    Just to let anyone know, if you are doing the new cabin crew apprenticeship scheme (starting March 2019) then I think BA pay for your accommodation 💓

    Thank you soo much for your advice this is a job that id love to have . This is the life style that I want . I’m currently in year 11, 16 years old . My GCSE’s got cancelled due to coronavirus. I have three questions .... would I be able to apply at the moment, because there is a coronavirus pandemic so are companies going on are they still recruiting people ? Secondly , what A -levels do you recommend me to do ( I don’t want to do health and social care because it is a betec at my school) and lastly I’m a Muslim black woman and I’ve been doing research on being a flight attendant and I haven’t seen any one that’s fits my category so could you tell me if you’ve seen anyone like me having this job etc? Thank you soo much if you reply this video really helped me out ❤️

      Im a muslim in year 12 right now and am currently doing 3 A levels but they have like no link to becoming a flight attendant. I want to become one now though and honestly...I just dont think I know anything about it and that kinda scares me but I hope I figure it out and get to where life takes me, Insh'allah.

      i am not a flight attendant as of present moment however, i too, am an aspiring flight attendant.. i turn 18 in november and am currently studying a levels. the a levels i am studying consist of psychology, sociology and religious studies. i read online that one must have 5 gcse qualifications 9-5 most of the time however, depending on the airline youre applying to work for, you could be expected to have 5 gcse qualification 9-3. again, that depends on the company. with regards to which a levels you should take, online, i read that a religious study qualification is necessary which could easily be graded to you at gcses.. im not too sure which a levels is best for you to take to help benefit you with the job you want. for now, focus mainly on getting your most expected grades at gcse which are qualifications in maths, english, and again, depending on the airline, if not all, religious studies.. it is definitely worth doing more research into the airlines you wish to work for most as it is beneficial to have more than one option. i hope you achieve all you dreamt of.

    • @Mark50x
      @Mark50x 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Olivia Johnson If travel picks up again then yeah I’m sure you’ll find another job given you’re lucky to have experience already. It will be harder for me with no experience haha. There are several airlines in Australia (if you don’t mind the move) you could try and I’m sure some airlines in Asia like white people joining (to add a bit of diversity). But hope it works out for you and fingers crossed for the both of us 🤞

  • @bradleysebastian9635
    @bradleysebastian9635 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Hi there Ellie, I am Bradley in Grade 9 and I live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I would really want to become a cabin crew for British Airways. I have always been a "Plane nerd" from a young age and had an assignment to do for school on that we would like to become once we had finished school so I went on to Google and search Britsh Airways Cabin Crew and it came up with a TH-cam video of your channel and go really inspire when I watch your video, but I just got some questions to ask you, and hope that you are able to answer them. Please answer them. 😭😇
    1. At what age have you applied for British Airways?
    2. How much did you get paid?
    3. Can you pick the places that you want to fly to?
    4. Is there a limit on picking on the places to fly to?
    5. How long was your training?
    6. Can you choose which class you want to work with?
    7. Can you choose on what aircraft you want to work on?
    8. Do they allow people from overseas to work for them?
    9. Does British Airways pay for the hotel you stay at when you have layover?
    10. Do they accommodate people an hotel room during training when you are coming from another country?
    11. How does the applying process work?
    12. How much flights do you have a month?
    13. Do they give you a separate phone for work?

    • @EllieBennettx
      @EllieBennettx  5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Bradley Vanrensburg wow that’s a fair few questions! Yes You can work for them! Loads of people do who don’t live in the UK! You have to be 18 at the time of applying and the training takes 5 weeks! Your basic salary is around £1400 and you get flight pay on top depending how much you fly that month. You can bid for trips so if you wanted to bid for joburg you can and we have 3-4 days there. There is no limit to the amount of places you can fly to as long as it’s one of mixed fleets routes. I can do another video answering all these questions if you like?

    • @bradleysebastian9635

    Hi Ellie! great video! I live in Birmingham and have applied for the Heathrow mixed fleet.
    1) i turn 18 the 24th of March next month and i've got an assessment day at the end of this month. Do you think will be okay? or is it possible to rearrange the assessment day for when i'm 18 if needed?
    2)do you find the commute from home okay? how long does it take you and how many times roughly a month do you commute as i know you can be away days at a time on trips?
    Thank you!!

    • @EllieBennettx
      @EllieBennettx  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hiyaa! I’ve actually left BA now! I’ve done a video about it on my channel! Yeah deffo change it as you have to be 18 at time of applying. As for the commute- that is one of the reasons I left as it is a hard one when you have available days and you are waiting around in car parks but there are loads of people that do it and love it! It took me 2 hours from Worcestershire but I left home 4 hours before a report as you can’t be late! And i did the journey 1/2 times a week but did stay down there if on there and backs. Hope that helps you

    Thank you for this video Ellie, it was very informative!
    I have a couple of questions for you, I would really appreciate if you could answer some of them :)
    1 - Do you get paid for the training?
    2 - Do you have to pay yourself for your suitcases, shoes, uniform etc.? And if you do, is it reimbursed once you're fully accepted, like for the US visa?
    3 - Do you know is it possible to stay in crew houses long term? As in, not only for the duration of the training, but after that as well?
    Thank you once again xxx

    • @EllieBennettx
      @EllieBennettx  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ana Kismartin Hiyaaaa! I’m glad you liked the video and of course I can answer your questions! Yes you get paid whilst training (not as much as you would when flying but still a good amount). And yes you pay for your own shoes, suitcases but you don’t pay for any of your uniform (only if you lose an item then you have to pay to replace it). As for Accomidation if you stay somewhere that people only rent out for training then probably not but it depends on where you stay- some places would if others are living there full time. Hope that answers your questions 💓💓

I don't think I could be cabin crew because I'm not the best flyer, but maybe the staff who check people in for flights/customer service etc. Do you know what the job title is? I haven't had much luck searching for jobs online ☹️ thanks x

But after that round i guess we have to move there right? I dnt knw about it. And my doubt is that BA site clearly mentions that visa is not given, and I am from India🙁. @@sunaynagautam2738 All the questions were multiple choice. There were 3 sections, first 2 rounds were free of time and it included questions related to customer service. And the third round was about 20 minutes to finish an overall 15 to 20 questions and it was oriented about different time zones, for eg: If it is 2pm in India what time will it be in europe, etc, etc, So Don't worry it's not that difficult. Pls make sure to attend it in a very calm and quiet place where you wouldn't be disturbed by anything.
