Advice from a 600 hours fighterz player (My ss2 teen gohan rank is top 100 in North America) as my first fighting game and sparking is my first tenkaichi game. I’ll give you simple advice to reduce (can’t completely stop) getting shit on online. PRACTICE ANYWAY practice your combos Practice rush-vanish back-sidestep/side dash Practice the super counters And most importantly: PRACTICE ONE THING AT A TIME You will not be good at first You will get pub stomped by z broly’s instant spark But THAT IS OKAY I spent 5 hours fighting cpu’s and doing the piccolo training before i went online to get stomped.
Unfortunately with everyone making videos about how to super counter; it’s all pointless. No matter how long you practice in training. It will NOT be the same when you play online. Due to different latency of other people’s connections and your own. The frame window will always be between 4 frames(max) to 2 frames(min) due to other players connections.
Ultimately. Since the cooldown is 12 frames. Which is 1/5th of a second at 60fps. You’re better off just trying to mash it online unless the connection is pristine
I was in the lab for 4 hrs straight, I thought my z counter vanishes and super counters were godly, then I jumped back online and couldn't pull one single z counter because the timing changes and its trash
Yeah, honestly makes training labs completely pointless. Knowing the z counters and super counters are an absolute MUST to master if you plan on even having fun on this game.
best way to practice counters vanishes is live matches because you are battling latency...lab is coo for moves and movement with building muscle control but i got so much better in live matches
To improve your counter skills, focus on online training rather than offline training, and try to get friends involved to help. Player matches with teams are ideal because they last longer and offer more variety. Avoid using the Z Counter...instead, rely on Super Counters, as this will help you build the habit of using it automatically (you'll lose a lot at first but it's part of the process), gradually breaking any reliance on Z Counters. Training online is generally more beneficial, though it's essential to start by learning the correct timings and finding the best method that works for you first. Make use of all sensory cues: sight, sound, and the unique haptic feedback of the DualSense controller, which offers distinct vibrations for each action. An online training mode, similar to what Injustice had, would be awesome!
Since you're a smaller channel & the community won't run away with this, another way to practice is blocking vanishes & learning to block mid combo. It's takes practice, but you can in fact out-react vanishes, counters & even combos mid swing. Once you get that down, a little delay will give you perfect timing for vanishes, and yet another perfect timing for super counters. It will also aid you greatly mid battle. People are expecting to get countered, or vanished, but when you manage to block & stop the whole process in it's tracks, they are visibly lost for a second. It's a great way to punish & pretty hilarious.
Thats the main reason i stopped playing online, it is like the timing is getting randomized all the time, My super counters are consistent i'm offline but online they end up being RNG
@@josec1087What ruined the game online is it's unnecessarily tight parry/counter windows. They're tighter than freaking Sekiro. Put online lag in there and the whole game becomes unplayable as any kind of parry/counter needs point blank accuracy
Probably a stupid question but what are the literal inputs for a vanish and what are the literal inputs for the counter ? Timing was always easy to me I just don’t exactly know which button is doing what. I played all Tenkaichi games but I never used standard controls until now and somehow I can’t actually tell if it’s R1, O, or X that’s making me vanish Ive just been alternating between them and surviving but I want actual control Same case with perception and counters. I still can’t tell if it’s R1 or O that gets me out of combos so I press both and usually get out of it which is why I can’t tell which button is doing it 😅
@@Fr4ctur3d95 So for classic you vanish with pressing O at the right time on ps5 on standard I think it’s r1 it should be your block. And super counter it forward on your movement stick and square at the same time for ps5
Would you consider making a guide for playing Giants properly? Ik they’re super gimmicky etc. and not meant to dominate high ranks but would really appreciate any help as the Apes have always been my fav forms and it sucks getting eternal back shots when I face someone slightly competent 💀 appreciate any tips and great vid as always
Giants are hard cause it’s hard to see what your opponent is doing and the only counter you really have is super counter which is hard to do when you can’t see. I’ll do a giants guide for you either this week or next week depending on how long it takes me to learn them 👍
If they don’t adjust the mechanics of defense/Ki management in this game, all high level play is going to be endless vanish/ki wars. Hope not; it would be a boring thing to watch.
Whoevers idea it was to have a near frame perfect counter in an online fighting game has a gene deficiency. Its already hard as f offline against the input reading bots but that mechanic shouldn't exist period
I say take notes from killer instinct. A combo breaker is good, but you shouldn't be able to mash it. Cool down for failed attempts, uk, like the old games...
Thank you very much man. I have been practicing super counters and had the same thought. "How do i know im even doing the super counter the correct way" Ill take this into lab and let you know if I see any progress
The first half of this video was being told to practice vanish. Then the second half was to take a "tiny pause" compared to your vanishing timing and to practice it for hours. I have looked at 10 vids about this today and this was the laziest. Sorry man but you did not give any actual good advice. Please try to put more effort in the videos you do. It can be hard work, but no one said hard being Great was easy. You can do it. You can. For instance you could have researched frame data to a degree or a visual Q of some sort. Researching about these things could have led you to discover something maybe others have missed.
@@dlee7932 unfortunately it’s not about frame data cause the timing will be different every match cause of latency. This way you can practice and have some what a feeling for the right time you should aim for trying it online
