05% in my skin care routine. My Vit C serum I use l-ascorbic acid and Hyaluronic acid that I make with Rose Hydrosol. I do have a preservative called Neodefend, but I have not done the testing yet for its ability to kill bacteria and mold. Nor have I researched it yet on chemical composition; hence, I have not used it. The best skincare advice, I think, is to drink lots of water, to stay out of the sun, and to not smoke or drink alcohol excessive. (I am not an MD, but I majored in Chemistry while getting my nursing degree at UCLA. I’m autistic as well, which means I am super obsessive with certain things, one of which is my skincare routine). Sorry this is so long.
Should avoid:
1. Parabens (isopropyl-, butyl-, isobutyl-)
2. Ethanolamine (DEA, TEA, MEA)
3. Phthalayes (DBP, DEHP, DEP)
4. Polyethylene Glycol (PEG compounds)
5. Formaldehyde Releasers (Quaternium, diazolidinyl urea, DMD hydantoin)
For me to easy take note! Thanks for the tips Doctor Anthony!
Thank you for taking this note ❤

That means we should trust European brands more.
Like Germany they are👍perfectly super with skin care products number one in the whole world.
I tend to not buy from outside Europe because of this policy. I wanted a certain lipstick from Clinique but it's not sold in Europe, only in US... then I figured maybe there's a reason for it so I gave up.

It's not that much about the brands, but more likely about the chemical control that we process.

Everything have parabens . Cannot do anything except cut the ingridient or ready to pay more .
parabens are safe. 🤦♂️ it's even in fruit like strawberries and grapes. how is this a doctor...
@@lucien927 agree... paraben is the devil because it mimics hormones... but soy is ok I guess ?!
I just bought your 2 min 5 yrs younger skin care line!! I cannot wait to see how it works for me.
I noticed that my foundation dries my skin... thank you dr 🥰
Have been watching your videos for a while! I am absolutely loving your tutorials, the way you put the whole details, make every single word clear to us I definitely think it's the best channel to get great advises for my skin care! Please make a video in details as well about body skin care 😊
We admire u a lot dr youn🌹.. More power 💞God bless you ✝️❤️
So I just checked everything I use and and ALL of them have one or more of these. Yikes! 😭 But I'm going to share your video because I'm so grateful that you are sharing this info for free! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for the information I wrote it down, Will B more careful picking my Skin Care line!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!!
Amazing that you make such a videos to teach all people about how to care about them and at the same time im really dissapointed that a huge of companies use harmful ingredients because of business
Congratulations, Dr. Anthony Youn!
Thank you!! 🙏👏👏👏
I love this doctor--believe him because he isn't just pushing his own product line
@@luchia148 will do :] thanks for the recommendation!
I am obsessed with his videos.
Oh my estrogen makes my eyes supper dry I had to stop using it I will watch for these ingredients!
I would love to see hyram review your brand. And for you to review his advice! It’s so tough now to be an informed consumer. Marketing makes it so tough no a days. Looking for less expensive products that are safe and beneficial.
Hello 👋 Alyssa
How are you doing?
Wow, I am really surprised at some of the ingredients in my skin care products. Time to swap. 😬
I love this guy . He is intelligent, funny and I wish I could afford all His products. And what I like most is he does not push surgery
2:18 wait I thought parabens were okay and the study was faulty?
I thought so too
They are safe, it's just that this video promotes some serious misinformations.
I'm from Philippines, I love listening and watching your videos

TO BUY
1. YOUN BEAUTY!!
What do you think of Korean Cosmetics?
Ekaterina Parkhomenko they’re amazing
This is also what i wanna hear from him like how he thinks of korean skin care products
The worst
Yes, please give your opinion on Korean skincare and what's the best in it?
Im also using korean skin care products and it changed my life
Downloaded the think dirty app! Amazing! Surprised at what’s contained in my current beauty products. Wont throw away but once finished definitely not re- purchasing. Thanks Dr Yoon!
I think "clean beauty" is just a marketing term. Kind of like "organic" The FDA hasn't stepped in yet...
clean beauty in 2020 by dr gray .
Check the ingridient .
LOL
@@poshdelux either alvcohol or paraben .
I use the ordinary’s 7% glycolic acid toner a few times a week at the most and it keeps my skin exfoliated really well. I’m glad that brand is on your good list because that bottle is huge and would hate to waste it!
LOVE “the Ordinary”
They have peg too . how ?
I was gonna try the Ordinary but their ratings are kinda low for healthy skincare line
Lists his own skin care line last. Love this guy! 👍🏽
Doc, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us ❤️💕
He is so enlightening... I can trust him with my life ... He is that good ☺️
I have learned many usefull information about skin care,
Thank you so much dear doctor .
You are also a really good teacher. What cannot you do? Love your videos!
Alright, so I don't know 80% of the words in this video.
Check the ingredient list of the products they may have similar names 😁
