- Just for giggles, I decided run a 36th level Fighter (Avenger) through the Caves of Chaos. Let's see what happens.
Caves of Chaos map from Jon Pintar's Realistic Map collection. Link not currently available from DMs Guild, but here's a list of his work: www.dmsguild.c...
Let's roll a Fighter video: • Let’s roll…a Fighter! ...

I noticed the AC was wrong after putting the video together. For some reason the Dexterity adjustment wasn't being accounted for. This will be fixed in a future episode.
I’m not super familiar with becmi rules but is there a dex adj limit on certain armors like other editions? I know In later editions you won’t get a dex adj in the heaviest armor
@@ChuckDenomolos47 Most early editions have no cap, dexterity was pretty much maybe a maximum of 19 for only an elf, everyone else 18. So no crazy stats.
A one-man tank going through an entry-level dungeon. Not a good day for the monsters. I'm looking forward to seeing how hilariously quick this goes. Great idea!
Survival horror. Only, it's the monsters who are trying to survive.
Back in the day, my 36th level cleric was able to go back to the Isle of Dread and raise someone we lost there ages before. Happy days!
This is cool! I'm looking forward to more, Beserker! So far, you've got one of the best BECMI/OSR channels out on the tubes of you!! 👊🤓Thank you
Excited to see Fleetwood in action, and any time I see the Keep on the Borderlands it brings back good memories. Rock on Berserker!
Awesome concept! Between this, the efforts of the Wizard Deadloss, and my own BECMI campaign that just finished Keep on the Borderlands, my BECMI outlook is GOOD. Thanks for taking the time to keep us entertained!
I'm looking forward to this too! I can learn from a master.
Good to see that Fleetwood's backstory consists of "something, something, something" ! Very descriptive!
Very nice! Looking forward to more of these solo plays.
Thanks for the plug! This Looks like a exciting adventure!
@@steveyoungwork Thanks, Steve!
After all these decades I still have that entire module memorized. I can still picture all the maps.
Always grateful for another video of yours.
I remember when you were doing your 'Let's roll a...' series, you likened the elf on pg 49 of the basic player's book to Stevie Nicks. And here you're fighter is called Fleetwood. I smell a theme!
@@WizardDeadloss Well, players only love you when they’re playing… 🙂
This sounds like a ton of fun, really looking forward to these videos.
Perfect timing! I just started this module for my players!
Funny, i recently started a BECMI solo game that's a 9th level Paladin vs the Keep. Glad to see this!
This is awesome! I haven’t even watched the video yet and I can’t wait to watch this. Can’t wait to see how you approach this
So excited to listen to this….the solo title alone has me psyched!!!!
Fleetwood will wreck the caves of chaos!! This will be fun! 😊
Not for the monsters, though. But it's BECMI so they're just soulless props existing only to be slain anyway 😎
This is a great idea. I will be watching with great interest.
This is a great idea. Thanks!
Cool idea. Let’s see how he goes 😊
i'm ready for this this is a great idea
Looking forward to this series!
This looks like an interesting experiment! I'm curious to see how you will solo it
I'm playing B/X on roll20 currently, would love to play some BECMI if you ever need another player. I still have some of the books from my childhood
This fighter might have more hit points than everything in the 1st level dungeon combined.
Amazing ty!
The only chance the opponents have is if they have a hold person spell and Fleetwood rolls a one to save. Otherwise, he will go through the caves likely without taking any hits given his AC and Deflect.
Interesting! I wonder how it will unfold...
Yeeessss… kill all the things for giggles.
Level 36! We made it all the way through the Isle of Dread after Mistamere, we’re only level five. Name Level Forever!
This. Is. Awesome. 🤘🤘🤘
Also, "Seek And Destroy" by Metallica is now going through my head for some odd reason...
I'd forgotten how completely OP level 36 was....😂
Posting before I even watch this but sounds hilariously interesting. Those poor monsters 😂 unless... sleep spell would work on him, no? Can't remember if there are any spellcasters with that spell. Been a very long time since I played it.
@@johnmccabe2687 Sleep only works on characters up to 4th level. 🙂
30 foot vision. Dont monsters see farther in darkness like 60 feet? Or 90 feet? So ranged weapons and fleeing or obstacles to delay him.
Firetraps. Poisons. Negotiating to make survivors followers. Gossip aroud the caves of a terrifying beserker leads to tribes ganging up on him?
Rescue other npcs?
Raise the dead to fight for you?
Should be interesting to see.
A 36th level character vs the keep on the borderlands? WOW, this is going to get ugly. I see a lot of dead/retreating monsters.
Nice
an assured
⚔️ BLOODBATH!!! ⚔️
should be fun! 👍😄
(I'd love to see B2 in
Baldurs Gate style with
the proper BECMI rules,
that'd be AWESOME!!!)
now get in there & get
C H O P P I N G !!! 😁
Do Fleetwood VS the Isle Of Dread next!!! Or the Isle Of DEAD by the time he gets done with it...
Hi. Are you using the Cyclopedia as well or just the sets? Thanks. And will you be coming to the
@@thebattleofpelennorfieldsp6081 RC.
Always hates the rule for extra attacks only if you need a 2 to hit, my house rule is they can always make their extra attacks
Only some really bad dice rolls are going to see any damage getting through.
5% chance of missing/5% Chance of being hit .. 154 holos, ability to cure, turn undead, control undead …
“A god walks into to your cave; what do you do?”
😅
32 orks will get 3 hits every 2 rounds, and he will only kill 1 if they spread using normal melee and charge rules. He can get worn down fast. If the "dm" plays smart, and they alert nearby help, a definite kill situation can arise for that race who knows war.
36 level? Isnt that an overkill?
Roll a 1 and the Medusa still kills Fleetwood. :D
@@justinpfeil5018 It could all come down to that. ☺️
OI!
Absolutely no challenge, why?
If the DM is not playing weak on purpose, plenty of chances for him too die.
While I truly enjoy BECMI, playing 36th is similar to playing 20th in DnD.
I'll pass.
36th level is significantly more powerful than level 20 in later editions...9x 9th level spells for example. And double longsword grandmaster is almost as good as the wizard dropping a chain of timestop and meteor swarm/delayed blast fireball/fireball/etc. But he can teleport in and out too. Both of them (properly equipped) can reliably solo take out that 40 hit die dragon ruler in the rules cyclopedia in one round.
