    OVERALL SUMMARY
    I made these videos to document my experience eating a diet termed the “Lion Diet” by Mikhaila Peterson, daughter of Jordan Peterson, who introduced this diet to my thinking. Lion Diet is a strict version of the Carnivore diet that only allows for ruminant meat, salt, and water. I am not a nutrition expert or doctor, but I hope you will find my story enjoyable and informational.

    Up until February of this year I would drive my daughter to school and stop for a coffee with cream/sugar and a donut on the way home. I started to suffer so I kicked that first. On February 28 I kicked alcohol. By May all sugar was out. Started carnivore July 3. Getting huge results, feel so much better but still have some issues. Wife is in great shape but has always had to suffer by eating like a bird. She has switched to meat and it is so wonderful to watch her enjoy her food finally with fat loss at the same time.

      @@FerrignoFreedom get yourself 1 liter of club soda and buy a small bag of magnesium hydroxide from Amazon. Put 1 tsp of the mag hydroxide into the liter bottle and shake it up. This creates a chemical reaction between the carbon and the magnesium and converts to mag bicarbonate which can only be found in pristine water. It's the highest bio available form of magnesium available just a tip make sure the club soda is cold before you put the hydroxide in and put it back in the fridge. After 24 hours the hydroxide should be mostly dissolved and it's ready for drinking

    I remember when I would crave a cold beer. It was a must with certain foods and after yard work in the summertime. After 10 months of carnivore I now get that same satisfaction from a cold bottle of San Pellegrino. Other than that I drink 2-3 cups of coffee with heavy cream and Irish butter in the morning then 1-4 liters of tap water the rest of the day. I usually salt my food heavily, I’ve found that I’d rather eat my salt than drink it.

    I looked through all the comments. Not a single person mentioned either deuterium depleted water or metabolic water. To lessen thirst and over-hydration, look into the topic of deuterium and consider ways to lessen it. The body uses water to flush out excess deuterium, but the problem is the water most people drink is higher deuterium.
    Also, check out Quinton minerals. I'm switching from LMNT electrolytes to this other option that provides a wider variety of trace minerals in their most optimal ratio. I've been mixing these minerals with my deuterium depleted water that is diluted with Mountain Valley spring water. The result is about 80 ppm deuterium, half the amount the average person gets.

    In the past, I also went from sugar soda to Diet soda (Coke) and I'd drink 6 a day. I ended up getting horrible headaches/migraines...bad enough that I'd need to take hot showers and have the water just hit my head...(no lights on...in the dark). I had never had headaches or migraines. The artificial sweeteners are CHEMICALS and they will affect people differently, but if you get headaches or migraines and drink Diet sodas, or in your coffee, etc...then consider it may be the artificial sweetener!

      There's 34 mg of caffeine in coke zero and 48 mg in diet coke. If you were drinking 6 a day, that's more caffeine than a monster energy drink. If the migraines started after quitting the soda it was probably because caffeine is a vasodialator, meaning it expands your blood vessels.

    I learned a long time ago there is no value that comes with soda so I had always thought drinking fruit juices was better for me. I did this for many years until I learned about what sugar does to your body and its relationship to fruit in general. My transition to water sounds about like yours, I've learned to love just water as I feel like I'm replenishing something that's good for me while also including salt and electrolyte supplements. While I'm still doing a more keto method meat-heavy mind you, I'm still getting many of the benefits of eating better I've lost some weight and have a better sense of clarity with the no complex carbs and sugar elements of this lifestyle. You continue to inspire your journey has been interesting and I'll continue to watch and learn.

    Hey Dante...Your channel served up on my TH-cam feed a few weeks back and I totally enjoyed your journey video. I had been on keto for a couple of years then became more ketovore. But I would cheat and gain weight, then go back on and not lose anything. I was doing too many carbs for me I think. So I started carnivore a couple of weeks ago and have been happy that I am able to stick with it so far. I wasn't sure at first. But even after just 14 days, I am feeling better. Lost 5 lbs of water weight. Now I don't want to go off because I don't want to feel like I did 14 days ago. That keeps me going.
    I am older than you and have a few health issues from years of bad eating, but I just want to do the best that I can for however long I am on this planet.
    I can tell that some of the people close to me think I am crazy. But I am staying on it.
    I am drinking decaf coffee with butter and drinking LaCroix. Not sure if this is holding me back yet. I will see how this works for me. So this video is right on time for what I have been thinking about.
    Your videos really help me. I think I just like your honesty and it is supportive for my journey. I want to thank you for that.

    • @FerrignoFreedom
      @FerrignoFreedom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s not wanting coffee, alcohol, etc. it’s craving. The key is learning to discipline yourself to know the difference between craving and actual hunger, and then the acting on that knowledge. Craving is an emotional response, but if I usually talk it out, and look at the ingredients on whatever it is, I can overcome those cravings and send them packing. Amazingly, lately I don’t even have cravings for anything bad. Ever since I started extended fasting, it’s taken me to a better place mentally.

    Thanks for the video! Did you need time for your body to adjust to higher salt intake? I've been conscious of my salt intake for several years, and rarely salted my food, and now 3-4 weeks in to carnivore diet I do not feel good when I add liberal amounts of salt, so just curious if that may be something my body will adjust to over time.

    • @FerrignoFreedom
      @FerrignoFreedom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I was surprised I did not need an adjustment period. I have been avoiding salt for many years following physician suggestions. I had even convinced myself that I hated the taste of salt even though I knew I could not eat eggs or grits without salt. It’s as if my body had really been looking for some more salt when I started, because I absolutely love salt now. Not the refined table salt garbage you can get in the store, but good natural salt from Utah. Himalayan pink salt is a good option as well, but I would avoid refined table salt. I hope you find what works best for you my friend.

    I've loved carbonated beverages from a very young age. I loved regular Pepsi until my early 20s when I forced myself to drink Diet Pepsi for a couple months and I acquired the taste and I loved Diet Pepsi as my favorite beverage for two decades. Last year I quit all sweeteners and afterwards Diet Pepsi tasted like a chemical cocktail. I have transitioned to unsweetened flavored sparkling water where the only ingredients are carbonated water and natural flavor. I only drink the no name brands now since Pepsi owns bubly, Coca-Cola owns Aha, National Beverage owns La Croix and Nestle owns Maison Perrier and none of these companies care in the slightest about the health of their customers.
    I don't see a reason why I can't continue to enjoy these beverages. I find it helps me feel more satiated which is helping me on my fat loss journey. Dr. Berg says there are benefits CO2. I hope there are studies done on plain carbonated water beverages.

    • @FerrignoFreedom
      @FerrignoFreedom  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I drink sparkling water/mineral water/club soda almost the entire time. Only recently did I stop using club soda because of the higher acidity (which isn’t good for your teeth) But I still enjoy the occasional sparkling water or mineral water. I used to use Lacroix flavored sparkling water, but that extra flavoring is not as natural as they make it sound so I let it go. Purified water is clearly the best choice, but you will still get excellent results using all of the ones I mentioned here. If it’s gonna keep you from sticking to your proper way of eating, don’t sacrifice your bubbles. 😎👍🏽

    I have such a hard time stomaching salt water/electrolyte water. Because of this, I struggle off and on with hydration… I find that no matter how much water I drink and how much I over salt my food, I still have low energy and dark urine. It’s very frustrating.

      @@FerrignoFreedom Thanks for the response. I was on standard carnivore for 6 weeks. Mostly ate beef and butter, occasion bacon, eggs, and cheese. Now I’m two weeks into strict lion. I tried half a teaspoon of salt in some mineral water today and got it down. So I’ll try that for a few days and see how that works. On the bright side, I’m down 40+ pounds (only weigh myself every two weeks), my blood pressure is improved, and no more leg swelling/constant craving and crashing cycle.

      Here's one where I talked about habits and addictions from Dec of 2021. th-cam.com/video/xKGMj8uyN3U/w-d-xo.html. I don't think I mention vape specifically here, but I quit vaping shortly after this video in January of 2022. I didn't dedicate one video to just quitting vaping, but I may have to do that.
      I did mention my progress as each video came out. I can tell you I began to limit myself months before I finally quit by reducing the nicotine content a little at a time and over a period of month I got down to vaping 0 nic. That made it a little easier to reduce my overall intake, but that took a while too. Eventually I stopped bringing my vape with me anywhere, and just vaping at home, and then I was able to put it down one day and I haven't picked it up since.

    Do you mean coconut oil is not good?

    • @FerrignoFreedom
      @FerrignoFreedom  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have a tendency to believe coconut oil may have benefits for some people, but I have trouble reintroducing nearly anything plant based.
      There is also an issue with oxidation regarding processed oils such as coconut and olive oil that people don’t consider though. If they’re expeller pressed in production (or “hot pressed”) the nutritional value is reduced by oxidation. Even cold pressed virgin olive oil or coconut oil is often transported overseas in very heated conditions and/or are exposed to light that causes oxidation that actually makes those oils inflammatory from what I have studied. I don’t claim to be an expert on these oils, but my experience has shown me that I function better without them so I still avoid them, and many other may need to do so as well to experience the best result. I hope this answers your question my friend. 😎👍🏽
