Simply an absolutely gorgeous piece of audio gear.👍🏾😊
the best amps i’ve ever heard
nothing beats mcintosh😍a masterpiece🤑
McIntosh should bring Dual Mono Amplifier, something similar to MC 451, but with a higher wattage, something higher than 600 watts, rather than 300 watts. It doesn't serve the purpose if your speakers have higher wattage than 300 watts. Thanks
C'est du lourd McIntosh 😊
Throw "Enter Sandman" on and thank me in the morning.
JUST A THOUGHT! Why not Mcintosh makes its amps and preamps in retro looks with green VU meter lights like the C22. i.e MC1.25kw, C53...
Hi AJ, the meters have always been blue, different ones over the years have been different shades (the C22 was a little green-ish), and some old ones might have the Blue color fade to green, but we never made a green meter .
Me hace gracia la persona que pasa por delante de la pantalla
I'll take 10!

1200w amazing engineering feat !!! Is it sheer power or serious insecurity ? very very American. Meanwhile, the Japanese and Europeans smiks and says "all i need is a good 10w".
dynamic range of a CD is 10x, hi res files even more.
So, to listen at 200 watts average, you need 2,000 watts peak to not quash the dynamic range of a good recording. As many high end speakers are very inefficient, playing at 200 watts average is not uncommon.
@@chuckHinton Ofcourse from a technical angle anything can be justified. But more power = insane signal path & more complications. I thought 20dB headroom was enough, on a 90 db speakers, with a swing to wards 110db is LOUD!!!
Btw, who listens stuff at 200w ?
@@matthewgeorge2530 Many speakers are more like 83 dB and need more than 4x power to play at the same volume as a 90dB speaker, do you ever listen to your 90dB speakers at 50 watts? Same as an 84dB speaker at 200.
It's just silly marketing nonsense. Nobody needs that much output unless they are powering an entire stadium full of speakers as a load. In most domestic situations, that meter will never reach 120W (except on peaks), let alone 1.2 kW. It's not even a really serious engineering feat, the modulator decks on old broadcast senders (low level anode modulated) would easily make 50 kW + of audio in class B on a routine basis. Additionally, even with protection, there is going to be some serious fault current if this thing fails (depending upon the failure mode). I wouldn't want that it my house.
I think that you were absolutely spot on with "insecurity" with this one. Nelson Pass has always maintained that "the first watt is the most important". I tend to agree.
Best
I'll be all ears..

MC1.25KW $25,000/pair
🇹🇷
At 1,200 Watts that's over kill. Even a 100 Watts amplifier connected to a Videoke machine which is common here in the Philippines makes neighbors angry.
There's always the Sansui G33000 with a whopping 330 watts to make the angry deaf ;)
So the good thing about this amp is it can handle 12.
TOO SMALL
🤣😂
