@@HobieWanKenobi The Dobyns Sierra Ultra Finesse casting rod is a excellent rod. I have a Conquest bfs with a avail 2.9mm spool rigged on mine at the moment. Its my "heavy bfs" rig. lol
I would like to see some comparison tests between this and the zephyr since these are the fist two BFS reels available in the US. The zephyr definitely punches above it's weight class and has a lighter spool. It will be interesting to see if the $100+ difference price is justified
Braking system has a lot to do with the casting beyond the spool weight. The FTB Shimano uses is quite impressive and is quite adaptive in many casting environments
@@HobieWanKenobi No doubt FTB is a cool system but in my opinion outright distance it not the biggest factor when it comes to the brakes on a BFS reel. Static brakes give more over run control and FTB style gives better distance. BFS is intended for short accurate casts in a stream or small river not chucking lures across the pond. People have done comparisons with the zephyr and the gh-100. The gh-100 shares the same dynamic breaking system design style as the curado. The general consensus I see is that the zephyr is better or very similar even with it's static brakes. With that said I hope we get some good reviews and comparisons of the zephyr, curado and gh-100. Hopefully the competition will push for better designs in the future.
My question is why a black background lol we can’t see the full on details as good as we could if it was a white background but anyways from what I’m seeing it looks nice
I’ve been looking use a bfs reel for drifting floats on small streams. My spinning reel twists up the long grass and opening and losing the bail takes too long when paying out line and mending. A UL bait caster should be the answer

@@vire559 Good observation. I think for the bass market it is marketed for, it will be fine. Remember, a lot of us BFS anglers are extreme and go stream trout fishing.

Don’t think so pal. Will be available in Europe also where bfs fishing is taking off massively for perch zander trout etc. If people in the us stopped being so worried about spool capacity and gave it a go I’m sure it would catch on there too.

It's about time BFS is coming to the US market. I love my JDM BFS reels, but it's nice to know I can buy one here in the states in the future.
