I studied abroad in Cork back in 2018. While I was there I saw a game at Turner's Cross, and even with the cost of travel factored in it was still a bargain. For 15 euro I watched 6 goals fly in, and also got a crash course geography lesson (I watched them play Derry, and at the time I didn't know Derry was close to the UK Ireland border.) Can't recommend the LOI enough, it truly is a fantastic league.

    Hey there,
I´m a football enthusiast from germany and was on vacay in Dublin earlier this year. For me, it was clear that i had to watch an game of the LOI. The Pats where the only team that played at home on this weekend, so i went to Richmond Park. What a lovely ground! It was the 0:0 against Dundalk, well, saddenly it was unspectactular game.. But from that game on, i´m a Pats-Supporter.
I was wondering why football´s such a small thing in Ireland, but this video made it clear. I think it´s actually sad, you got some talented players. But it´s clear that you can have a brighter future playing in england.

additonally tho that. I searched on the internet to get an overview of the different clubs, like a profile, but you won´t find anything. What i learned so far: Dundalk and Shamrock are the ''big player'' in the league. The Bohs are the most historic club, Pats. are neutral? What about the other guys, is there something like the typical-loser-team or something in that way?

@@nils.7451 They got a new owner last year who has put a lot of money into the club. That’s why they did so well last year, and that will certainly carry on to this year, and probably for the next few seasons. Our league has tended to be like that historically. Clubs do well for a period but then can’t sustain it. Dundalk came from nowhere really to finish 2nd to my team, St Patrick’s Athletic, in 2013. They then won the league the following year and had a period of dominance, until about 2020, when Shamrock Rovers took over. No team has really had a period of dominance that lasted longer than that. Rovers are going for 4 titles in a row this year, which has only been done once before, by Shamrock Rovers themselves in the 1980’s. Nice to see some interest in the league from abroad. Glad that you enjoyed your visit to Richmond Park.

It's awesome that the league seems to have finally found some stability, i was a fan of Cabo in first divison, it broke my heart to hear they left as Cabinteely when they bought Bray Wanderers.
