I like the Angelicus loach. I like their colors with white spots and streaks on a black background. They are peaceful and so active. They frequently forget that they are supposed to be bottoms feeders and they swim higher in the water with my barbs at feeding time. They are not shy and almost never hide. They like to take power naps on an anubias leaf next to the bubbles from an airstone.
Welp, you've given me some more options to consider to go with my hillstream loaches 😊
I’m getting you showing some love to the loach gang 🔥🕺🏽🙏🏽
I haven’t kept any of these, but I do keep hillstream loaches. I have a Myer’s Hillstream loach in a 29, and then I have 3 reticulated and 1 sewellia sp. spotted hillstream loach in my 60 gallon African butterfly fish tank. The Myer’s being a smaller species, he mostly feeds on biofilm and algae, along with the occasional fish flake. My reticulateds and spotted however, they’ll eat just about anything that I put in the tank. They cleared out just about all of the algae within a day of going into my 60 gallon and will readily feed on algae wafers, vibra bites, brine shrimp, catfish pellets, and I’ve even seen them eating crickets that my butterfly fish drop to the bottom. Their tank is run by 2 large sponge filters and kept at 79 degrees to accommodate the ABF and they are absolutely thriving. One of my favorite species to keep for sure
I love me some derpy loaches 😁 Great info, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed!
That first guy would definitely turns some heads! That's a good looking fish!!
And those zebra loaches, you're so on point! From the footage you showed, they act just like my little Australian desert gobies! Too cute!
The one I've had on my bucket list for awhile is the rosy loach. I do smaller tanks because of health issues, so it's easier to keep a big group of smaller loaches than have one or two lonely large loaches.
Love the selection of loaches you chose
Used catch the spike loach or stone loach in local rivers and streams in the Republic of Ireland 🇮🇪 and kept them in aquariums, fun fish to watch, especially before thunderstorms, greetings from Ireland.
I like your videos on the fish you show and the information that comes with it ,also you keep different fish I like to see that it’s awesome when you can see different varieties ,great video 👍😎
I am loving your content, awesome stuff!
Happy to hear that!
Damn, now I need more loaches😊
I have golden khuli loaches they seem longer and more uniquely shaped than the others. Not sure what theyll look like as adults but seriously love the long skinny body type.
I have found they love high flow oxygenated areas and seem to be hanging around the lava rock with airstone. They dont come out too far from the rocks, but i do get to see them once and a while. I have a group of 7. Have had them since July. //(I see them more than my anchor catfish lol)//
i just got some pasta loaches recently and i gotta agree they are very fun to watch
i was a little worried about them since they seem to like chasing each other out of hiding places but it's good to know that behavior is probably normal and they're just like that
I really like all loaches there one of my favorite species of fish in the hobby. Thanks for sharing. 🙏👍✌️💗💯🔥
I have Kuhli loaches, and enjoy them. I’m inspired to start looking at some others, I’d never heard of some of the loaches you mentioned.
I had a Red Lizard Loach for about a week... Untill he jumped out through a small opening in the tank lid! I hope I come across another (especially now that I have an improved lid).
I had Cobitis taenia once.
They really don't like temperture higher than 18°C.
You have soft water and hornwort does well? I always struggle with it.
I have 2. A weather dojo loach and a golden loach
Are any of the loaches you listed good at eating snails? If so do you know which ones would be the best out of these?
What kind of tan colored sand is shown in this video?
Love the videos. Between you and Dan, I'm itching to get loaches. Looking at dwarf chain loaches for my 32 gallon. Are they compatible with Amano shrimp?
That could be tricky, chain loaches love inverts. But a full grown amano is probably large enough to be safe. Tough call.
@SteenfottAquatics yeah. I will say all the posts I've read up on this scenario seems to be ok. Haven't come across someone having a bad experience. But still gives me pause and when that happens I usually go with the caution. Now these Amanos are pretty big. Bigger than the male betta that was in the same 10 gallon tank, no issues.
👍🏻👍🏻
What happens when all(8) of my platty fry have the coloring my 2 black phantom tetra?????
