From other videos I've watched, American flight attendants only start getting their hourly pay when the cabin doors are shut, even if they have to report 1 hour prior to their departure. Sounds like you have a much better situation.
Ba are fab with disabled people and been on ba flights few times and cant do enough. Once I was late for a flight and I had to wait all day and late into the night and I had plenty food and drink I have fond memories of ba.
Just to clarify, it's not all African destinations that BA crew aren't allowed to leave the hotel. You only mentioned a few in particular Nigeria and Joburg that are dangerous but Accra is an example of a safe African destination that I know crew do like to go and explore as it's safe
Just got back from NBO, I found it very safe. LOS not so much. But VS crew stay at our hotel so we're well entertained! Haha! Accra is good for w night out.
Hi Bradley, I have just found your channel and your videos are amazing! I have always flown BA - whether if it is to America or Europe. I've never had a problem with BA and always find all of BA's crew very polite and helpful. I have recently flown your club Europe product from London Heathrow Terminal 3 to Budapest terminal 2B on the A320. It was amazing. The middle seat being blocked off is an added bonus and very unique. Everything was perfect, from the lounge on arrival to a hot towel before pushback. The food is also amazing on short and long haul. What I'm not so keen on now is the paid menu in Euro traveller. Thanks Bradley and keep doing what you're doing on and off the flight.
Another question Bradley: there is always an announcement before take off saying"cabin crew, doors to automatic and cross check" and then before landing "cabin crew, doors to manual and cross check". 1. What does doors to manual and automatic mean 2. Why is it important 3. What is a cross check 4. Why is a cross check important
Keiran Davidson, if you don't get your answer here, just type in "Doors to crosscheck' in the TH-cam search bar and you will find several videos from other pilots and crew who answer that question. I've seen them and subscribe to a few of them.
i do not agree, not every part of AFRICA is dangerous there are tons of attractions to go to in different countries and you would be safe i dont get why people think of the whole AFRICAN continent as a dangerous place...... it is very sad :(
Love your videos, very informative. Just a piece of advice that your voice is relatively soft and the background music tends to cover your voice, which makes it less clear.
Two questions: 1. If you want to fly somewhere on vacation that BA doesn't serve, can you apply your flight benefits to other airlines? 2. Since you are getting your passport stamped so often do you go through them quickly and does BA pay the fee for you to keep getting new passports?
Going to start working as Cabin Crew for BA as well this September, just wondering when you'll be able to put down your travel list for family members/when would they be able to use it. And great video, btw.
My dad captain with British airways 747 long haul, his name is Richard Sims, My step mum is Kimberly Sims, csd long haul both heathrow and my sister now cabin crew at gatwick mixed fleet! Have you flown with any of them?
This video looks so interesting I am enjoying this looking forward to see all your amazing videos and I would like to know more about your vlogs and travels as well which I also like travelling.
Would you recommend younger people getting in to the cabin crew industry? I'm 14 and I really like the sound of becoming part of the cabin crew. Thanks
Hello Bradley! As far as I know cabin crew can be trained to operate up to 3 different types of aircrafts, so I wanted to know which aircrafts you were operating and how is the choice made? Thank you in advance!
Cool! I'm going into year 11 at secondary school and I want to become cabin crew. Can you give me any tips or extra pointers that are beneficial for becoming cabin crew? Many thanks.
Do you guys have airline enemies? I read a Virgin Atlantic book called Cabin Fever (which I recommend to anyone), and in the book they say that Etihad and Emirates flight attendants act like they're royalty. Is this the same for you guys?
Hi Bradley, How many times applying did it take you to get the BA job? My 4th assessment day is this coming Wednesday! I am very nervous!! 1st AD - Sent home half way through 2nd AD - Same 3rd AD - Got to 1&1 interview stage! Any advice would be much appreciated!!! Thanks x
Ma'am I have cleared the online assessment of British Airways. Now to the assessment round.I have teeth braces. It will take a few span of time to be removed off.So if I make a visit to the assessment location will I be rejected for this reason?
What qualifications do you need to have to become a flight attendant, do you need a degree and go to uni? Can you go from a college qualification, (obviously being over 18 and customer service experience also) Also do you HAVE to speak at least one or more different languages?
You don't need a degree, when I applied I think it was 5 GCSEs grace C or above but it might have changed. You don't have to speak a language, I only speak English.
Thank-you, also another question.. Im not sure if you're in a relationship, if you are, is it difficult to make the relationship work do you find it hard being away from your partner?
I'm married and yeah it is hard being away, obviously we miss each other loads but at the same time we get to spend a lot of time together on my days off and you make the most of your time together. In terms of making it work we were engaged when I first started the job so we were solid but as long as you trust each other you can definitely make a relationship work!
You don't need any kind of qualification so it's a personal choice. If you plan on doing it for the rest of your life then maybe don't go to college. If you'll do it for a few years then do something else, maybe go to college.
what will happen if you get sick prior to flight schedule? are they gonna leave you to where you are or gonna fly with them or depends on how severe your sickness are?
the mayburys hi hope you don't mind me asking this question but what is the training like do they pay accommodation travel costs and how long does it last and how intensive and hard is it
I've never had it but I've seen people be sent home or put on standby. Depends how long the flight is delayed for before it's cancelled because crew will go out of hours.
It can be tricky being away yes but you make the most of the time you have at home, I speak about this in my pros/cons video: th-cam.com/video/oAIfukIDxMA/w-d-xo.html
Hi Bradley, got a quick question for you. I follow Pam Ann who always makes the jokes about Worldwide fleet(houses all over the world) and Mixed fleet. The question is, would it be WF or MF who crew the LHR-SIN SIN-SYD?(BAW16). Safe flights.
When will BA next be hiring for cabin crew? I've just turned 18 and I am currently studying aviation operations at college but I would love to apply for 2018 after I've left college and passed my driving test. Also do you have more chance of becoming crew if you drive?. Another amazing video by the way 😁😁
Travel Teen you can't apply to work for WW anymore, only MF. MF kind of replaced WW and EF. And BA choose whether you go on the 747 or the 380 when you join.
You only really do the questions before the outbound flight. On the way back there is a briefing but it’s more the CSM giving the crew info about the flight (passenger loads, specials etc.) rather than asking questions.
Thanks for your reply. Oh another thing...having passed all the reference checks, how long will it take before one actually is put on the training course? I'm trying to understand whether we're talking September, October, November...??
You'll get put on a course before your reference checks are complete, you then need to hope the reference company get all your checks done before your start date. A lot of people end up having their start date pushed back because the checks aren't done in time.
Thanks. Very last question :): I read that meals are not paid for when traveling. So whenever you have a layover, you need to head out and find food somewhere, correct? With the super low pay I guess crew can't afford to eat in the hotel or in restaurants unless they use money from other income sources. Is it a problem to always have to run around and find somewhere cheap to eat? Do you guys fill up on aircraft meals whilst still onboard whenever possible? :)))
Brilliant videos!!! You come across really well!!! I love hearing about your job. It fascinates me. I feel like I'm travelling the world with you!! Do you think 42 years old is too old to apply for cabin crew?? I'm a nurse at the moment...
the mayburys awww.... bless you....I'm just anxious that if I were to even get invited to a selection day.... I'd be the oldest one there!!! Haha... I'm really loving your videos and you have a really nice speaking voice. How do you find the energy to go to the gym after a flight? Also, please can you tell me what make of protein shake you use and how often you have a protein shake? Thank you Bradley . Looking forward to more videos....
After being successful from the assessment day/Interview how long does it take for one of the external companies to get in touch with you in regards to your history check ? Thanks
Never been given anything. I've heard people in First offering to buy the crew stuff out of the highlife shop, but I don't think you're supposed to accept it.
You are very good looking very articulate also have a very defined look and fab image for ba and united kingdom. Also I politely like too ask if you can watch how fast you speak as you talk very fast as I struggle at times to keep up with what u are saying also use the subtitle opťion so pple can keep up with you much love Dan
Hi, these videos are very helpful and informative. I have just subscribed and I am currently applying for BA having just completed the online assessment.
Great video! I like it, I just wondering if I study and work together, can I get work in airway. I’m a student actually now, but really want to be a cabin crew, Is that ok if I work and study at the same time?
Hi thanks for this video! thumbs up👍🏻 I was wondering if you are allowed to take someone with you free on the flight on your shift? & do you have wifi on the planes? Thank you!!
hello sir, I am a turbaned Sikh boy from India and have a beard, as per my religion. in Indian domestic airlines, turbaned Sikh boys are allowed to have a beard, even if they are in cabin crew. please tell me if British Airways will allow me to work with turban and a beard ? please do reply
the mayburys And wouldn't you like to fly from Gatwick for some time? I mean having layovers on tropical islands such as st lzcia, barbados, etc must be great, in my opinion ;)
Hello son 🙄, i am from india and i want to know about the minimum qualifications and height for a flight attendant? My son want to become a cabin crew in British airways 😃.
Do you know what your days you are on standby at the start of the month? And also, do you have airport standby or ready reserve at home. Sorry to be a pain with the questions!🤦♂️😂
Are there any haircut requirements? i typically have my top slick back and bald back and sides, would that be acceptable? Also whats the difference between mixed fleet and euro fleet? Cheers mate!
There's nothing in the uniform guidelines about how short mens hair is allowed. I usually get a .5 on the sides and back. MF was created about 7 years ago as a new contract and anyone who becomes cabin crew now is part of MF. Before MF there was EF who fly European routes and WW who fly long haul.
From other videos I've watched, American flight attendants only start getting their hourly pay when the cabin doors are shut, even if they have to report 1 hour prior to their departure. Sounds like you have a much better situation.
From one Flight Attendant to another, you enjoy and please fly safe....
Ba are fab with disabled people and been on ba flights few times and cant do enough. Once I was late for a flight and I had to wait all day and late into the night and I had plenty food and drink I have fond memories of ba.
I think aircraft recency is one flight on any aircraft in 3 months and one flight on specific aircraft you are trained on every 6 months.
Could you show more of your work? Aircraft, Uniform, Preparations on board, maybe other crew, etc.? It would be really interesting to watch.
Just to clarify, it's not all African destinations that BA crew aren't allowed to leave the hotel. You only mentioned a few in particular Nigeria and Joburg that are dangerous but Accra is an example of a safe African destination that I know crew do like to go and explore as it's safe
Haven't been to Accra so can't comment on that one :)
southlondon boy Cape Town is safe too tbh
thank you accra is a safe place to explore ... i know because i live there
I'm with Emirates and Cape Town is honestly just as safe as any other city in the UK or the US
Very nice......Yes, the last time I was in Dusseldorf, Germany I really enjoyed.. I had many crew friends take me out to dinner on several times..
The crew rest area on some of our 747s (Super Hi-J's) have a toilet - although its a bit cramped!
Just got back from NBO, I found it very safe. LOS not so much. But VS crew stay at our hotel so we're well entertained! Haha! Accra is good for w night out.

jasminderpinder oh right, thank you
You are doing a good Job with your channel, I appreciate. Keep it up man :) all the best :)
i do not agree, not every part of AFRICA is dangerous there are tons of attractions to go to in different countries and you would be safe i dont get why people think of the whole AFRICAN continent as a dangerous place...... it is very sad :(
Giorgio Armanio II like I said we do do some stuff in some places, I'm just commenting on the destinations I've been to
Thank youuuuu :) i have been wanting to apply for so long now.. I guess I will be giving it a go now
Tbf Nairobi is significantly safer than Abuja and Luanda. Been there quite a few times and been all around the city.
Can you do a pros and cons video of being cabin crew
Love your videos, very informative. Just a piece of advice that your voice is relatively soft and the background music tends to cover your voice, which makes it less clear.
Two questions: 1. If you want to fly somewhere on vacation that BA doesn't serve, can you apply your flight benefits to other airlines? 2. Since you are getting your passport stamped so often do you go through them quickly and does BA pay the fee for you to keep getting new passports?
You can get staff travel on other airlines yeah. We don't get our passports stamped anywhere.
There's a toilet in the crew rest on the 747 but only the super high J aircraft. On the mid J we use the same rear lavs as the PAX :)
Great! I want to be a cabin crew for British Airways too. I hope I can succeed as work in heath environment
Do they pay for your apartment or do you have to afford rent?
When you go on trips in China, for example, do the pilots go with you or generally just the cabin crew?
You mean when we do stuff down route? Usually go for a drink and food with pilots when you land and sometimes do things with them in the day too
Going to start working as Cabin Crew for BA as well this September, just wondering when you'll be able to put down your travel list for family members/when would they be able to use it.
And great video, btw.
6 months after your start date. Thank you!
Great video. Please upload videos more frequently.
My dad captain with British airways 747 long haul, his name is Richard Sims, My step mum is Kimberly Sims, csd long haul both heathrow and my sister now cabin crew at gatwick mixed fleet! Have you flown with any of them?
I'm not on the 747, your mum would be world wide and I only fly from heathrow not gatwick lol. So no I haven't flown with any of them sorry!
Are you a plane geek and do you think being cabin crew is a good job for plane geeks?
Yes and yes
the mayburys thank you
I’m confused as to why it’s dangerous in Abuja. Abuja is a major city and has all types of people
This video looks so interesting I am enjoying this looking forward to see all your amazing videos and I would like to know more about your vlogs and travels as well which I also like travelling.
Would you recommend younger people getting in to the cabin crew industry? I'm 14 and I really like the sound of becoming part of the cabin crew. Thanks
Yeah definitely! Even if you want to go into something else it's a great job to do for a couple of years while you're young
Hello Bradley! As far as I know cabin crew can be trained to operate up to 3 different types of aircrafts, so I wanted to know which aircrafts you were operating and how is the choice made? Thank you in advance!
A319/20/21, 777/787, A380. The airline chooses for you
Cool! I'm going into year 11 at secondary school and I want to become cabin crew. Can you give me any tips or extra pointers that are beneficial for becoming cabin crew? Many thanks.
See how you go for drinks and dinner with the crew, does that include the pilots?
Yeah most of the time
Do you guys have airline enemies? I read a Virgin Atlantic book called Cabin Fever (which I recommend to anyone), and in the book they say that Etihad and Emirates flight attendants act like they're royalty. Is this the same for you guys?
We're all friends in the sky. My sister used to work for Emirates, so I wouldn't say that's the case.
Hi Bradley,
How many times applying did it take you to get the BA job?
My 4th assessment day is this coming Wednesday! I am very nervous!!
1st AD - Sent home half way through
2nd AD - Same
3rd AD - Got to 1&1 interview stage!
Any advice would be much appreciated!!!
Thanks x
Hey! I got it first time, but if you fail you can apply again, I think you have to wait something like 6 months
Ma'am I have cleared the online assessment of British Airways. Now to the assessment round.I have teeth braces. It will take a few span of time to be removed off.So if I make a visit to the assessment location will I be rejected for this reason?
sounds like BA has better working conditions than other airlines out there.
Great video!! I'm learning english with your videos and in a future I want to be a cabin crew 🤗
What qualifications do you need to have to become a flight attendant, do you need a degree and go to uni? Can you go from a college qualification, (obviously being over 18 and customer service experience also) Also do you HAVE to speak at least one or more different languages?

In terms of making it work we were engaged when I first started the job so we were solid but as long as you trust each other you can definitely make a relationship work!
Hey could I speak to you ? Should you actually graduate from college to become a flight attendant ?
PICKLE RICKSTER You don't really need a college level education, although you have to be over 18 for British Airways
If you're sick down route then you'll just sty in the hotel another night and position back as soon as you're better.
Quick Question - Do cabin crew get bother with there ears blocking like some passengers do or does their ears adapt/get used to it? Cheers!
Your ears get used to it, I don't notice anything happening.
If I am more than 6'1 so, can I become a cabin crew?
Me Cabin Crew Of Etihad Airways!!!
Thank you for making these videos...super nice....Let me know When you are in Vancouver BC Next! Would be great to do happy hours at Joe fortez
Do you get payed during training?
If you have friends in the city you are staying In are you free to go and stay with them?
Yeah you can go and visit them
Quick question . Is your pay done hourly or done by mileage ??
Hourly
And do you ever do any passenger announcements or is that just the cabin manager?
Yeah the crew do most of the announcements
What are the perks of working with BA rather than a budget airline?
Main one would be getting off the aircraft to see the destinations, especially long haul
the mayburys hi hope you don't mind me asking this question but what is the training like do they pay accommodation travel costs and how long does it last and how intensive and hard is it
Do BA recruit foreigners not residing in Great Britain?
Handsome cabin crew😍
I want to work with British Airways as a Cabin Crew.
Dude! Your hair is frickin' amazing! And your face and eyes . . . WOWZA!! :)
I am just curious to know what's next after an online assessment of British Airways Cabin crew
If you pass they will call you in for an assessment centre
Are you allowed to leave the hotel while your in Cairo
Up to the captain
So can u plz.tell me the difference between mixed fleet and citiflyer crew .what is the difference between them??
When a flight is cancelled what does the crew do?
I've never had it but I've seen people be sent home or put on standby. Depends how long the flight is delayed for before it's cancelled because crew will go out of hours.
Is your apartment paid by the airline ?
Do you find it difficult to keep a family life/dating with a work schedule that changes all the time?
It can be tricky being away yes but you make the most of the time you have at home, I speak about this in my pros/cons video: th-cam.com/video/oAIfukIDxMA/w-d-xo.html
well he is 24, i dont think he is worried about that now, and he already said that this is a temporary job for him.
Hiii, how close do you live to Heathrow? What is rent like? Did you have to move closer or did you already live there? Thanks 😬😬😬
I live an hour away and I'm not renting so not quite sure sorry! I already lived here. There is a lot of house shares with other crew available.
MF do they Singapore Sydney route on a 777. WW do just Singapore on the 380 though.
Why are you leaving BA and what do you plan to do next?
When will BA next be hiring for cabin crew? I've just turned 18 and I am currently studying aviation operations at college but I would love to apply for 2018 after I've left college and passed my driving test. Also do you have more chance of becoming crew if you drive?. Another amazing video by the way 😁😁
I think they literally just closed it on the 31st July but usually it opens again in a few months time. No you don't have to drive. And thank you :)
Would you say it's better working for mixed fleet or Worldwide? Also why dont you work the 747?
Travel Teen you can't apply to work for WW anymore, only MF. MF kind of replaced WW and EF. And BA choose whether you go on the 747 or the 380 when you join.
Hello my assessment day is next month. What documents I have to take with me for the assessment day?
Do you get free tickets for annual leave
what happens if u are in another country and u answer the questions wrong in a briefing while working with british airways
You only really do the questions before the outbound flight. On the way back there is a briefing but it’s more the CSM giving the crew info about the flight (passenger loads, specials etc.) rather than asking questions.
the mayburys thank you 😊
Hi, does it get lonely working with different crew on every flight and sleeping alone in different hotels every night?
I never feel lonely, crew are good at getting along with each other and making friends quickly.
I wouldn't say it's super low pay, I manage just fine. Some people bring food with them from home.
It's was my aunties dream to work as a cabin crew member, she said she needed to be at least 5"2 she was 5"0😂
Brilliant videos!!! You come across really well!!! I love hearing about your job. It fascinates me. I feel like I'm travelling the world with you!! Do you think 42 years old is too old to apply for cabin crew?? I'm a nurse at the moment...
No i don't think it's too old, go for it!
the mayburys awww.... bless you....I'm just anxious that if I were to even get invited to a selection day....
Thank you John! It takes a lot of motivation to go the same day you land, I usually go the next day or sometimes both ha! Its myprotien
After being successful from the assessment day/Interview how long does it take for one of the external companies to get in touch with you in regards to your history check ?
Thanks
Hey Jade, like a week maybe, can't really remember sorry! Hope you hear back soon
as cabin crew do you stay with the same crew?
different crew each trip
Do people give you tips, or gifts? Can you keep them? How about reading material as a gift or chocolates?
Never been given anything. I've heard people in First offering to buy the crew stuff out of the highlife shop, but I don't think you're supposed to accept it.
I have just applied and done the online test/assessment. How long do you think I will wait to hear anything back?
Sorry Lauren I can't remember, shouldn't take any more than 2 weeks I would imagine.
I got my assessment day on the 29th! Heard back yesterday haha. Thank you
@lauren beattie my AD is 4 sept when is yours
winter july mines on the 29th! Good luck for yours! Fingers crossed both of ours goes well! May see you in training! Haha
29 August that is haha
How often do you work with the same crew members?
After about 6 months I would usually have someone I know on most trips. Whenever I fly on the 380 there's people I know.
Do you get to choose if you do long haul flights or deos the airline choose for you ?
Everyone does long haul but the airline chooses your roster for you.
Question: What does economy and business mean on your topic? and would the college course “tourism” help in my future career as a flight attendant?
yes
What sort of things would increase your chances of getting into BA as cabin crew?
customer service experience, being confident at the assessment day
Do you need a VISA for every country you fly to?
Just the USA
You are very good looking very articulate also have a very defined look and fab image for ba and united kingdom. Also I politely like too ask if you can watch how fast you speak as you talk very fast as I struggle at times to keep up with what u are saying also use the subtitle opťion so pple can keep up with you much love Dan
Sorry Dan, I'm just trying to keep the video short and sweet, I'll slow down a little for you :)
Hi, these videos are very helpful and informative. I have just subscribed and I am currently applying for BA having just completed the online assessment.
good luck!
How long is the training to become cabin crew? Also is doing a course like travel and tourism a good course for someone who wants to be cabin crew?
Training is around 5 weeks and yeah it's a good course but it's not essential.
Great video! I like it, I just wondering if I study and work together, can I get work in airway. I’m a student actually now, but really want to be a cabin crew, Is that ok if I work and study at the same time?
Can you be a flight attendant for a first job ?
Yeah you can!
Hi thanks for this video! thumbs up👍🏻 I was wondering if you are allowed to take someone with you free on the flight on your shift? & do you have wifi on the planes? Thank you!!
Do you fly all types of aircraft and which one are you trained on.?
A320 (19 and 21 too), A380, 777, 787
Do you now if BA flies people to the assessment day? I haven't heard back from BA and I'm starting to get worried. Thanks for any help!
They won't pay for you to get to the assessment day. You can fly but you'll have to pay for it.
the mayburys thank you!
hello sir,
I am a turbaned Sikh boy from India and have a beard, as per my religion.
in Indian domestic airlines, turbaned Sikh boys are allowed to have a beard, even if they are in cabin crew.
please tell me if British Airways will allow me to work with turban and a beard ?
please do reply
yes
Which course should do after 12th to become cabin crew
Loved the video!
I’m in the hold pool for BA, how long will this take does anyone know?
Do you know al barnes?
Is there a lot of work in the winter or do you have a lot less flights? Also do you fly from Newcastle or only out of London, Manchester?
It's the same all year round. And only Heathrow, we fly to Manchester and Newcastle but always start at Heathrow.
the mayburys so if you live in Newcastle can you commute to Heathrow ?
Yeah there's lots of people who commute from Manchester, Newcastle, Scotland etc.
Do you only fly from Heathrow or also from Gatwick?
Only Heathrow. Gatwick has a separate fleet.
the mayburys And wouldn't you like to fly from Gatwick for some time? I mean having layovers on tropical islands such as st lzcia, barbados, etc must be great, in my opinion ;)
Hello son 🙄, i am from india and i want to know about the minimum qualifications and height for a flight attendant? My son want to become a cabin crew in British airways 😃.
What is your favourite European destination?
From the US cabin crew I watch, they have a reserve program, I.e, one month reserve, one month schedule. What's BA standby like?
It's random every month
Do you know what your days you are on standby at the start of the month? And also, do you have airport standby or ready reserve at home. Sorry to be a pain with the questions!🤦♂️😂
Yes we know our standby when the roster is published about 12 days before the start of the month. We have both home standby and airport standby.
John Dawber thanks so much!!🙏
Are there any haircut requirements? i typically have my top slick back and bald back and sides, would that be acceptable? Also whats the difference between mixed fleet and euro fleet?
Cheers mate!
There's nothing in the uniform guidelines about how short mens hair is allowed. I usually get a .5 on the sides and back. MF was created about 7 years ago as a new contract and anyone who becomes cabin crew now is part of MF. Before MF there was EF who fly European routes and WW who fly long haul.
