      First time viewer, just stumbled across your channel by chance ( as you do, lol ). Personally I believe they are a natural occurring hypomelanistic mutation of R. lanceolata, that can happen anywhere both in the wild and/or in the aquarium. Whether they were collected in the wild, or first appeared in an aquarium, those captive specimens have be selectively paired and lined bred in the hobby. If this mutation appeared in the wild, nature would dictate through natural selection and random pairings that the mutation would disappear over time, hence this would also explain why a wild population has not been discovered. Make sense? Thanks for sharing, great channel. New subscriber.

      Hi thank you for your video. I think I have one male and six females. They are quite violent. Do you think I should separate some females? Cheers Col 🍻

      as long as your temp is 80F /27C or it should be fine ... sand substrates help and less objects in the sad area.. ideally better in a species only tank or a tank with them in mind but they arent too hard to keep feed or breed!

    I'm terribly curious- I wonder if the aggression may decrease if there were less males competing for the females? It seems like this is mildly new territory and a lot of hobbyists are learning more about them via observation. Have you learned any new things about their behavior as time has gone on?

    • @AquaMalik
      @AquaMalik  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Terry, yes that was my first source on info for them! I'll make a spawning video a sap! try caves with .75" to 1" openings that are about 6 to 8" deep! that seems to be a key in getting eggs! my male doesn't like the clay ones so they only use the gray pvc caves! hang in there ! they live for a long time so you got time! cheers!
